Choice of Games and Hosted Games Recommendations -- Consolidated Thread

Interesting.

First of all, not everyone likes or feels comfortable writing romance. If you want a romance simulator, check out Heart’s Choice.

Second of all, Imprisoned is a short and very “game-y” game, not a proper interactive novel. The PC spends almost the entire game alone in a cell, and the game ends when they either escape or die.

Third of all, Imprisoned was the fifth ever game released under the HG label, and none of the previous games they had released included romance either. Of the next dozen games they released, only a couple included romance. The expectation that games should include romance simply hadn’t been established.

Oh.

A post was merged into an existing topic: The Nebula (WIP, update 26th June 2015)

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve seen anyone working on or published an American wild west themed story. The last great one I read, and still one of the best games of all time imo, was Tin Star. Are there any western themed WIPs in the pipeline?

I always recommend tin star by Allen gies, for anyone new here you canvsearch his profile in forum. It have 1 million word, robust story, choice that do really matter and good multiple ending

So yeah agreed with you sadly there still no new wild west story most new cog and hog is still midieval story plus fantasy setting

There was a Wild West centered WIP called The Ballad of Devil’s Creek that would had been for HG but the author for it decided to sever ties with the CoG community and moved the WIP to itchio. But there is one more Wild West centered story for the CoG called Showdown at Willow Creek

I imagine it’s been asked before, so my apologies if this is considered a faux pa in the community. I’ve not had much interaction or experience with the forums, but I hope to over time. :slightly_smiling_face:

As the title states, are there any other stories like the Dragoon Saga? (Sabres of Infinity, etc). Flintlock fantasy is perhaps a term for it. Though I’m also quite open to any which you take roles of command or otherwise lead people :crossed_swords:

I also quite liked the Werewolves story; I think there was two of them out? It was ages ago by internet standards. I’m certain many great stories have been created since then. :+1:

EDIT: Thank you for moving the post to the correct space!

Choice of Rebels and Siege of Treboulain may be of interest for great games about fantasy-leadership in turbulent times! A Study in Steampunk is also an excellent gaslamp Victorian-flavoured game (gender-locked to male).

If you liked the Werewolves series you may enjoy Parliament of Knives which is a political Vampire the Masquerade game by the same author :slightly_smiling_face:

That sounds lovely, I will have to give them a look then. Thank you for the recommendations!

Can you please tell me what SoR, GT, and GT2 mean?

Probably Sword of Rhivenia, Grand Tournament, and Grand Tournament 2

Ah, thanks.

Exactly what the title says. Are there any with a a similar theme? I’m just curious.

(Original title was asking about games where the MC is a villain’s assistant.)

Like the title says. Is there any Splinter Cell like games? I liked the Splinter Cell games up till “Splinter Cell Conviction” where outside the story, you can play as one of these two other agents that had a more ninja like outfit like some of Sam Fisher’s outfit and you can even do Co-Op in that mode and I loved it. (Especially whenever I start shooting the lights and stuffs just to hear the enemies starts cursing and freaking out. Was very funny for me lol!).

I have the Agent 180 game and I haven’t played it much yet but I know that game is more like a 007 type of game since it’s about spies. I want or hope to see something similar but with a Splinter Cell theme (including the ninja agent outfit) that would consist of us assassinating targets, delivering/escorting packages or people, working with other agents on the mission and even hanging out with them outside of it (with maybe the chance of some small or big events happening during it), deciding where your allegiance lies, etc.

Kind of a weird one – are there any games that allow you to set food/drink preferences, and/or that occasionally feature mealtime scenes? I’m back to working full-time, and when I grabbed my coffee for the morning I thought, ‘man I’d like to play an IF where I’m having a morning coffee’.

Teahouse of the Gods is full of food.

Yes!! I actually played that one back in May, based on your recommendation, and I really loved it… Maybe I’ll revisit & do a new romance route this time

There are some tasty scenes in Royal Affairs, too, although you don’t really get a choice other than whether you drink alcohol or not.
