Community College Hero (for all post-release feedback)

I don’t know if it’s a direct reference, but there’s the fact the Speck Seven are in some ways the only important people in the school, with all the subplots and teacher attention, similar to Community’s study group. I always liked that.

Tress definitely reminds me of Annie (especially in the beta for the sequel), and Crook is a dead ringer for Jeff.

@hustlertwo, I’m glad you’re liking it! And I admit to there being some influences from Community. It is one of my all time fav shows. I watched it to the bitter end (even the Yahoo season). Even bought a t-shirt and a Troy and Abed in the Morning coffee mug. I’ve always preferred watching shows or movies (or reading books) about low level or even “loser” characters (Kick Ass movies, The Office/Parks & Rec TV shows, anything Daredevil).

Probably no Magnitude (Pop! Pop!) but there may be a mention of certain timelines or realities. We’ll have to see!

@Sleepyowl, And I will continue to call attention to that in Part 2! There’s no use for me as a writer, to ignore it. A couple minor characters (other students) aren’t thrilled that the entire world resolves around the Speck Seven.

@Greyscales, I can see that! Both are hyper-organized and driven, although they tend to make some questionable decisions. And yeah they always made fun of Jeff for being “40” right? Such great characters! I hate seeing the actors have to take on new roles in new shows that appear to be nowhere near as awesome.

And to everyone…there is a paintball scene in Part 1, but it’s only accessible to those taking the Defense study sessions path. I just had to throw that in!

Does this mean CCH is in the Darkest Timeline? :open_mouth:

This topic is open again?.. hahaha, i just love how one of the minor characters reacts when he finally realized that the school is centered around speck seven, wouldn’t it be awesome if all of the least important student gather up and try to fight the speck seven’s influence on their school?.. it would be like captain america: civil war but the differences is it would be 23 ( i forgot how many hero student are there in speck) vs 7, i wonder who will win…nah… i know who will win, speck seven will😁

If I remember correctly, I think Eric hinted at one of the Breaking People And Things session being a battle between Speck Seven and the underdogs.

A vast majority of the school left after the attack. There’s only 16 students left.

So it’ll most likely be 9 people vs the Speck Seven.

Right there with you. Underdog characters are always more fun. Part of why I like Venture Brothers so much too. An item on my bucket list is to be a henchman in some sort of entertainment form at least once. Bond movie would be the ultimate, but I’d take whatever I could get. Might even happen, given that I live three miles from where they shoot all the Marvel movies.

I now deeply regret not focusing on Defense, then. And not just because I ended the game with a 2.5 GPA!

I guess its open!

I realize that since I closed the CCH Part 2 thread, and since beta hasn’t started yet, there’s no place to put CCH comments on the forums. But that’s okay, I’ve been busy writing and have limited time on the forums at present.

@AAO, we shall see! I remember doing a poll and folks thought it was one-sided. I actually don’t think it is

@hustlertwo, I think there might be a new “henchperson” themed WiP on the boards; did you happen to find it?

Can you really blame them?

With the exception of a few, most of the side characters have downright laughable power sets.

I honestly don’t see Hi Jinx or Pink Cavalier making it into the big leagues.

Well… the underdogs team still have Rain and Shine on their side, so… they still have a chance… a very little chance to win… but seriously i think professor mcCormick would not approve this civil war… she would probably give all the students on speck hero program detention for it

Rain, Shine, Quickie, all pose threats and with Gladiator’s buffs, could prevail. Friendzone’s powers would be a wildcard. Dr Hover, Cavalier, may not be huge factors but Hi Jinx could be a problem if she focuses her noise attacks. And there is one last student who hasnt been introduced.

I’m not so sure about Quickie. Considering either Stoic or DG can pretty much wreck him, I don’t really see him as a threat.

Friendzone’s powers may tip the battle to their cause, but it’s just like you said: it’s a wildcard. Her powers could also fail miserably and not do anything. Or worse, it could hinder her team mates.

I don’t know what to say about Hi Jinx. Seeing as I personally despise her, it’ll be fun bashing her face in.

Rain, Shine and Gladiator I can see as actual threats. But I think Rain wouldn’t be able to enter the fight, for spoilery reasons.

Also, the Speck Seven have Mob. Considering were going to be in a room with the entire student body, as well as a teacher or two, he gains some serious ass kicking potential.

I dunno, Quickie can knock out a different teammate before Stoic/DG can intervene, like an MC, or Tress. He is a glass cannon; three seconds of action, and then disappointment :stuck_out_tongue: And with Gladiators bard powers…

Considering that a level 3 Soldier/Acrobat barely gain any Ouch from Quickie’s tackle, I don’t see that.

But yeah, I guess if you were a Detective you wouldn’t want to get rammed by him.

I did indeed. Hopefully it manifests more fully sometime soon.

Can anything hurt Stoic? I went all noble and didn’t filch secrets in my playthrough, so nothing seemed to. Couldn’t even give her a raspberry. Seems like that would thwart anyone going up against them.

My guess is that she can’t deflect AND attack at the same time. When you look closely, there’s not one time where she actually attack, she stands in her opponent way, then push them back. Might be why. Or perhaps she can only deflet on one point at a time. That would explain how it’s possible to tie her up with the jump rope.

@AAO it is still a mystery to me as why you hate Hi-Jinx so much, well… she is annoying, i still hate her for what she does to me in captain california’s class, my detective MC can kick her butt easily without any powers, from all the people in speck i do not need her pity the most.

And you know what because i am in such a good mood today , i want to share a theory… have anyone ever suspected that the Wyvern might be that reporter from speck gazette who hates our school so much… i am really sorry i forgot his name

As far as we know, Stoics power is like a near skin tight (In the sense that it only, as far as we have seen extends a few centimeters off her clothes) force field, it appears to act as a constant barrier to most external stimulus, incluing low temperature extremes demonstrated by the her lack of reaction to the cold climate of Nebraska, and physical, and sonic (though sound, is just the vibrations of molecules, most of the time air, but really anything that is in contact, and capble of motion can act as a medium for sound…its why the quote about screaming in space is wrong, in space due to the sparsness of matter but not absence, people can hear you scream, its just by the time anyone hears it you will already be dead.) effects, shown clearly by Stunner.

The reason why just standing still works as an attack for stoic is that as far as we know, and that has been demonstrated, nothing appears to be able to effect Stoic, thanks to her barrier. You know newtons laws right? That means She ignors an object in motion stays in motion unless acted on by an outside force, and the equal and oposite reaction due to the fact that no outside force can effect her, as such if you run into her at any speed from 1 meter per second to 100 your going to instantly stop, which unless you have super durability is going to hurt alot.

Additional edit, I honestly wouldnt be surprised if there were ways around her power, after all even if you have a force field you still need to eat, drink and breath, or perhaps power nullification, like what the MC can or may get. but direct confrontations will likely be as onesided as a man who has lost his left leg and arm.
