Fallen Hero: Retribution release thread! (Book Two) (Spoilers Inside!)

Pretty sure anathema actually is dead. They only had those two powers, the thing with the acid and the shielding.

They are…dead.

Nah it probably was HB playing a joke and making you and people see an illusion, then we can have the reunion, the cacofiend can come too, but under probation since people weren’t sure they were dead.

Love how everyone in this thread is manifesting their inner Step by slowly becoming clinically insane, as we try to understand what’s true and what’s not :call_me_hand:

I think this sums up well what we do lol

Unless it was Sidestep who died and possessed Anathema post-mortem, who then went out the window but the SD put their minds, along with HB, in HGs sibling and…

Maybe a little

Yo it’s been a week now and i can’t rep my head around one thing, how do i take the Sidestep monika as my villian name :joy::sweat_smile::sob:

I always played my Step as someone losing it. Even as my “good” Sidestep, I deliberately attempt to open gates, giving the appearance of someone always trying to do their best as the world continuously breaks them down, bringing them closer to the point of no return.

I cannot believe I missed this games release, especially considering how much I’ve adored the series and followed its progress.
I haven’t played it yet, but I have just one question if someone could tell me: how much bigger is the finished game than the final dashingdon demo was (I can’t seem to find the final word count for the demo, but maybe I’m blind)?
And please, no spoilers!

Not much bigger. Some things got rearranged, existing ones were tweaked a bit, but the endings especially come with potentially pretty large bombshells.

I just realized that some parts or dialogues I liked more in the old demo than in the released version.

Suicidal is the most obvious one I would say, friendless and hungry makes no sense. Revenge is also another good one

Got any examples?

Oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh i love this theory, identity crises are the best lmao

what do you mean? Make sense in what way?

I actually was wondering the same thing myself. There is nothing to suggest you necessarily need to be the same Step that everyone else met. Plus, the “fake self” “monsterous” you of now… The only thing that immediately makes me dubious is because of the fact that Step has scars on their face, which Ortega would have seen if they had a relationship. I doubt those scars would be easily replicable.

It could be a sort of mind takeover scenario-- original Step’s conscious is yeeted into the unconscious side of the brain while a replacement ‘empty-minded’ clone’s conscious is yoinked into OG step’s brain and kind of absorbs the memories like a sponge with retaining the OG body, which would also help the unreliable memory bit, reminiscent of how our step controls the puppet but on a like, more permanent basis… or does that seem unfeasible?

Tbh we all make fun of Ortega for his theory board but after reading this damn thread for so long we’re all honestly just as bad if not worse

Nobody makes fun of Ortega board…

I haven’t seen anyone do it. So, does that means you are or have been making fun of their theories board? lol
