You have received the Blessing of Sergi. Go forth and be ridiculously prolific.
The more I think about it, the more I think this is what rubbed me wrong. Sometimes Iām in the frame of mind for a more gamey game, sometimes Iām more in the mood for a CYOA* game. Iāll have to go back and play this one sometime Iām in the right frame of mind for it, I think.
*for some dumb reason my corporate-trained brain always converts this into ācover your own ass.ā Probably says something dire about the places Iāve worked.
OMG Now I will never see CYOA the same way again!!
(If you do re-read, happily awaiting your feedback!)
I will probably give it a replay after Blood Moon. I donāt think Iāll play the previous two first but will pick what happened. I think V1 & 2 are part of why I was in a more story mode than game mode, particularly V1 (I love playing through the Wone creashun wave.)
Itās always wild to me hearing when someone loves that partāit took me WEEKS to write that one part and I was convinced it was a total waste of time/something readers would begrudgingly skip over. Glad I somehow decided to ignore that instinct!
Definitely NOT a waste of time! Itās probably one of the most memorable elements of any of the COG/HG Iāve played.
By the way, for any readers out there, this page has lots of fun updates: character art, fan art, an a Spotify playlist of music I listened to while writing (perfect for reading). Will post new stuff here to. In the meantime, still hopeful for any readers out there to provide feedback, especially to apply to the continuation of the story!!
Planning to play tonight (unless cooking wipes me out.) Has that spotify playlist been ported or whatever to youtube music? I had an ID theft incident years ago that originated from spotify that they were even less than no help getting cleared up.
Sorry to hear that! No sadly, itās just on Spotify. Took a ton of time to build it there, but you can pick some key songs for listening on YouTube
Did a replay last night that definitely felt odd. It was like a speedrun through a game where I hadnāt really paid attention to the rules. Part of what (my opinion only) may have upset so many people being the Oli bits, it probably would pay to build a character that wasnāt so involved with getting on his good side and built stats in interactions with the others. I think I do actually need to take the time to go through the whole series again, approaching it as a more technical game than a story-driven game. Some stats didnāt work the way I was anticipating and I keep forgetting that the third entry prefers that Breeze be there so much (I always kill them off in the vote.)
Oh, I had been talking about Fortune the Fated being a more game-like entry, not Versus 3 this whole time (not sure when Versus entered the chat lolol). Versus is absolutely story driven.
Probably just me, because now that I look at the cover artā¦how exactly did I screw that up?
Thereās no such thing as screwing anything up in interactive fiction
I have played through this though. It seemed in the same vein as Through the Pages, but felt more cohesive. I really donāt know what to do with it though, did you intend to make it a standalone? Because it doesnāt really feel like one, it feels more like a first entry.
I believe itās meant to be a duology.
Oh good.
It is indeed meant to be a Duology (hence the eagerness for feedback now that my mental health is fortified haha)
Yeah, the internet is an awfully damaging place, sometimes. I blame the keyboard anonymity.
Yes, some months I do better with it than othersāI donāt know why fully some of the comments about Fortune the Fated took me out at the knees. Probably pouring salt in some old wounds / my intentions being totally misunderstood. Mostly, I just canāt fathom why people feel entitled to be so MEAN. But, onwards!
