Congratulations on the release! I really enjoyed the demo and looking forward to reading the whole game!
Congratulation and good work on bringing good writing back to Host.
Now if only I could rate this, it’s by far one of the best pieces of literature I’ve ever read.
Bacon did a phenomenal job writing a story about a veteran recovering from the past, even if it’s only a little. The Marshall is one of the most compelling protagonists in CoG’s library, they’re written in a way that puts you right in their shoes and it just works (not to sound like good old Todd).
I’ve read before that Rade is a representation of all the things that went wrong with Kanton in the past and it shows. I might be wrong, but he’s definitely a good foil to the Marshall as well. He’s exactly what MC could have been if they were just a liiiittle more selfish.
I didn’t expect the romance to work so well either. At first I figured it wouldn’t fit with the Marshall’s character arc (Male MC x Lada) but all avenues are covered and it doesn’t devolve into a disaster. It’s about healing and she helps him do just that.
There’s way too much to go over without spoiling much for those who haven’t played, so let me sum it up. The character development, the themes, and the story itself are masterfully crafted into this wonderful story. I honestly can’t do it justice here.
Go give your money to Bacon, please.
Thanks again for all the congratulations!
While the marshal puts on a front of callousness, my personal interpretation of Rade is that he genuinely is callous.
yes please do this
Congratulations on finally getting this out @Bacondoneright.
Congrats! Even had the day off for my first full run, lived up to the promise.
It’s R$27,99 on the omnibus. But buying on steam is usually the best option.
It on offer right now on iPhone so might as well it while it’s cheap
Who are the romance options and how many are there?
I suddenly feel the urge to murder all the royals apart from our sis. Honestly why would we lie about something the kings death since it affects the whole kingdom and we could never claim the throne thanks to our status. The mother is dumb and should be informing the heir who supposed to be in charge now instead of hiding it.
These people should at least hear us out instead being in denial and making dumb mistakes. I wonder if I could claim the throne or at least retire from soldiering and live as high up noble. I guess I won’t know until I play the whole time but it was entertaining
Congratulations!! Can’t wait to play it next week (guests) but it’s already on my phone.
Milon (M/F), Lada (F/M), Obren (M/M)
I was there when Bellos’ Sally faltered.
I was there when the battle of Atiming River happened.
I was even there to hear the tale, of the paranoia of checking the ears.
I’ve been with this story near the start, exploring every scenario and possibility that could come from the Marshall, his redemption and the redeemer.
This has been a phenomenal story since the beginning, with my luck managing to be part of the first few hundreds to see how it goes. It pains me that my ability to foresee the phrase “*comment no comments here, ya sneaky bastard” be at its end, but at the same time, I’m elated to see the current story arrive at where it is, at a conclusion that was not far from expectation, yet equally impactful to read.
Congratulations and salutations, Bacon. You’ve arrived at a place that many have aspired to do, yet fail to achieve. Continue onward, Marshall, for you’ll not be forgotten.
Edit: You know, as an irl soldier, it sort of… sucker punches me when every choice I pick with the soldiers is just the stuff that I’d do. Not out of a need to make the common soldier fear me, but of mutual respect… Then again, I’ll probably be reserving a seat to hell for even thinking about the alternative…
Are the Erisians elves?
Thank you all for the congratulations! I’m working on bug-fixes and reworking the final battle to be a little easier to understand.
It’s been a long journey, huh? And I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it so far!
They were early in planning but I scrapped it.
So Lada can only be romance if your character is male? Then why is there an option for if your MC is female, you can pick to be a lesbian if there’s no female RO?
The presence/absence of an RO doesn’t impact the Marshal’s sexual orientation.
Congratulation for publishing the book, I love the art and the game so much (〃´▽`)
This is one amazing story. Doesn’t sugarcoat anything, and doesn’t shy away from hard topics. But instead humanize the characters through them.
Plus it’s such a long read, and I was glued to it for hours. Even slacking off at work to play it (don’t tell my boss).
Really can’t wait for the sequel. Meanwhile I’ll keep playing this a few more times. Great work!
Been long enough that I couldn’t exactly remember how to commence the encirclement.
