On that topic: if someone would link me a guide for that I would be very thankfull.
Yep I prefer that instead of what happened at hallowground meeting. It’s ripe for drama and we have some degree of control. It would be even more dramatic if step chosen the mysterious look that he will choose as his nemesis
Shocked that Puppetmaster is not higher. It’s such a cool playstyle and personally makes a lot of sense with the way I RP my Step who feels jaded at having been controlled for so long.
Seeing as we’re talking about the scar thing, so did you guys go back to pick the one you thought would best fit your Step or decided to stick with the one in your blind playthrough?
Personally revenge and puppetmaster are my favorites, so after seeing the current results I’m very curious
I stuck with one I got in my “blind” run (Hungry), but I also feel that it fits my main Sidestep the best!
Both, revenge is the best fit for my main Sidestep and the one I picked on my first playtrough.
I ended with the suicidal one in b1 so it means I have to pick a new one in b2
I mostly go with friendless because I think it really fits my pragmatic MC.
Yes. My pragmatic Step is Revenger and crazy one is Suicidal.
Based on that I think I got “outsider”… What does it mean?
I still don’t get this “scars” and “gates” mechanics.
Here is what the code say about the scars
*create heartbreak_scar “none”
*comment lesson taken from the heartbreak event: puppetmaster (learned how to manipulate), revenge (wanting to kill the scientists), hungry (a hunger for more), outside (being trapped in this other mind), friendless (letting it eat the memories of friends), suicidal (discontinued in retribution,
The mention of memories being eaten for the friendless scar reminded me about another thing about Step: they seem to have lots of memory gaps?
Like I’d imagine most of the bad stuff it’s for trauma, alas the mind locking itself out of said bad experiences, but throughout the game there’s a lot of “You don’t remember. Why can’t you remember?” even about little things or even that dialogue where you tell Ortega “I remember what you said about Regenes” and Ortega’s like “Did I really said that?” (although, I will admit that falls a little flat, seeing as both Ortega and Steel are confused at first but later don’t deny having had that convo.)
Tldr; I wonder if that’s something important or simply “flavor text” to remind you just how bad HB screwed up Step’s head.
I’ve wondered about this too. Particularly with, I believe it’s Dr Mortum, who mentions high level telepaths make it hard even for the telepath themself to distinguish reality. And Sidestep has issues with their mental shields fairly often when under stress or around particularly strong thinkers like Harold. Did people say what we think they said or did we just hear it? And are our recollections strong enough to implant false memories in others?
It dawned on me… Marshal Hood might be behind The Big One. As well as behind all others in the area.
Maybe someone already thought about it, but it just hit me like the truck.
There is so many things brewing in my brain. So many theories. I am so obsessed. Gonna lose my mind before the next game. Hehe
The question is where is the supposedly deceased former Marshal? And whose hand has been touching guiding him? Cough cough HG. At least that’s the theory I brought up.
Welcome to the crazy train
Exactly. And not that he didn’t deserved that treatment if my theories correct. I think since he is one of the ranger’s founder maybe he was corrupt since the start of them. Was he good, was he bad. Maybe there’s the truth that going to break Ortega’s heart. Waiting is gonna be tough but wait I must
the theory about the former Marshal, is that HG has him. In the ending Slider, when we get HG talking about Nocturne (about someone wiggling and having to call them, and things being under control)…
Thats the theory. He is…manipulated…though this sound more like brainwashed.
Honestly, this is nagging me lol so just gonna ask directly! @malinryden Did you watch Naruto (and Shippuuden) by any chance???
If that ends up being true, we just have to wait a bit so Anathema can stop pretending to be dead too, and then we can start a club of people who died and came back or didn’t die at all.
If HB is the one controlling puppet, they can join too.
