It is a small thing but this makes me laugh regardless…
The fact Argent thinks my mc is a chicken (I run away from her in the sewer), and Harold is scared shitless from us is just hilarious

Well. Sometimes there are characters that irritate us with their personality and behavior (I guess you can find such people in real life too). Mortum seems arrogant and condescending. I don’t like their attachment to the puppet, I don’t like French pet names and that pose: oh how mysterious I am
Maybe it would have stopped at irritation if I hadn’t checked the version where MC reveals everything to them. Especially MC who tried to be fair to Mortum and considered them a friend. I think they deserved better treatment. Maybe Sidestep should have known when after revealing, Mortum started looking at them as if they were research subject…

Wow, no one hates Herald. Although to be fair, he might be annoying but he’s also too weak to be a real threat.
In general I’m surprised that everyone seems to have more hatred for themselves than any of the rangers, although I’m happy to see there’s more hatred for the past than for the present. Setting the world on fire IS the right course of action and heroing was a mistake!

Hey, the kid did nothing wrong. He’s just a bit of a fanboy who’s concerned with MC (and happy to have them around)
But seriously, aside from past-self, he’s my favourite rival to have. Mainly because the Step in question is being “forced” to train him - they might hate his guts, but they need the Rangers to be at their prime - so it’s always entertaining to see them come with a dozen reasons to explain why Herald is intolerable every time they see him.
I’m also a sucker for enemies/rivals to lovers, so there’s that.

I mean, it’s funny to bully, break his leg, and all but… it’s hard to genuinely hate the guy. In Rebirth, a lot of Step’s dislike comes off as projection; get to know him in Retribution, the illusion is shattered and there’s just not a lot to hate. Maybe annoying at times but apparently not enough to really stick.

what pet names? Saying ‘Ma chérie or Mon chérie’ isn’t a pet name. It translate as ‘My Love…’ Thats not a pet name, you know that right?

Herald is way too much of a golden retriever puppy type for me to not hate him. His idealism rubs me the wrong way. As for why my Step hates him, I mean Herald has nothing real to hide from, everyone loves him even if he’s easily the most incompetent of the Rangers, and he’s just too damn cheerful. My Step is both jealous and contemptuous.
