How to meet Jesse again in Memphis

A dead body doesn’t need to be alive to pour blood into it. Blood will flow through veins and arteries just as it will through pipes or riverbeds.

Yes but a normal dead body can’t use and manipulate the energy of blood like a vampire can

Being able to feed on the life energy in blood is a far cry from being able to successfully carry a child for 9 months. You’re not talking about just animating a preserved dead body, you’re talking about continuing the host of biochemical processes neded to create new life. If that’s still possible than a vampire isn’t dead, or even undead, just transformed into a slightly different sort of living being with some peculiar dietary habits.

Every time they drink blood aren’t they reanimated? And I don’t understand how that is a far cry using the energy in blood has everything to do with Successfully carrying a child for nine months seeing as drinking one time can make the adult vampire so strong think how powerful it would be on a vampire baby for development. This would allow the mother to give birth in weeks.also doesn’t it already use it’s natural biochemical process by using blood as an energy source so why would it not be able to do the same thing for a child and the child do the same. If that makes them slightly different living I guess they are.

Increasing strength by sending extra vamp blood to your muscles is a simple thing compared to the biological complexity of creating and sustaining a new life. There are countless biochemical reactions that need to be done in just the right order to bring a life into being. It’s not a one or two step process, or even a hundred step process, it’s incredibly more complex than that. So it’s not something that can simply be willed. It would require not just reproduction, but also metabolism, two of the most fundamental hallmarks of a living being which vampires are not supposed to be. Metabolism means your body isn’t frozen in time, but is continuing to exhibit the nearly countless biological processes needed to support the life of the developing child.

Besides vampires “breed” through spreading vampirism. They shouldn’t even feel the need for sex.

Well you should have the choIce to have a half breed with a human clotho

Three things to consider:

  1. Every vampire mythos is different. What’s true in one vampire mythos may not be true in another. I’m personally most familar with VtM/VtR, and think that CoV bears a close resemblance, so, in doubt, it’s what I’ll be looking at.

  2. (About the body) Can vampires actually animate the blood in their veins? Just because they drink blood, and can make use of the blood they drink, there is no logical reason that the blood they drink ends up anywhere than in their stomach, nor that they would have the ability to manipulate the blood in their veins (and if they do, then they should also have a heartbeat). IIRC, VtM (and VtR I think) originally held that the blood in a vampire’s veins was dead. They could spend a vitae to bring it back to life for a scene (a ‘scene’ being anywhere between a few minutes to a few hours), which would be enough time to preform the deed, but certainly not enough time for a woman to bear a child.

Of course, theoretically (in VtM), a woman could continue to spend blood to fake those chemical responses, but the amount of blood that would require is insane (assuming about three pints a day to fake that, which is being very generously low, it would require around 100 gallons (US) for a whole pregnancy. That’s enough to fill a couple of oil drums. (In VtM there was also the ability to spend blood to force changes to remain permanent). In CoV, if a woman is likewise able to fake the skin flushed with blood thing, they should also be able to fake the chemical responses (or, at least, there is no logical reason for them to be able to do one, but not the other, save for one being easily recognizable and the other not.) What exactly the cost of doing so (in energy) and how long it is able to be done for is not covered. (Actually, thinking about it, in VtM, a woman wouldn’t be able to ‘fake the signs of life’ while she slept, so, even if she were to make the changes permanent, during her sleep, when her womb would ‘die again’, it would certainly result in a miscarriage.)

Assuming that a vampire can feel pain (not all vampires can) then they should be able to feel pleasure. Assuming that they can also have their skin flushed with blood, then there is no reason that a man cannot get it up.

However, in CoV, it only seems that a vampire can fake the signs of life when they are feeding. If that is true, then females almost certainly cannot fake the chemical responses long enough to have children. Men, however may very well be able to. Feeding allows the blood in the veins to work, which allows for an erection, which allows for ejaculation.

  1. (About viability of offspring) However, there is more to pregnancy than just the act of copulating. A woman’s eggs are all born with her and she produces no more. How these are affected by vampirism, however, is basically a crapshoot. Are they part of her, or separate? Do they change like the rest of her or do they die? (Them surviving normally doesn’t make much sense.)

Men, on the other hand, constantly produce sperm. Likewise, their sperm constantly dies and is reabsorbed by the body. Once dead, they no longer produce more sperm. There really is no reason for that to be any less true with undeath. Once produced, the body has little to no affect on sperm any longer, so undeath is unlikely to preserve current sperm (IMO). In fact, once undead, a male’s body shouldn’t even really produce ejaculant at all anymore, so a guy probably doesn’t even have anything to, well, ejaculate with at all anymore.

tl;dr A woman may or may not have eggs left, but either way, it’s unlikely for her to be able to make use of them. A man, may be more capable of the act, but is however, very unlikely to have viable sperm.

In KOTE, The (Orientalist) Kuei-Jin can become pregnant and cause human women to be pregnant…Via Sex

@Zed Yea, but I think they worked on an entirely different set of rules. It’s like the albatross and hummingbirds. They’re both birds, and share a number of similarities, but what they do and how they do it is extremely different. In fact, the Kuei-Jin are only really called vampires because they tend to suck blood. IIRC, they don’t even have to, it’s just the most convenient way to feed.

Can you romance jesse?

Not yet

you can sort of romance him, but i think it’s only one scene. it’s only available if you have a high relationship with him and suggest an outing with him when you see him in Memphis.

So can you romance jesse?

Yes if romance can be defined that your vampire have a new and different feeling than what he/she felt in decades.
