Turning anything you touch into crap.
Random crap or the…other crap?
Just general crap with visible stench.
Oh and here’s another power.
Turning Water into Wine
I remember seeing a booger wizard a while back, as he was in a seinen series he died first thing. Plus he was actually useless. Conversely in the same series the main character had a power that would give him a “heroic second wind” (actually just legit taking their strength, levels since it was in rpg format, when his teammates died.
The power to move sounds?
Powers have nothing to do with strength. They’re simply a matter of ingenuity. In the hands of the right person, any power is capable enough when applied properly.
The ability to control animals but only rats? …you mean those things that there’s millions of everywhere, carry diseases and are small enough to get into anything? A villain could introduce an upgrade version of the black plague and be one of the ultimate menaces?
This person’s power is control over ink? That’s ridiculous. Put them in the bottom tier list of villains…unless…you realize the fact that more critical documents at some point are printed or written in pen and could be tampered with nothing more than a few letter changes. Taxes, medical files, government papers could all be nulled or even rewritten and who would even know? And if someone has tattoos…they literally have an ink source they could manipulate directly into someone’s blood stream at will.
Or even more dangerous…the ability to attract energy and super powered attacks to…yourself. Why would anyone do this? Maybe because if they’re other teammates happen to be healers or fragile glass cannons, it keeps them from getting shot, you’ll be healed anyway and while the enemy can’t really do much damage to your party, they’re free to attack the enemy all they want with next to no risk?
If a power on paper looks bad enough, that’s part of the advantage. While everyone is looking for laser eyes, or getting ready to deal with every made of iron, super strength hero, how many villains are seriously going to prepare for the person whose only ability is to know how they SHOULD have countered an attack AFTER being hit? That would be silly…until phase two in which case, they already know all the ways your powers work now and exactly how to counter them…
While they’re are some powers that are readily obvious in how they are useful and definitely better than others that may actually make them a liability since everyone gets ready for them. Maybe methods that aren’t straightforward won’t grab any spotlight, but they don’t need to if they are effective and under the right conditions, virtually anything, no matter how stupid can be made to have it’s uses.
Sorry if these have been said but
The ability to talk to nature, like trees and shit so you get clues or answers from them.
The ability to be a walking EMP and just ruin any tech you walk by
The ability to rust and dissolve anything metal, car bout to run you over? Well now it just collapsed in on itself since you dissolved parts of it and rusted anything else, guys armour too tough? Make that shit rust to the point that he either can’t move or you punching paper, that’s how rust works right? I dunno.
If that ain’t how rust works the ability to weaken metals, turn a sword into a noodle.
And finally a criminally underused power, cloneing.
Make all the clones weak as piss or limit the MC to being an average joe so the bastards die in droves but are basically an endless army or something.
One final fun but highly self destructive is the ability to emit radiation, and turn into a walking dirty bomb.
i’m planning to have a master manipulator villain whose appearance changes to the most trustworthy/loved person of their enemies/victims. it only works if they have seen the said (most trusthworthy) person.
And by seen, yes, that includes recorded material like videos and photos.
I’ve always liked the idea of swarm power; control over large groups of frogs, rats, mosquito… Maybe low-level telepathy is the mechanism? Maybe chemical?
Adrenaline Rush.
I kinda just name it though as far as I know there’s a hero who has this ability. But its function is controlling a destructive vibration when dancing. (I saw that ability from an episode of teen titans go. Where they’re abilities was switch to almost useless one abilties.)
Evasion.
(Sorry I like naming abilities that I don’t know the name, and also inventing some of them.) Its function is your mind will tell you how to evade an incoming danger. (It’s also like Anna’s ability in Orphues Ruse wrong spelling on the title of that HG game or is it CoG? (Also saw it too in Teen Titans go)
Melodic Empathy.
Its function is through controlling emotions while singing in the emotion you want them to feel.
Statue of Reality.
(Stupid name, I know) Its function is giving a life to a statue.
Colorful Weaponry.
(Another stupid name.) Its function is making a weapon your choice using a color best represent them
Shakespeare.
Its function is reciting one of Shakespeare pieces while having an sleeping effect on the listener. (It works I tried it to my cousin😂) (And sorry my one and only idol, for using your name)
Bubble Barrier Manipulation.
Its function is through collecting/absorbing an natural energy like; going near in fire you can create a fire bubble barrier. And you can create a bubble barrier around your self or your allies and also enemy. Why enemies? For exaple your in a snowy place and there’s ice, you can absorb it and create the bubble barrier to your enemy, and they’ll either freeze or get too cold (Pun intented). And bubble because you can only make a circle one.
Well if you need more I still have many in my book!
I am also struggling with these kind of ideas, but what you asked sounds like Taskmaster, a Marvel character. Suggestions
-Luck
-Entering “the zone” at pleasure
-As I said, Taskmaster
Spidey Sense?
To be, or not to be–that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep–
No more–and by a sleep to say we end…
Hey, HEY, WAKE YOU JERK!
That brings to mind Fire Emblem
I like Lucifer Morningstar’s “desire superpower” in Lucifer. It’s so unique and well-written! He basically makes people confess their strongest, deepest desires. His brother slows time, another one of them is great with predicting patterns (aka a clever and fresh way of seeing and influencing future). The thing is, any power can have a creative twist, like strength in Black Panther, that comes from absorbing impact.
I have a character that can predict the next ten seconds of the future. His brain is basically a highly efficient probability engine, so much so that he can memorize and carry out a chosen probability without error. Hes also a super spy lol
What about the ability to make it so powers don’t work properly around you like someone who can shoot fire might accidentally shoot warm water or someone who can teleport might not be able to do it accurately or safely.
The ability to become invisible only when nobody is looking at you.
The power of getting into people’s dreams is something I haven’t seen as much as I thought I would. The power of imitating any voice (like those siblings in Adventure Time) or to not have to sleep or being able to see perfectly in the dark (and not being so good at seeing at day) also come to mind
You could call the Statue Reality as Breath of Life superpower! :)))
Well most likely, spidey sense tell you that there is an incoming danger. While Evasion tell you how to avoid them. So it’s most likely.
Seriously watch Charlotte (the anime) you will get a lot of superpowers from there and more ideas.
