Nightgazer has a point. Maybe therapy too or deal with it in a healthier way? Idk man, attempting to murder someone doesn’t seem all that helpful to me
[as complex as the situation is like: the person you assume was your bro’s murderer is in your campus and a few of the Olympus higher ups want to protect them because of reasons, I’d be pissed off for sure but going to straight up kill someone in the cafeteria doesn’t seem that wise]
Though if were on that, if she’s so hellbent on killing the MC can it at least not be in school? The Hero Trials seem more appropriate.
Haha! If all she did was screech like a hyena at me I wouldn’t care. Thing is, she put her musty hands on me so I’m done with her.
She could take her aggression out by play fighting with the other demigods. Don’t accuse someone of something you don’t know and then get handsy. Real life she would’ve got hurt.
Or she should could’ve just continued to try to get within the top two and help us so we have to battle her to the death. Her brain cells are all dried up, so I’m not surprised she couldn’t think properly.
My MC will want to keep her alive (she’s a team player/true hero leaning) so here’s hoping I can convert her to being a friend some time during the game.
And I’d laugh though if because of some strange twist of the prophecy, it’s Aeson the gods should’ve feared (not the MC) and the Hero Trials go sideways because of that reveal :))
^ this is just me shooting from the hip in terms of ideas, so feel free to ignore
@squarelyblue I actually have the same idea regarding Sage.
By the way I had a question that the in game lore says when bestower gives the MC their half of essence then the MC would have the power to destroy the universe but how would that fare against the current gods?
For my MC it’s the fact that she actually did kill Saxon and the last thing she needs is Sage screaming about it when she’s trying to keep the part of her that’s a killer hush hush. She’s trying to come across as the charming hero type and Sage jeopardizes that.
Just finished the demo and love everything about it. I just have one question, and maybe it’s already been asked, but what about Dionysus the god of drinking, party’s, and saytrs? Like he’s a major god and no one has mentioned him at all. I did enjoy the story but couldn’t help but wonder what that drunk guy was up too.
I’m guessing the gods would be severely disadvantaged considering the MC is pretty much manipulating a lot of stuff on a molecular level and could possibly rewrite everything and everything like the ultimate omnipotent being sorta vibe.
[so I imagine the MC could feasibly strip the gods of well, their godhood, if they literally have that PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWAAAA]
I could be wrong though.
I just really want my MC’s to find love (all kinds of it – romantic, platonic, familial, etc) and be happy :(( they’ve been through a lot and need the hugs + blankets
@Teh_chiCoG, I’m guessing he’s on an island somewhere trying to cure his hangover maybe he’ll show up in a later part but somehow I doubt it – like can’t imagine what kind of situation would merit Dionysus to show up (like especially if it’s a Bacchanalia sort of party, unless the gang is trying to escape from one but I feel that’s out of the range of the current plot)
If the MC was to have that kind of power then I would definitely be up for a reform.
But don’t you think having abilities like that will make the battles too easy, almost as if you were playing in a god mode.*pun intended.
Well to be fair, you don’t have access to all of your power (much more wield all of it without your body imploding from it) – or at least this is how I understood how it works in game
All this talk of prophecy and essence reminds of Star Wars to be honest and I feel like I am in Anakin Skywalker’s shoes.Whether or not I will bring balance to the force, oops essence is yet to be seen.
We don’t know yet how MC’s demigod status will influence this though… and that MC is aware of their potential powers from the beginning in contrast to all their other incarnations.
I am beyond excited for the upcoming update! This is my favorite WIP on here by far. The character development, storyline, and choices are so well written. It’s so impressive. The way you describe the characters’ facial expressions and responses to various situations makes them seem real enough for readers to form a connection to, which is very hard to do, but you pulled it off without any characters seeming too cliché . All the characters are multidimensional, which I adore. I first discovered this WIP during the summer, and no matter how many times I play through it, something always pulls me back.
That being said : there are a few grammatical errors that I noticed - how do you want us to go about helping you correct them? Just in the chat? I noticed some people posting corrections here and there but it all kind of gets lost in this big wave of awe that you created with this WIP.
My MC, Nyx, is very pragmatic and clever. She hates being told what to do, and she finds it difficult to trust anyone. She loves Hades (despite him obviously loving Aeson more than her even though there’s that one relationship stat that says “You have always been his Hero”), who is her father (I am aware that the glitch makes it so that Poseidon is your father - when I first started playing through this demo Hades was my father every time so it’s difficult to think of him as anything but my MC’s father). And she loves Athena, but doesn’t trust her at all because she knows that Athena is not an emotional goddess so there is more to her “kidnapping” than just love - she has some ulterior motive. Not to mention the dream that the MC witnesses, which makes it absolutely clear that Athena isn’t in the MC’s life for their own well-being. All the kids at the school are cool, but my MC isn’t really interested in all of that. It seems insignificant compared to everything else going on. When Sage attacked her, my MC was nonchalant and teased her. Any interactions with Calypso, Saint, or Adonis are all tinged with her bitterness. Because they don’t understand how difficult it was for her growing up, and she feels that they don’t understand what it means to suffer. She feels that Aeson and everyone else have had everything handed to them on a silver platter, whereas she has had to fight and persuade and hide in order to survive. So there’s a sense of disdain whenever she interacts with her peers. She likes Santiago because he’s not as stupid as everyone else and he seems as guarded as she is, which she appreciates. He isn’t asking her to prove herself to him as a worthy Bearer, because he doesn’t care. Which she loves, even though she knows he will only act in his own self interest. Which she is okay with, because at least he is honest about how he actually feels whereas everyone else pretends to care about her when she knows they don’t. I hope that he is an RO because I can really picture him and Nyx together - regardless of what side she chooses in the end.
It would be nice to have Dionysus somewhere in the story as comic relief because all the other gods are serious (except for Hermes and Apollo), and I can picture him stopping by the dorm one day with a bunch of bottles of liquor and being genuinely sympathetic to my MC while somehow managing to be nonchalant about it. Which might be me projecting the character of Dionysus from the Percy Jackson series into this WIP, but honestly it fits so well.
Okay actual LEGIT question time. Is there anyway to get sage to like you yet?
My MC couldn’t care less. She knows emotions make people weak, and she sees Sage as weak. She’s not worth the effort. At the end of the day, she’s just another demigod, and if she gets in my MC’s way, there will be consequences.
I would be more impressed if she wasn’t also quick to give up Saint who, as far as we know anyway, is a pretty boring “standard” demigod.
I feel like Saint has a secret side that we have not seen yet, and that he is capable of really messing my MC up (before the essence is bestowed, of course) if she gets in his way. He seems kind of shady to my MC, and the whole “I know everything about you” thing doesn’t help.
They are FORCED to raise you because you are a damn weapon. It is like say the slaver is a great person because gives food to their slaves to keep force them to work.
ZEUS FORCED ATHENA TO RAISE US IT WAS NOT HER DECISION . Then she think otherwise and stolen us
Exactly. Not to mention the fact that Athena told us she didn’t want us alive in the first place.
In most of the mythology I read for research prior to writing the game, it seemed that Hestia and Dionysius were interchangeable. Sometimes Hestia was a part of the pantheon, other time it was Dionysius. I decided early on that they’d both make an appearance, but Dionysius would still be under Zeus’s punishment, and Hestia had since then taken his place.
He’ll make an appearance, but not until after the first trial. He’s one of my favorite gods and I love my interpretation of him. There was a lot of freedom in constructing his personality because he’s not only the youngest god, but the most “rebellious”.
Returns Kai’s embrace …and then lean close to Kai’s ear
Damon: But if this hug goes on too long,I can’t grantee where my hands will go.
I used to be that way too. But after a while, I learned that if I want to make well-rounded characters and a strong story, I had to learn to create characters with personalities/views that contrasted my own to varying degrees and put myself in their shoes to make their actions/motives feel grounded, believable, and consistent.
Though I do have my limits; I certainly wouldn’t be able to create a character like @poison_mara’s Emo Mara as a character to play and do a route with them.
Damon would definitely vocalize his appreciation and love for Athena; he’d even tell Aeson outright if he brings up the idea of deepening a bond with Persephone that he isn’t interested in a familial relationship with her as he already has a mother figure in his life and that’s Athena. But he would never really call Athena ‘mother’; he’d just refer to her as his ‘mother figure’. The title ‘mother’ is reserved for the woman who had given birth to him; a woman he wanted to truly know ever since he was younger (and still does).
I meant Sage. They’re sort of stuck together in the First Trial for the moment.
Attacking the Bearer on sight, calling them a thing as though they are less than human, and choking them out regardless if they told the truth of not, certainly isn’t something that endears anyone to most people, regardless if they are in pain. Holding a machete to our throats probably didn’t make some people’s impressions of her any better either.
As for how Evander and Damon see her (since they’re the two I’ve been going into the most detail of these days):
Evander: He doesn’t know what to think about her; he sees that she is out to get him for a crime he didn’t commit and a isn’t willing to listen to reason in any way. But that’s it; Evander can’t claim that he knows her since he’s only met her grief and rage. He certainly doesn’t see her as a friend (he was not keen about how she tried to attack him), but he views her as a honest individual, who is one of the few that are willing to be upfront with him on their views toward him. If she tries to attack him again or endanger the rest of the team due to that reckless hate of him though, Evander will not hesitate to retaliate physically or verbally. If he could, Evander would ask Sage 'What will you do once you’ve gotten your revenge on me" to get her to realize that her hatred toward him and desire for revenge will not bring her any true closure with her brother’s death (only emptiness).
Damon: He see her as childish and reckless. It baffles him how impulsive she is in her choices so far, and how she doesn’t even attempt to be cunning (something that surprises him even more when he sees that she is Hermes’ kid). But something about the rawness in which she displays her emotions also gives him the impression of innocence. He knows what he did, but he also knows that there is more going on than he can really explain right now, and that none of it will give Sage the closure she needs. So whether she wants him to or not, he will do what he can to protect her from experiencing the same fate as her brother and search for an answer to the Seekers’ fate for both their sakes.
Oh, well I understand that I had characters for this game fanatic pro gods and fate. Like Teofila (a real name that means friend of god) A charismatic warrior with zero intelligence. But it requires at first certain boredom. But once I pass that barrier I could have fun in a way with goodies. Tjere is only a Mara same there is only an Evander. That’s what make Cog awesome
I haven’t finished reading yet, but I’m curious to know this before I proceed any further… Will Poseidon always be your parent if you don’t kill Saxon? I prefer Hades as my MC’s parent, but would that still possible if MC does not to kill Saxon and has Wit as highest stat?
For all we know that could have been changed in the rewrite. It could be that killing Saxon/not killing him results in something different besides that.
