Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

Anyway, back to the topic of how the hell Saint exists.
If we’re going by mythology, I wouldn’t put Zeus above turning himself into a shower of gold or a swan again to get into Priscilla’s pants again.

“The deal was that Zeus and the other Olympians would never speak to you again, but I, a divine goose, am honking at you. Veeeeery different.”

And them wham bam thank ya ma’am, Saint was born.

Question…does he just bleach his hair or he constantly overstressed? Because his full head of white hair make my Bearers nervous for their own luscious locks.

Silver/white hair was actually a trend, it was pretty popular last year I think. Maybe it’s for stylish reasons or because he inherited those looks from Zeus.

Zeus, the God who can destroy mountains, blast lightning and is the King of the sky…
Yet, he can’t do one simple thing such as keeping it in his pants.

To be fair, the Great Divine Goose doesn’t wear pants.

He really should though because geese penii are the stuff of nightmares.

Well, if Saint is only eleven months younger than the Bearer, then he would have been conceived no more than two months after the Bearer’s birth. Does it say that Pricilla left the moment the Bearer was born? It’s possible she stuck around a few months to nurse the baby.

Also, I think Hermes is the traitor god: knows everyone, but no one really knows him; the messenger god, so who better to deliver the Bearer to Athena; and technically in charge of the Seekers, who became the Hunters, and he “has no idea how that happened”.

I think we were 1 year old when the gods took us from Mc mother.

If that’s the case, then Pricilla would still have been on Olympus when Saint was born.

I’m pretty sure Priscilla left immediately after the Bearer’s birth.

At least that’s what I’ve gathered from the very first scene.

Someone please enlighten me if I’m wrong though.

in the diary, she said she was pregnant after she gave birth to mc. so that would mean that she stay for sometime after we were born. probably a month or weeks.

There’s one thing that bothers me the most about Priscilla. How did… she die? No one, not even Zeus or Athena told us about how she passed away. Was it natural causes, suicide or was she murdered by the traitor god working for Cronus?

puts on a tinfoil hat I believe I may had stumbled across a conspiracy… And this may keep me up at nights for a long time.

Same! :point_up_2:t2:

There’s no real mention of her cause of death (if anyyyyyyy…hmmmmmm), only that she’s dead, and apparently didn’t die until we were like seven.

Or maybe that’s just what they want you to think…

Crack Theory Time!

I believe that Priscilla is still alive.
My proof?
Literally nothing, but that doesn’t stop my guts from intuiting that she may still be alive (or I’m hungry…or bored, it’s difficult to differentiate at times).

Since we don’t get to know how she died, I think it’s either (a) meant to be a dramatic reveal later on or (b) she’s not dead and is just hiding. Faking her own death might have been the only way to make sure the gods would leave her alone rather than just find some loophole to mess with her. I doubt Zeus would let her walk away easily.

Hermes is definitely a good candidate to be the traitor god working for Cronus but I feel like we’re missing someone else.

Hades.

Yes you heard me, Uncle Henry is one of my suspects that he’s working for Cronus. Remember, all of these scenes between Athena and Hades meeting in secret implies that both of them are willing to do anything for the Bearer out of love. What if Hades was willing to go as far as to betray Olympus for the safety of the Bearer from Cronus? Think of Snape from Harry Potter, we all legit thought he was working for Voldemort but all of the things in the series, he only did these for Harry.

True.

Maybe Hades’ reason for helping raise the Bearer, while also keeping an eye on Aeson, was so he could keep them apart. If they never come together, the prophecy can never be fulfilled, etc, etc.

I don’t think he had anything to do with the rogue Seekers though, seeing as they were really aggressive. Unless that’s why he’s hesitant about bringing A/S/B back when you ask.

Well here’s my reasons.
1.) In the beginning, Cronus was basically a giant ghost trapped in the Underworld in a dream-like state that Hades put him in after the Titan War.
2.) If I remember my Greek mythology correctly (which I’m hoping since it’s a bit rusty) is that Hermes probably never met Cronus in person since it seems as if the Titan War happened before any of Zeus’ children was born.
3.) If anyone would know where Cronus is at, three people would know and it’s the Big Three. Hades is one of them so obviously he knows what’s going on behind the scenes with his father and his brothers.
4.) It’s quite possible that Hermes does not know everything like he would like to tell you, I mean, eons alone wouldn’t be enough to learn everything unless you were a devoted student which Hermes doesn’t seem to be, he’s too relaxed for that stuff. But Hades… Hades has been around since the beginning with Posideon and Zeus. And like Zeus, he seems like he would be a devoted student to learn as much as he can.
5.) Hades put him in a dream like state but it’s also possible that Hades was beginning to wean him off of it at the prologue to start his endgame that involves the Bearer (whatever that may be).
6.) His own son just happens to be the Bestower so it’s also possible that he just wants the two of you to be safe away from Cronus because who knows what Cronus will do when he gets hold of both the Bestower and the Bearer? Most likely he’s going to pull off Darth Sidious/Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker thing off by having these two as his students as he reshapes (or destroy) the universe in his vision.

I think I just mind screwed myself. I got a headache now after thinking about that…

I like your optimism regarding Hades and Athena, @MichaelCrank! Though I don’t really share it.

I understand Athena’s reluctance of raising the Bearer to be a living weapon, but I very much doubt that she did it out of love for the Bearer.

For one, the Bearer wasn’t even two, they had very little personality to begin with and mythic Athena was never known to enjoy the company of children. I really doubt she had any strong feelings for the Bearer beside their being the child of Priscilla. There simply wasn’t anything for a person like Athena to love, really.

Personally, I think she just read the room and acted accordingly.
I mean, think about it.
Ares is a step away from killing you in the throne room were it not for the intervention of the Big Three. If the Bearer had stayed on Olympus during their most vulnerable years, who’s to say that an accident wouldn’t have befallen them at the ripe old age of 2 and 3/4, especially when they had half the damn pantheon against their very existence?

So Athena, who seemingly genuinely believes that the Bearer will defeat Cronus (thus ensuring the survival of the gods), makes sure that the Bearer is far away from any such accidents or assassination attempts, and it is only over the course of raising this damn child that she comes to love them, not before. That’s my argument.

As for Hades…

It’s been mentioned that Hades is the…least objectionable of the gods, in terms of…scruples, I guess.
It could just be Hades being Hades, honestly, and with Athena being the Bearer’s guardian, him conspiring with Athena seems to have just come with the territory.

But I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention this one weird bit that stood out to me the first time I played the demo:

The man [Uncle Henry] places his hand on the woman’s [Athena’s] cheek, and a warm sense of love fills the room. You are lulled into sleep by their soft voices.

I’m not sure about you guys, but the first time I played, without knowing their real identities, I immediately thought, “Ohhhhh, riiiiight, he’s Aunt Alive’s friend, gotcha. Wink wink.”

This is much more easily jossed than my other arguments, but I’d say that Hades and Athena may have (or have had)…a thing.

Also, I lied. It was just one weird thing…it’s many weird things.

Exhibit B:

Aeson frowns. “I always did wonder how he did it, you know. How he was in both our lives. I’m guessing when he wasn’t with you and Athena, he was with me and my mother.”

The parallels in that sentence are evident.

EXHIBIT C:

“I need you, Hades,” she says. “You made a promise to me, all those years ago. I am here to collect that debt.”

Hades shakes his head, turning away. “Promises can be broken just as easily as they can be made, something you are no doubt familiar with.”

Athena stares at the god’s back, her eyes narrowing. “It is past time to put personal feelings aside,”

“You know nothing of personal feelings,” Hades turns around to face the goddess, his voice raising. “There is no amount of love that is enough to stir your heart!”

I mean…come on.

EXHIBIT D:

Hades does not reply, but instead looks at Athena with a mixture of hatred and love in his dark eyes. The room is silent. The tension between the god of the Underworld and the goddess of wisdom is one that has been building up with love and betrayal for centuries.

So my guess is…Hades was in your childhood because…I mean…it was probably the closest he’d get to…getting with Athena, and that’s probably why he didn’t betray her location and ended up splitting time between you and Aeson (and presumably, Persephone…perhaps).

Speaking of Persephone… EXHIBIT E, BITCHES:

*disable_reuse #“Did you love her?”
*if dad1 = true
Hades closes his eyes. “Of course.”

You stare at the God and the evident pain on his face. “What about…what about Persephone?”

Hades’ eyes open. “I asked myself that same question.”

(Note: This is no longer canon since Hades isn’t our father anymore, but I found this exchange veeeery interesting indeed when I was snooping through the code.)

So yeah…like with Athena, I don’t think Hades necessarily had the Bearer’s intentions at heart when the Bearer was first taken into hiding. It’s only over time that they grew to love the Bearer.

Now, as I was snooping around the code, I also found that Hades tells you that Priscilla’s soul/spirit is in the Underworld, so…yeah, I guess I really was just feeling hungry, lol. Oops, y’all, my bad.

And as for who the Traitor God is…I’m gonna need to do a closer read of the game because that seems to be a more central mystery than whether or not Priscilla is alive in some weird zombie manner or whatever. There’s just so many possible suspects.

Hades could still be the traitor, there’s nothing indicating he isn’t, actually. Zeus is…a garbage god, so he’s definitely a possibility. Ares…I don’t think he is, actually.
But Hermes, that punk bitch, I don’t trust him. He’s too smiley and mischievous.
Hestia, despite being female, would at times have a phallus appear in her flames, representing her male aspect, so she could have a male disguise she takes to interact with humans…plus she hates our guts.
And we don’t know jack about Eros. Where has he been this whole time, hmm?

For all we know, it’s freakin’ Pan, god of rape and Peruvian pan flute bands.

Or maybe even Dionysis? Ancient Athenian philosophers theorized that Apollo and Dionysis represented Order and Chaos, respectively. One could argue that the current dissemination of power through the Essence’s creations (Gaia, Uranus, Chaos, Nyx, Tartarus, and Eros) and the creation’s own creations (the Titans, the gods, humans, etc), represents an imbalance in favor of Order and he instead desires to tip it back into a more Chaotic fold…or something, because Cronus is probably a punk bitch who can’t actually handle the Essence on his own???

…idk man, I’m spitballin’

I’m laughing to the point of tears at the idea of Cronus peeing his pants when it comes to the Essence. But yeah, as I said before, Hermes is definitely a good candidate for it. Hell if you asked me to come up with a list of possible suspects then it’d be Hermes, Hades and Zeus. Yeah I’m calling Zeus a suspect but I have no legit proof for it but I just don’t like the guy himself. But personally I’m hoping that Priscilla is still alive just so I can get a chance to cuss her and Zeus out for being shitty parents and not being there for us when we needed it. As you said before, when the Bearer was born, they were viewed as nothing more than the weapon to be involved in the war that ends all wars but it was mentioned that the entire gods would had their turns raising the Bearer and training them in their own areas of speciality, so we would had been raised by that asshole, Ares, at one point then tossed aside to Athena then tossed aside to Hades then to Zeus. Every god would had a chance to share their beliefs with the Bearer and maybe, they might had a better relationship but I doubt it with my MC, Aegon, since he’s pretty spiteful towards Olympus aside from Athena and Hades.

Priscilla is dead. As for the cause of her death, she gripped the wrong ledge while climbing a mountain and fell to her death. It’s in the code if you’re curious.

Well that’s pretty anti-climactic.

Here’s the bit on it in the code:

Spoilers ahead

June 19th, 2006

There is a high mountain near the stream that Fae’heir has been raving to me about. He says you can see the curve of the world if you look closely enough. He says the sky is painted a million colors at sunset, the wind pushing back the clouds with determination. I say he’s full of it, but I know my curiousity will drive me there.

I also know that I will die.

I will grip the wrong ledge, and the ancient stone will fall away underneath my fingers and I will plunge. I’ll fall onto my back from a nearly two hundred feet in the air, and my head will meet the hard stone with a deafending thump.

I have seen this vision over a dozen times this month. When it comes in the harsh light of day, when the little fae are around me and the elders are singing, I let it overcome me. When it comes in my hazy dreams, dreams filled with gods and wars and titans, I let it come.

And when my death arrives, I will let it come. I will grip the wrong ledge, and I will fall.

It is a kinder death than I deserve.

If she isn’t dead, she will be soon. My MC hates everything god-related.
