Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

I would honestly be suprised about that. We got some pretty definitely explanations about the whys of the decision to use that choice as a randomiser for the fathers and also got told various times that it would not be changed.

So, yeah, I would be somewhat suprised should it be changed after all of that.

Just finished the demo for the first time, and wow! When I first saw this game, I wrote it off as being a little too close to a certain series I read when I was younger, but this is definitely one of the better WIPs here. It manages to build its own identity, along with a solid group interesting characters (and interpretations of mythological figures, of course). I’m invested, I want to get to the bottom of these Olympic conspiracies and win my immortality, no matter what it takes.

Did have one glaring glitch though, in the main introductory scene where you pick your name. I picked from male names, but was then brought to the page for female names, and it seemed to give me options for male and female characters? (Can male characters casually where uniform dresses?)

It’s a known bug. Author is working on a rewrite as we speak. Just choose to skip the intro and it will just outright ask you your gender, first and last names in order to work around it. Also the MC can choose male or female attire.

Ya, in Olympus, women rule!

we force guys to wear minis and low-cut gowns just so we can enjoy the scenery …

I kid but it still is an amusing bug.

I think is not a bug at all. I think game support cross dressing

Well, she was consistently aggressive in her interactions with the MC. That’s not really a good way to appeal to most people, no? I guess it’s warranted if one really did kill her brother but there are also people who didn’t.

My MC does feel a tinge of regret over killing Sage’s brother even if she is deluding herself that it was completely self-defense (w/c it kind of is but he was already defenseless when she was pushing the knife near his throat and she could’ve stopped there but didn’t.). She lets Sage be aggressive to her for the most part and would even apologize if prompted but she’s stoic otherwise.

First played the game very recently, but here are my character’s thoughts on Sage:

Doesn’t hate her, but she’s dangerous. Hates him to the point of murder and very willing to tell people why and do something about it. He killed Saxon and he doesn’t regret it, but the last thing he needs is for people to know he did it, or even seriously suspect it. To win, he needs friends and allies on Olympus, and Sage is an unacceptable fly in the ointment that needs dealing with, one way or another.

I am still waiting for the option to just apologize on the spot. Would save a lot of trouble considering all the confessions sound patronizing.

Though my mc doesn’t care, in fact can’t care, that he killed Saxon.

“I’m sorry Sage, I wanted bone daddy (Hades).”

I’m iffy on the self defense even without the killing, with the killing I don’t think we have a good excuse at all especially counting meta knowledge.

If you get hades as father dose that mean the other essence is our brother

Yup! Aeson is always Hades kid.

I feel bad for Persephone.

Why feel bad for Persephone

There are other reasons to kill Saxon. My MC did it to avenge the friend you lose (we ever going to hear anything else about them?) and Alice, and to send a message: hunt me at your own peril. If you don’t stop, neither will I.

:astonished: Kai: I didn’t know my hugs were so powerful. You’re supposed to be stressed and devastated not turn into some flirt. pats head So sweet though.

I just realized this! Do you watch Vampire Diaries? There’s two character’s names Damon and Kai but they tried to kill each other multiple times. Damon killed Kai in the end though…that won’t be my ending.

Mhm, to a certain extent I do have to play differently than I would react in real life. For example, I would’ve killed Sage, threatened Hera, and honestly Santiago stole my lines. He say’s shit that I would say so I was confused when he was roasting me.

I don’t know…I might try to play a different type of personality once the whole game is completed. Yeah, @poison_mara character is funny to me. Could I play a character like her’s though? I don’t know. I’d need more information about her character. Her character seems very cautious and suspicious of everyone. Ready to kill if it’s needed. Or at least that’s how the character seems like from what I’ve read.

Right? I don’t know what planet Aeson is on by calling that woman his mother, but if that’s how he feels…:expressionless: I don’t want to communicate with her…I just don’t trust her. I wouldn’t be surprised if she tried to kill all of us in the end because of Hades having children on the side.

Yeah, I agree with this. It would be disrespectful to Priscilla to call Athena our mother. I believe she would’ve raised us if given the chance obviously. I wonder how Saint feels about her or what type of information he knows of her? That’ll be cool to meet her soon by ourselves. No other lurking creatures in the background spying and eavesdropping on us.

Ohhh, my bad. The only thing her presence does is tempt me to shoot her. I wouldn’t care about the trials or going to trial for killing her and her brother. I’m going to boldly state “Yes, I did kill them… and?”

I’m just waiting, waiting, and waiting for that opportunity. :gun: Her father didn’t teach her any survival skills when it came to trying to kill someone and thinking they won’t attempt to get you whenever the opportunity present’s itself. I don’t think she has a redemption with my MC, period.

This describes the cutthroat (heh) logical side of my MC. She doesn’t care much about winning since as nihilistic and fatalistic as it sounds, she’s fated to die the next year anyway. However, she’s part of the tournament already anyway so she might as well try to win it. Sage only complicates things; doesn’t even seem the type to listen to reason since her grief and rage already clouded everything. While still guilty, my MC hates that and wants to deal with that ASAP.

Out of curiosity, why? I mean, why can’t your MC care? Is he a “survival of the fittest” type of character?

My English comprehension skills could just be failing me now but I don’t quite get what you mean  What do you mean that we don’t have a good excuse? Our MC was about to killed. Also our BFF/BF/GF was also killed by his kind. There’s good reason to believe that their “aunt” was taken/killed by the same people too. Those could be good enough reason/s for some MCs.

Not a reason for me. Especially since he wasn’t the same person. [quote=“Zoilus, post:9841, topic:15482”]
and to send a message: hunt me at your own peril. If you don’t stop, neither will I.

Sounds like a reason to send more people. You know en mass

Saxon was a stranger, so he doesn’t care. [quote=“zenbu, post:9843, topic:15482”]

I’m just going by law. If we kill him we do it when he’s defenseless, on a fight we started. The only good points I see for us are the fact that he pulled out a weapon, though given our super strength that may have been reasonable, and idea that we attacked him because of his association with the group who killed a friend.

Morally on the other hand: Refer to above.

Is the mc mother a god as well or no I hope she a villain or something ahah

Well, you know, teenager.

The MC’s mom was a prophet, not a god. Having two gods as parents wouldn’t quite make the MC a demigod  I think the MC’s mom was neutral if anything. She also seems to really hate the gods.
