Dragon Racer (WIP) - Updated 1/30/17 (post 615)

Male, cute and not condescending to my mc. So maybe like Cassius but with a better sense of style.
Of course if the farmboy or stablehand monikers do stick well, I suppose the possibility of cute stylish guys ever treating us nicely when we first meet them are pretty much going to be zero.
That said so long as the relationship/friendship with our Dragon makes up for a lot of things romance is not absolutely vital for me in this game, I guess.

Well except for the missed pay and training I suppose, so it will still be an uphill struggle and we’re still stuck in the same team as Saren so there will be no forgetting about the stableboy part, ever I guess. :unamused:
Will we have the same pay too, or does pay go on individual contracts? Of which we’ll naturally have the worst one at that time?

@idonotlikeusernames only your mc gets the worst contract. The rest of us get super amazing contracts

Back to the topic though. @ToxicDreams I want to second the call for more time with our dragon. Specifically I want to spend some more time working with my black dragon on his unique magic.

@idonotlikeusernames there will be another male RO in the sequel, I think he’ll fit you. Also, your pay depends on the place you come in during the places. You get paid either way, but you could get paid 50 coins to 200, all depends on your placement. Every race you have the opportunity to come in first.

Is he going to be available for male mc’s too, or is he going to be straight, like Cassius?
Great so how often do we need to “win” in order to make up the monetary gap that exists between us and Saren as that is always the most sore point for my mc?
Is this “pay” all price money or does it come from the team somehow.
In any case for anything he does manage to win while still a stableboy he’ll probably refuse to either accept the “prize” altogether or toss it in the trash afterwards. Which it is depends on whether or not I can really use the manure covered stableboy outfit to take a little revenge on my mc’s more obnoxious competitors.

I want that too! Spend time with all the dragons especially my Black Dragon Fenrir. He’s the cutest and strongest dragon especially since he beat Shaders dragon lol.

Will there be another (non-straight) female RO, too? (Nyx is great and all, but maybe not everybody’s type…just mentioning it…ignore me if I annoy you…)

Is there romance in this game and if so what are they?

Here, for you.

Speaking of Allison, someone can tell me something about her besides her work of removing dragon’s poop and the dragoness having a bad opinion of her intellect?

@idonotlikeusernames He’ll be bisexual so you don’t have to worry there. And there is no gap between you and Saren. If anything, you’re actually richer than Saren since he gets paid off of doing races (which his first race, maybe, is the Rookie Showcase and that’s possibly your first one too). You, on the other hand, get paid for the races and being a stable hand. And nothing comes from the team, whatever you get, you earned.

@Sammysam I don’t know which orientation she’ll be but there will be another female RO.

@LazerFarm check out the post above this, if there’s any other questions then I can probably answer them as long as they’re not to spoiler-ish

@Urban you learn more about her throughout the story lol, her personality doesn’t truly come out just yet

Well we do start out desperately poor and he does win that first race.
Also unlike true racers I’m guessing stableboys don’t get (m)any perks and have to pay for their entire outfitting (and possibly lodging too) themselves on 1-2 coins a week or something.

So no sponsorship deals or anything (that are only open to team members) in order to rake in additional cash?

Hmm…if my mc is going up against Saren there he’s probably going to try and repay him for that stunt as he doesn’t care about winning from Saren using the honourable “pro” rules as that would feel like an incredibly hollow, pyrrhic “victory”.

Why? My MC would see an honourable victory as the only true victory. We won, and we didn’t even have to cheat. (And he knows it.)

That’s not in any way a “just” repayment for him trying to kill (and nearly succeeding in doing so) us, nor for all the stableboy humiliations he has to suffer because of that.
As the guy who seems like he’s going to be our “boss” in those stables doesn’t seem to be particularly nice nor does he seem to like us.

Well, my MC will certainly attempt to change this. (As I said, I’m going for the challenge, here.)

While my mc doesn’t like Duncan and hates Saren right back.

As to Saren my mc will only really consider it “winning” if he ever defeats Saren in a no rules tournament, as anybody can win playing by those lame, “honourable”, pro rules. That first incident with Saren may have nearly killed him but it also taught him a valuable lesson, that victory is only really worth winning if there are real stakes and real risks. Those “pro” rules take away the risks and a lame trophy and all of ten coins for that “Rookie Showcase” aren’t real stakes either. If he didn’t need to show his skill in basically any event he can get into in order to try to get rid of his stableboy duties fast, he’d probably skip the “Rookie Showcase” altogether.
Again should he actually “win” that thing that trophy and the rest of the “prize” would probably go straight into the trash.

Whereas in my mc mind that becomes “We “won”, and we weren’t even allowed to “cheat” :unamused:.

Even if the other guy is cheating like mad?

okay… another heartbroken for me today… :sob:

I would offer to share Saren, too, but I get the feeling you’d be even less keen on that idea…

yup, in my opinion he is a jerk just like shader… and im not too keen with the remaining girl RO either… well another game without romance for me then

Even more than Shader, really. But a lot cuter, and exclusively gay, which was enough for me to see it more as a challenge to win him over, and less as him just being an obnoxious jerk.

You could always play as a girl :stuck_out_tongue:

My first playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins was as a male noble but Alistair was too damn adorable to not romance.

Then Cassius can be all yours
