Ideas for less popular superpowers?

Rabbit powers!
Leap small buildings in a single bound. Hear the slightest sounds with parascopic ears.
Dig burrows at breakneck speed.
And the most deadly power of all unbearable cuteness!!

Ps: couldnt help myself BUT those are still badass powers.

Oh! You should definitely look at the powers side characters have on My Hero Academia and get some inspiration from there, there’s some really creative stuff.

I have no idea if any of these are actually underrated but some superpowers I think are pretty cool and would like to see used more often are:

Intangibility which is basically the best defense ever! Everything just passes through you! Though I guess you’d still be vulnerable to mental attacks. Plus if it’s permanent it would be pretty sad… no hugging :(.

Voice manipulation! You could imitate the voice of anyone you’ve ever heard speaking. It could make for great traps. Though you’d have to know the person pretty well to make it credible.

Fabric control which is really weird and specific but you could like… suffocate someone with their scarf. Or make their clothes super tight and hard to move around with. Or inversely too wide! Now they’re tripping all over themselves!

Season control? Like you could suddenly make it snow or rain or bring the sun out at your will. Never really seen that before so I’m not sure what it would serve.

Dream vision and manipulation, you can see other people’s dreams and change things. It would be really good for sending messages in a low-key way. Plus it could reveal stuff about other people.

Aroma manipulation which would allow you to change the ambient smell to anything and amplify it! Imagine you’re battling someone who’s allergic to pollen, just make the smell full of pollen! Or overwhelm their olfactory senses! Or make it smell like crap! So many possibilities…

Okay this is all I can think for now but yeah basically everything can be a superpower if you try hard enough lol.

The rabbit power would have some not so ideal side effects, but it might be better not to dwell on this cough :smiling_imp:

True… but that could be an advantage.

But objectively, enhanced reflexes speed, kicking power, senses, would be like a cute spiderman lol

I’ve always liked the idea of extreme adaptation, though I think that’s actually been done a few times in comics. (darwin from x-men comes to mind)

All of these are really good!

Random list:

Computer / supercomputer levels of memory and processing power.

Ability to split your attention countless ways, enabling infinite multitasking.

Ability to change the form of energy at will. Kinetic/chemical/thermal/light/electricity/hydraulic etc.

Ability to channel infinite amounts of energy through your body without being fried. Like a superconductor, except for more than electricity.

Ability to do reverse nuclear reactions (aka turning energy back into matter).

Having a second body, and the physiology required to make it work . Not possessing it, but just owning both bodies like our left and right hands.

Not mind control, but control of the nervous system and the electrical impulses within.

The ability to change your own memories, personality, beliefs and behavior at will.

The ability to know exactly what someone wants to hear.

Postcognition. The ability to know what happened in the past.

Ability to communicate with your counterparts in all other parallel universes, thus knowing the outcome of every choice you didn’t make.

Ability to make small, local portals. Like from the front of a knife to the inside of someone’s body.

Mastery over illusions. Including all five senses, and maybe also sense of balance and direction.

The ability to control/ manipulate people’s blood

I forgot what it is called but there is one ability that allows you to move objects, bullets, people etc in whatever direction you want them to go.

Ability to hop to other universes.

Ability to know how good/evil someone is just by glancing at them.

Ability to change your features (such as at will being able to change your hair color.)

Ability to control/harness energy.

Story book.
The ability to construct a illusion by reading out loud.

Ei)read about a dragon and that dragon appears. Read about a hobbit and he or she appears. Write your oen story read it aloud and boom!

While not physically effective you could play on the mind very well.

Aw yes this power was central to one of my childhood favourites bookwise called “Tintenherz” (inkheart?)

How about the power to manipulate a curious bird that has a digeridoo as a bill. It would be a digeridodo bird.

Or they could conjure bayles of hay … their enemy would always draw the short straw.

What about super accurate aim? Like Hawkeye with his bow and arrows or Diego from Umbrella Academy with his throwing knives? That would actually be pretty cool. :grinning:

You can be invisible, but only if no one’s looking at you.

that would be the most useless power I could ever imagine
except does it include camera’s? then if not, it would have some use, but only if there is no guardsman or something

Watch the movie Mystery men.

Sort of like gamit’s Power. But he makes an object reach its full kinetic potential.

Reflection would be cool. You can reflect most things. Like sun light, bullets etc. however things that have already been reflected by something else won’t work. For example, if the light of the sun is reflected off of a mirror, you can’t reflect the light shining off that mirror. You also need a line of sight of what you’re reflecting.

fun game for these kinds of things: https://powerlisting.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Random

I’m assuming powers that only certain superheroes have are okay to list too?

  • The ability to break the 4th wall.
  • The ability to create diamonds and only diamonds.
  • The ability to turn things around you into pixels.
  • The ability to create black holes.
  • The ability to learn information on something by touching it.
  • The ability to manipulate your looks.
  • The ability to transform into a car.
  • The ability to turn anything you dream about into reality.
  • Probably not what you’re looking for but, The ability to manipulate reality is pretty unpopular I think as well.
  • The ability to remove parts of your body without dying.

I would check out this: https://powerlisting.fandom.com/wiki/Superpower_Wiki for more superpowers. ( because I only read watch/read marvel movies/comics so I don’t how unpopular a power is most of the time lol)

Similar to the person who said My Hero Academia, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure has tons of crazy powers (or characters’ stands do, at least). Some examples off the top of my head:
Fixing things, and changing what they are fixed into (Crazy Diamond)
Turning things into living creatures (Gold Experience)
Creating zippers that can also act as doors/portals (Sticky Fingers)
Aging people (Grateful Dead)
Traveling into mirrors (Man in the Mirror/Hanged Man kind of)
Blowing up things at touch (Killer Queen)
Taking people’s souls when you beat them in a game (Atum/Osiris)
