Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

To be honest, the only one out of the three who I can see getting a kick out of this in all its entirety (unironically) is Aphrodite

[Whether to spite Helen and/or her son – especially if it’s an issue of control – seems to be up her alley]

Hermes is a stretch for now, despite being called fickle by Rohie on tumblr but we’ll see, given his current situation about his son and what not.

[Not touching the Apollo debate]

In the mean time, I’m indulging my fam feels by writing Saint and MC fic :)) I can drop excerpts if anyone’s interested

I’m all on board to have my need for family feels being satiated.

Speaking of Helen though:

I know @Rohie stated that she is one of the possible end romances the Bearer can have if they stay single by the end of the game. But this has brought up a big question for me: How will Helen even know that the Bearer who stands before is technically the Korrina/Leon from her past in a way? Will there be a moment in the story when the Bearer ends up meeting her face to face and she says something only she and Korrina/Leon understand, which makes her put two and two together about why this Demigod feels eerily familiar and why Aphrodite didn’t want her to meet them?

Anyone got guesses on how the romances from the Bearer’s past lives may connect who they currently are with who they knew a LONG time ago?

Alright guys, Helen is alive? I’m pretty confused since it was a long time ago I played the demo. Is Helen immortal or is she a god of some sort? Unless there’s something i’m missing in the mythology and the stories.

Helen is alive; Aphrodite confirms this when she and the Bearer talk about the Trojan War and the Bearer asks about Helen. She is also immortal, though she possibly looks a bit older than the current Bearer at this point.

If Leon/Korrina were close friends with Helen, Aphrodite complains about the fact Helen mourned their death for 60 years and blamed Aphrodite for being part of the reason she lost her friend. If Leon/Korrina loved Helen, you learn that the feelings were mutual on her end as well; in this case, Helen mourned their death for a full century, had a small picture of them and flat out told Aphrodite that the Goddess of Love’s actions prevented her from being with her true love.

Your right :slightly_smiling_face:forget I asked

Hey everyone :~) I’ve just double checked with Rohie, and Aphrodite and Hermes are no longer slated flings! You can flirt with Aphrodite, but nothing beyond that. Apollo is still on. Sorry!

Can’t romance Aphrodite? Oh well at least there’s still calypso :relaxed:

Helen, huh? Seems like I might just got my second option for a RO. Idk about you guys but being with a woman who indirectly started a war based on her beauty would be a very interesting thing to watch. It just sounds like a soap opera that’s a train wreck that you just can’t ignore because you’re so fascinated by what could happen next.

Damon is a Gryffindor, a fir wand, and a lion patronus.

Nyx is a Slytherin, with a thestral patronus. Not sure about her wand.

…how many Nyx MC’s are there like I think I’ve counted 4(?) or 5(?) so far

I hope that we can establish it’s them but not them? And they work on that so it doesn’t seem like loving a shadow/the idea of who they were

The name Nyx has basically become a meme on this thread.
Might as well dedicate a fanfic for it.

Has anyone figured out the timeline of Priscilla, the MC, and Saint? The MC was newly born when she left but Saint is around 11 months younger than the MC

So does that mean then that Saint was conceived outside of Olympus (evidence is the photo of Priscilla holding him as a baby)? If so that means Zeus didn’t stop seeing her until…when? I’m not sure if that violates the terms of her contract since we don’t know what it exactly entails other than the gods swearing that they would allow her to leave after birthing the MC. But if she wanted out of Olympus, I’d imagine that comes with any contact with the gods

[You might chalk it up to her having a “complicated” relationship with Zeus but idk, seemed pretty clear that she wanted nothing to do with them with how angry and vehement she was when dealing with the traitor god]

Athena also mentions she didn’t steal the MC away until they were one. And was also aware of Saint’s existence – so the news of Priscilla having a second child with Zeus was not secret. I can’t imagine that this would sit well with the rest of Olympus and if that had any bearing with the prophecy

[Am I making sense or are these just rambling thoughts]

From what I do understand so far is that supposedly Athena was already good friends with Priscilla so I would imagine both of them keeping in contact for a while after she left Olympus. But I am sure for whatever reason, Zeus went to Priscilla wherever she went after her leaving and that ended up with Saint. It was also mentioned that Priscilla was alive for the MC’s first seven years in his/her life so it’s possible that Athena still stayed in touch with her up until her death. But I’m somewhat irked that Saint got to have a picture with Priscilla which would imply that the little twerp got to spend more time with her than we got to, so that sours my view on him. The gods themselves probably didn’t really care much about Saint since he isn’t really the Bestower or the Bearer. Athena took the MC away at one year old and Saint was born nearly a year after the MC, right? So that would mean the MC was still on Olympus so most likely the gods themselves didn’t really care at all when Saint was born because they already had the Bearer and Aeson on Olympus, but Athena and indirectly, Hades, would end up “kidnapping” the MC a month later.

Well, now that Zeus is the only father the Bearer can have, I imagine the name ‘Nyx’ is going to become a even more popular choice for the female Bearers. Can’t beat the appeal of being named after one of the few individuals in existence who legitimately terrifies the King of the Gods.

I actually have a Nyx Bearer myself who was created to be a daughter of Zeus to begin with. In some ways, she doesn’t seem to live up to her namesake, but in other (more frightening) ways, she’s quite connected to the strength harbored in her name (though now I also liked to imagine that Pricilla gave her that name partly because of a ironic sense of humor and partly to give Zeus a enteral middle finger).

I’d love to see the current Bearer sit down and talk with the immortals who had connections with their pasts selves. I feel like some of the ROs from the Bearer’s past may even be uninterested in attempting a relationship with the current one due to each having a different idea of what makes the Bearer so different from each of their pas lives (like some may think ‘the one I loved has long since past; you’re more akin to their descendant).

It’d be nice to give a few of them some possible closure if they happened to lose the Bearer from their lifetime in the same abrupt way that Helen did (really wish I could’ve saw how she reacted the moment she learned about the death of her close friend or person who she truly had romantic feelings for) or to see how the Bearer’s bond caused them to grow as individuals. It’d be especially interesting if these people connected to the Bearer’s past decided to help the Bearer in some way out of some feelings of respect/loyalty/love for the Bearer’s past life.

I wonder how much this is really the bearer being the bearer and not the gods enacting upon the prophecy. The best way I can explain this is like in HP when Voldy pretty much went after the Potters despite Neville being an equal candidate for said prophecy because he was convinced it was them being talked about

So because of that the MC was doomed lmao

That’s the curious part. If Zeus could visit her anytime technically speaking, what’s stopping the other gods from doing the same? It’s like saying “Priscilla you can leave but that doesn’t mean we can’t randomly drop in”

So that would mean their deal was moot :)) since Priscilla wanted to leave and call quits with the Olympus, it seems odd she wouldn’t have the foresight (hehe) to have them swear on this.

Again, the most explicit mention is that they swore she could leave. But the story didn’t say if they also swore to leave her alone (which brings us into that loop hole) especially when she already had the experience of the gods – Zeus in particular – stalking her

Now even if the gods had little use for her after that, it still seems unlike them to not keep the option open. I mean Aphrodite alone seems the type to inconvenience you if it best suited her :)) and given how rare prophets are, it seems unlikely as well that they won’t keep that option open unless forced

Very likely? Although I do remember vaguely in earlier versions that Athena had free reign to raise the MC wherever with random checks by the gods until she decided to leave anyway

On one hand true. On the other hand, this probably is an added reason why Priscilla continues to be a devisive person. Am sure Hera in particular would have all the more reason to hate her :)) and by extension Saint

My Nyx was a daughter of Zeus anyway.

Mine was a daughter of tuna dad.
I never liked rapey dad, he even treated his children like shit in the myths.
Metis (his former wife) was pregnant with Athena, and Zeus was told that Metis would give birth to a child that was powerful enough to overthrow him.
So he basically ate his pregnant wife and Athena came out of his head.

As one often does, I’m sure.

Cronus (who is Zeus’ father) actually swallowed Zeus and his brothers. Like father like son.
