It’s been dead for about a decade, but it exists.
So it’s not being worked on anymore?
Not being worked on? It’s finished. It was released in 2011.
It was? I didn’t know. Edit: I don’t see it on Steam so I guess it’s on the CoG site somewhere?
It was never released on Steam. You can find it on the CoG website, the Hosted Games omnibus, or as an individual mobile app.
What’s the Hosted Game omnibus? And is it still called “Your Fantasy Story of Imprisoned” or something different?
It’s just called Imprisoned. And the Hosted Games omnibus is a mobile app that contains every Hosted Games release in one place. You can find it on Google Play here:
I typed Imprisoned before on this site and the closest I could find was “Seeking Redemption: Imprisoned WIP”. The only other one is a discussion thread of “Thoughts on Imprisoned”.
Yes, “Thoughts on Imprisoned” is the discussion thread I linked you to a few posts ago. But you were searching the CoG forum, not the CoG website.
I thought their forum function as their website. Edit: Nvm that message.
The first link I gave you was for the game on the CoG website.
I found it. I just wished that it explained how many words it has along with the usual stuffs like Summary, Features, ROs, etc instead of going straight to the game. So are the only race options Humans, Elves, Dwarves and I guess some mutant variant? Or can you only be a mutant human if you wanted to be a mutant?
Raiders of Icepeak Mountains allows you to play as various races (human, elf, half-elf, dwarf, halfling, gnome, orc, half-orc… the game does respond in some instances to the choice of race, and in some instances also to the gender and race… the races are also somewhat connected to the gods in the game, with the favour of a particular god in some cases determining the outcome of some encounters/events).
My first WIP (still not published), The Nebula, also has different races based on the type of planet you come from (Martian-class human, etc)… sadly I seem to never get around to working on that game, despite the fact it is finished and just needs me to finish revising and rewriting it…
Tnx for the info and can you send me a link to Nebula in case I might want to look at it?
Oh wow, its been 5 years since I last worked on that… I really need to get this finished. Maybe when I finish the DLC for Tokyo Wizard… let me know what you think!
What’s the difference between them other than the obvious appearances? Like abilities and physical or mental attribute that they can use for example.
Here’s the summary and word count of Imprisoned from the omnibus app. The races you can play are human, elf, and dwarf. There are no ROs.
The Nebula is, like most of my games, more of a gamebook than IF (the definition being blurred anyway). The races in both this game and Icepeak Mountains do affect your starting attributes, which in turn greatly affect the game… (copy-pasting some of the code below)
#Martian-type human (Tall aggressive humans adapted to surviving in arid low-gravity worlds such as Mars).
Taking their name from the planet of Mars,
you belong to a subgroup of humans with genetic characteristics that make you particularly apt to surviving in dry worlds with a gravity somewhat lower than that of Earth.
You are able to breathe in atmospheres with a wide range of oxygen concentrations, and your skin can tolerate lower atmospheric pressures.
The low gravity present in your homeworld has made you taller than the average human, though your thin body is devoid of muscle mass.
Intense and fierce competition for resources has made the people from your planet rather aggressive, nurturing a fierce fighting culture,
despite your lack of natural strength.
*set race “Martian human”
*set strength -5
*set agility +15
*set psyche +5
*set intelligence -5
*goto gender
#Pluto-type human (White-skinned and born in a planet with large underground mining low-gravity cities).
Taking their name from the planet of Pluto, your barren low-gravity home-world was at the edge of a solar system.
Due to the lack of any atmosphere, your people live in underground complexes. Like many in your planet you come from a familly of miners,
and genetic modifications have lead to small individuals that can easily move along underground mining passages.
The lack of need for muscle mass to operate in such planets has made you rather thin, skeletal almost, by the standards of other humans.
The absence of any sunlight has also removed the need for skin pigmentation, making you an albino.
However,
your lack of physical strength is compensated by having somehow higher intelligence and a wide knowledge of the operation of machinery and other forms of technology.
*set race “Pluto human”
*set strength -5
*set endurance -5
*set intelligence +15
*set agility +10
*goto gender
NO ROMANCE OPTIONS!? That’s crazy!
