Choice of Games and Hosted Games Recommendations -- Consolidated Thread

like the title say i am looking for wip recommendations while the kind of wip doesn’t really matter it’s preferred if it’s a kingdom building wip or something similar to the infinite universe (1 English isn’t my first language so the writing is filled with errors properly)

I’m just looking for some feel-good romance stories to pass the time until the next major release.

is this the right thread to find a specific recommendation of WIPs and released titles?

I’d like know if there is a book about solo adventuring, just between you and the environment, no romance, no drama, minimum NPC interactions, just a story about you focusing on the task at hand

I wanna start simple and small for my WIP, so I need references with similar scope, thank you

***I was from this thread but it’s not the right thread for my question

@Valda_Reehux I’m going to give you a selection of oddball games for this one. None fit exactly but you can sort through them and see if any appeal. The really hard one is no NPC interactions. I can’t think of any published CSGs on HG or COG that have no NPCs.

Zoopocalypse. Short multiple ending game. No ROs from memory. Does have some npc interactions that are unavoidable like the invaders. Probably closest to what you’re after.

Less adventuring and more slice of life, but some of the paths in day off work would otherwise probably fit.

Icepeak mountains perhaps (there are ROs but they are avoidable and not the focus. Some NPC interactions.) Very fighting fantasy-ish. Not simple in coding though.

My WIP phantasmagoria has a solo adventure you need to work through, but you do have a daemon hanging around speaking at times and a few other NPC interactions here and there so not 100% right either.

I do have a couple of short games up on itch that have limited to no NPCs and no ROs but they are quite short and often a bit random so may not be suitable either. Slicked (oil spill assessor simulator), Into darkness (no NPCs but written as poetry), Planetfall (just you and a robot), Ocean’s call (limited NPC interactions, a lot of you and the environment until the ending sequences.) https://jaciaa.itch.io/

I wish there was a search bar with tags for the games, but in the meantime… if that’s ok, this is yet another topic to list games with an archetype of RO/FO.

Can you recommand to me games that would let me romance, or have a friendship, or friendly rivalry,

with a supernatural or fantastic being
who is neither an undead like a vampire, ghost, zombie, etc. nor a god affiliated to chaos, nor a gender-locked female.

Like, a cinamon roll.
But a supernatural or fantasy cinamon roll with powers.

Whois not a gender-locked female.

That’s. So. Rare.

Almost all those I found on the whole web, were m/f or f/f.

Gimmie super powered cinammon maybe please :honey_pot:

This is a very specific request, and the only one that I can think of that fits the bill kinda is Vanja Falk (NB, snakeperson). They are your coworker in Social Services of the Doomed. It’s not a romance heavy game, but I liked it a lot.

And maybe Blane Rekner (half fae) from When Twilight Strikes (it’sa WIP on itch.io). But as of now he’s just a total jerk, so I’m not sure what’s underneath that really unappealing exterieur.

The djinn in The Dragon and the Djinn is a supernatural being and has their gender matching the PC’s, and is a lot of fun.

I haven’t played it yet but in Forbidden Magic you can romance a shapeshifter or a devil.

In Their Majesties’ Pleasure, you can romance a Fae. And it’s not strictly supernatural, but in Downfall you can romance aliens.

In Atlantis Academy you can romance a selfie or a siren, and in The Sea Eternal you can romance a fellow mermaid.

In Professor of Magical Studies you can romance a cosmic entity.

A Crown of Sorcery and Steel has elf, orc, and dwarf ROs. I personally think vid is a cinnamon roll
Teahouse of the Gods mayyybe? If you’re okay with just friendship…

First, thanks for the rec. I thought Dear Diary, We Created a Plot Hole! (A Slice-of-Life Fantasy Adventure) was about children?
Is there a romance with a non-human non-undead non-female-only character there?

I meant:

  • a search bar with filters on the website.
I buy all of my games from the website because I read on e-ink devices, and it’s the only way I can play from everywhere without having to buy the same game multiple times. The website started selling games before they were available on mobile, so I expected that their front there would get at least as much attention. Because, now that there are so many games, it’s difficult to find older ones if we don’t exactly remember their name to use Ctrl+F. Something more user friendly would be nice.

  • with tags that I am looking for. at least relationship or gender, like how they do on the website to list Heart Choice games.
The actual tagging of the omnibus app seems to focus solely on vampires (2 tags for vampires specifically—they are the only species of undead, of supernaturals, of species represented for some reason, 2 tags for supernatural (which halso help narrowing the result to vampires), only 1 tag for science-fiction, nothing for xenofiction, nothing for contemporary, no tags for PC species, no tags for RO species, no rating for adult contents).
Maybe it would not take much time to someday add a search bar on the website pages with the list of games, with tags for

    • Genre (genres can be much better than what is of omnibus): slice-of-life, adventure, xenofiction, sleuth, etc.
    • Gender: v, f, m
    • Relationship (the tilde includes either friendship, romance, or rivalry or both): v~v, f~m, f~f, etc.
    • World settings: past, contemporary, future
    • PC species (not just supernatural, but for any non-human state): cat, spirit, angel, elf, vampire, human , dragon, ai
    • Rating (of themes like player coercing or murdering, ‘graphical’ violence, and erotic content, not just the later): 1, 2, 3
They can decide what tags are pertinent from how their games qualify. Just be less partial to vampires now.

But it’s a request. Not a complain.

Thank you. Yeah, a RI has to be a complete cinnamon roll, besides of not being fully human. ^^ Otherwise, nah it does count.
And also, not female gender-locked because I know there are already plenty games with those.
And not an undead (sorry for being picky).

yep! But if you dont want it to be about children, it probably wouldn’t suit you.

:hushed:, I think thats something the COG staff would need to fix.

Candid from “In the service of Mrs Clause”. A christmas elf who is pretty sweet and friendly. They also have shapeshifting powers.

(Wait these tags are unfamiliar —those like tips and coder: is this screenshot from the omnibus app or from dashingdon?)

It’s on the forum - you can filter threads by those tags.

Looking for IF games where our protagonist is an eldritch abomination spreading his madness , , gaining followers, leveling up , devouring world anything like that i have found some those didn’t my taste some was basically something romance sht nt my taste

or mc is a cult leader servant of a outer god spreading his great wisdom anything like that , going against government or holy church, preparing the world for the arrival of old ones:joy::laughing:

The more you fall into madness you shall feel eternal bliss

Sigh can’t send gif gotta leavel up
Well if anyone got anything near like that so do recommend

In The Passenger you play as an eldricht abomination. In the later part of the game fooling a cult is involved.

One of the romance options in A Kiss From Death is an abomination and cult leader which you can join.

You can kinda summon an eldritch abomination in The Bread Must Rise and have one stuck in your head in Professor of Magical Studies :joy:

Have tried those not the thing I was looking for,i want something solely focused on outer gods , eldritch abomination,Lovecraftian lores and cult building and all sht with grimdsrk settings
Looks like currently there’s nothing like that here or who knows some hidden gem is out there :pensive:,
only hope in future some authors make it or something
