I love helots how can anyone not? They’re so useful and easily controlled. I don’t even need to lie to them. Dealing with abusive and greedy nobles serves a purpose two fold. One it keeps the helots semi happy thus willing to die for me, and give their blood until i find another way to fuel my powers. Two it will keep my nobles from forgetting their place… beneath my iron fist like everyone else.
Secondly please please please Give us the opportunity to choke a dissenting noble darth vader style with theurgy!

Oh, but my character is Evil Gandhi. She knows she can’t get what she wants without the rabbits peasants surrounding her. She has no military personnel no fighting prowess and no magic. So what Mara could do? Lie Smile to the smelly commoners babies while imagine how she would crush on their pathetic lifespan wh3n she will reach the power a new dawn for aristocracy and the definitive subjugate of helots.

There are two separate achievements called “Maker of Change.” May want to differentiate the levels of theurgy, as it were.
Also, genderbug when talking to my guests in camp:
“Nonsense, my dear kurios de Serin,” Horion cries, sounding pleasantly dismissive. “It’s an honor to be your guest. As I’ve already said, the road to Szeric would have been quite unbearable without your hospitality and conversation.”
Alya de Serin is no “kurios,” as that would imply genitalia that she lacks.

@Havenstone: Just wanted to give you a thumbs-up for Horion’s explanation of the metaphysics of theurgy and telos. It describes something of how theurgy works to the player without a blatant infodump; instead, you wove it thoroughly into the narrative in an interesting way. Very nice writing, and I hope to see more of that exceptional exposition going forward.

Exactly, Imagine the no anarchy hippie totally charisma Mara speeches about Freedom for Noble in all nations and freedom of mind within Harrowings and mumbo yumbo magic. Then power and control of land and military. Peasants would be sudyugate all over again but this time old karagon will be the lower helots and classes will remain but turned.
One of my absolute favourite scenes as well. I’m extremely impressed with the whole book and the depth to which so many inspirations for and manifestations of rebellion are built into every different level of the narrative.

Out of curiosity how do you learn enough theurgy to heal the wounded leader after the fight with hector, im sure there’s a way since there is an achievement but for the life of me i can’t figure out what it is
Anyone know how to recruit Suzanna/Simon? I played as a Kurios and raided de Merre, practice Theurgy, ain’t getting him/her.
They don’t care if you’re common or noble, what interests them is the kind of rebellion you’re leading. Specifically, it has to do with your Anarchy stat. The threshold is around 13, I think. Any higher and you get Kalt/Kala instead.
You are killing and provoking chaos. No Simon for you. Karl you receive.
Also I don’t know how I suddenly reclaim a entire clan of shepherds peasant with wolf fetish. And capture some hector guys and let them there . All without any violence or show a weapon . Evil Gandhi is on the go. Also Breden will fall in my trap you spy traitor buuu Peasant.
Based one the question of the traitor I’ve always thought it’d seem to point to Radmar.
