I’ll most likely never act on this so I don’t mind if someone ‘steals’ my idea.

So, you see a lot of superhero games on COG, which are all amazing stories but I’ve noticed, in all of them, that the people with superpowers are always highly regarded and loved by everyone.

One of things I enjoyed about the infamous series (second son and first light included) was the rebellious nature and playing as a group of outcasts who don’t bother to hide their identities or have cheesy costumes because they’re just people. People rejected by society and have badass powers to boot.

I’d do this myself but I don’t have the knowledge, experience or time to write a full story, not to mention all the coding people complain about. Obviously this wouldn’t be a full copy and paste of the infamous games so maybe it could take place in the future? Or an urban apocalyptic setting?

I just want to see other peoples’ thoughts on the subject.

As long as I can have the powers and abilities from Festival of Blood DLC and Second Son (first light incuded), I’m all in for this idea.

I’ll probably just remake Fetch every time I play it tbh . First Light’s gameplay was my favorite, it just felt so smooth

I’ve been thinking about a Himalayan mountain climbing game. Your standard mental / physical / technique (technical?) stats, along with relationships with fellow climbers and/or guides determine your ability to summit. However, using a random number generator, there is the “Sword of Damocles” hanging over the climbers, threatening an avalanche, altitude sickness, or a storm that threatens to sweep you off the mountain. Should the random event kick in, it turns into a race to get you and everyone else down the mountain alive.

A passive gender lock story. A princess adventure, the character being forced to be the princess even if their actual gender is something else.

It would be a sort of glamour curse, being seen as a princess by everyone except yourself and your character isn’t even royalty!

I’ve had lots of ideas for a Fantasy Genre, and I wanted to hear you guys’s! For mine, I want to try to do something out of the ordinary, maybe new races, stuff like that!

Post your own ideas down below!

Cat girls, Sour Knight in Armor trope, some mild sexual content with elves, short jokes for dwarves, and maybe a secret princess or two! :stuck_out_tongue:

Count me in!

But if you’re talking about new races, this site can give you a lot of weird random race description fantasynamegenerators.com

Back to topic, uuh… I actually prefer a kind of fantasy that involve your standard Elves, Dwarfs, and Humans as the main races, in an era of swords and shields.

Often come to my mind an idea of alternate earth: What if the first energy found by human is not oil? But shining blue crystal instead? (I know. Human found the fire first. But that’s not the case --)

And then every tech we have uses magic power. But there’re also ppl who uses magic conventional way (throwing fireballs, electrifying foes, or create food from thin air)
Basically this

Dragons, Dragons and more D.R.A.G.O.N.S!!!

these people are elite law enforcers who take pride protecting the planet in their state-of-the-art branches planted globally around the world, they also happen to take law by any means necessary from handcuffs to allowing their dragon mounts to swallow the criminals whole! Wondering how they acquired dragons? they simply brought them back to life through fossils way back in the Jurassic period as they were alive at the same time as the dinosaurs (in this world, false fact *sob)! only, these dragons have been kitted out with high tech armour and have bonded with a single human who will accompany them for the rest of their lives, or until they die nobly in battle (sad tale, but in this world police get killed a lot by either burnt alive by their own mount or shot in the heart by a criminal.) Getting to the point, the MC is relatively new as they are a child prodigy who had stood out rather awkwardly for the whole of their life and watches the revival of their own dragon which can be either an Eastern, western or a extremely rare Imugi (a serpent who turns into a dragon when reaching maturity) in which they shall bond with (will provide pictures at the bottom of the page!) and which ever one you get can be personality based or the MC can pick out their own by chance as they are all kept inside plain boxes at the beginning. Also, so that the MC doesn’t look out of place in their normal life at their high school, their mount had to take the form of another normall-ish looking being from a cat with scales or a dog with antlers. But, much to the MC’s embarrassment, their creature took the form of a human the same age as them as dragons here age the same way as humans do (Note: no gender lock, multiple choice boy, girl non-specific so reader can choose) so they have to survive with this random being following them. It was rare for a dragon to take a human form, so it wasn’t really that special but more uncommon and unfortunately a burden for the dragon as a long forgotten mount of the last dragon commander silently awaits a dragon who has this rare form in order to devour it then become human itself! can the pair survive, more importantly, can the MC pass their final exams?

Western
Western dragon which is what we see in game of thrones and harry potter except both have armed wings instead of four feet. Anyway, when they are not kidnapping princesses or participating in the game to get the iron thrown they are rather possessive and dare I say ‘Yandere’ to what they love, desire or cherish most (occasionally gold) so the character of this moody dragon will most likely be protective of the MC if they are ever in danger and will use any means nessasry to keep them safe as their rider who they share a bond with (including killing fellow officers will become fired ) they may even try and get the MC fired on purpose for the sake of them being safe. You have been warned.

Eastern

Eastern dragon which is what we refer to as ‘Chinese dragons’ and what Haku is in spirited away. These dragons are supposed to be luckey in Chinese and Korean culture which would automatically make them a gentle and loving person or “that Person over there who only listens” kinda person since they don’t really react to conflict and generally tend to avoid it. but (I like using the word ‘but’ as it can be good and bad at the same time ) when they get angry, boy, do they get mad as the most powerful can cause droughts for weeks and when they clash above the clouds they can cause lightening storms, so the MC would be best to avoid angering them.

Imugi
this is an Imugi which is a serpent with arms (just to sum it up neatly without excessive detail) which reaches its dragon stage when reaching maturity so you can expect this dragon to be rather an A-hole during training and school with violent mood swings, but soon becomes much more calmer and relaxed spending time in the new world. do bare in mind that as what is essentially a flying snake with arms cannot breath fire yet nor can its scales withstand in extreme heat exposure so is essentially defenceless meaning it will break its bad-dragon attitude and will become clingy in mortal danger meaning that the MC will have to do more than their share of fighting.

#A lot to take in but I have been cradling this idea for so long it is essentially an overgrown baby! someone please adopt!
*ahem, please consider and I shall take my leave…
walks out the room with arms behind her back leaving behind a cheering audience throwing roses at the stage

How 'bout a game where the characters have powers but the powers are like a double edged sword, you know, something like if a character had the ability to regenerate from any injury but the pain from the injury is always there.
It could become a pretty dark game, maybe the MC has a power to return from the dead, maybe via time travel, well that could be what MC thinks but it turns out each time they die the ‘memories’ of the future are sent back through time and it turns out that the ‘original’ MC died a long time ago (well in the future I guess), or it could just be where they come back through time and the power can never be deactivated.
The MC could live a complete life and die of old age, but they are sent to the first time they ‘died’ and the main story might just be about trying to find a way to rid yourself of the power.

Another idea I had is one where you play the hero of the story, but its set after you save the world, universe, or whatever and you just sort of have to live a normal life, or maybe everyone starts to get scared of you or something (I thing dragon age’s trespasser sorta dealt with this)

Edit: A new idea I have (you know because its 3am and I have nothing better to do) is one where the MC is taken to a parallel world or alternate world or whatever, but they came from a sorta fantasy world and then they are pulled into the modern world, the story could be about trying to get back to their world or them adjusting to their new life or something

An rp written in memoriam.
The narrarator being someone that was very close to the MC recanting the memories of being together as if looking through a photo album and writing in a journal about the good old days.

The genre in the background could be anything and the player could mold these memories as the story is told. It’s a fun idea I think.

Put them down below. I want to start writing soon. No, it wouldn’t be a CoG or a Hosted Game, but after playing Highlands: Deep Waters by @MahatmaDagon, I couldn’t help myself. I become inspired to write my very first interactive fiction piece and was wondering if any of you had any good ideas for a scary, intense, horror text game?

I had read a series of books wherein the main character and their friends are aware of magic because two of their friends are magic. One is an elf woman who is dating one of the humans. The other one is a genie-like creature who lives in a tooth of the mc’s best friend who is female. The fun begins when a worldwide transformation happens. Everyone becomes a centuar. Not the reguar centuars (The tourso of a man with the body of a horse, but crossbreed centuars. In the books the mc and his bf are an unicorn centuar and a deer centuar. The elf becomes a dragon centuar.

How fun would a WIP set in this world be?

A random idea I may not get to but I think it would be an interesting concept.

The Place Between;
Between what?
Life and death
Wake and sleep
Real and imaginary

The main character wakes to find themselves in a shifting world of will and thought after an accident leaves them comatose. Their life memories shattered and the only way to wake front this coma is to put the pieces of your memories back together… but there’s a catch.

The Place between is a nexus of alternate dimensions. By putting your memories together you form your life little by little? Did you come from a world of technological wonders or where dragons graced the cerulean sky. We’re you human? Or something beyond simple explanations.

The Place Between leads to all possibilities and one must be careful because as your life comes together so does this realm filling with familiar dangers. Will you wake and will your life be the way it’s supposed to be?

This isn’t something I feel I could do myself, I’m not very motivated to start another story completely from the ground up, but I want to ask if anyone would be interested in something like this?

If you mean a story that has a MC who is a killer, then yes, I’ve been thinking about writing one :joy: I’ll probably write it when I’ve finished my current story (a visual novel). I don’t want to write another visual novel, so I’ll write it either in ChoiceScript or Twine. It might turn out kind of offensive to some people, so I’m not really sure where to post it

Do you have a story idea you want to give up for ‘adoption’? I have my own idea too, but it’s not very well-developed yet.

I’ve come up with an idea for a serial killer or contract killer story(Like Agent 47)but i’m too lazy to write it:sweat_smile:. If anyone wants the idea I can give it:slight_smile:.

And yes, my story would be suitable for all ages too!

I’ve been working off and on, on a visual novel/dating sim that is a sort of CSI game. While it would be an homage to criminology and features a serial killer, it wouldn’t be a “you are a serial killer” game.

The closest I’ve ever seen to that are some darker Japanese sims. “Chain” comes to mind as a reasonable attempt - I’m sure there are more (I know there were some Newgrounds got-to-kill-'em-all games that weren’t worth remembering.) I’d definitely play a game like that, if it were interesting and well thought-out, along the lines of Bates Motel or Dexter; the problem I’ve seen with a lot of “murder fiction” is that it plays out like a power fantasy.

People who kill people are not heroes, super-cool protagonists, or particularly in control of their lives; neither are they personifications of nature, perpetrators of random acts of chaos without any motivation. The balance necessary to create a credible killer is what makes really well-thought out crime fiction worthwhile.
