Okay then.

Okay then.
However I do assume that he was chosen to be the MC’s father. By that I mean voted by the other gods. So kinda forced.
Just like Athena to nurse the MC.
I’m unsure if it’s been talked about or even answered yet, but is there a reason why Priscilla Angelis was chosen to be the MC’s mother? Or was it totally just random selection in the Gods making her our MC’s mother?
(feel free to not answer if you feel like it will be too spoilery)
But it’s not like Hades slept with Priscilla because he was attracted to her/he meant to cheat on Persephone, right? How culpable is he if it was a part of “the divine plan”? It seems morally gray to me…
They voted the father, for both the Bearer and the Bestower. And it was Athena’s idea.
“As I said,” Athena finally says, “We will take a vote.”
How was the relationship between Athena and Persephone again?
He purposefully and willfully chose her, courted her, and seduced her (Priscilla that is). If it’s infidelity, then wouldn’t that mean that Hades kept it secret from Persephone/she didn’t consent to his involvement in it?
Just because it’s part of some “divine plan” doesn’t mean that ya gotta be happy about it.
No matter what tho, the MC is going to have someone pissed at them. Hera, Persephone (Ovid aside, she was still an ancient goddess of death before being incorporated into the Greek pantheon and is universally agreed by a lot of scholars of being the power behind Hades’ throne), or Nerites.
They love each other. So maybe there is room for forgiveness. Since it’s not like Hades and Persephone could have said no.
Though I am curious how they chose our mother. Any ideas?
Cause if we are related in any way to Saint it’s through our mother.
It was prophesied. Probably…Maybe that’s why she is famous. Not just since MC’s birth but already before their conception.
They never interacted in myths. Because of how convoluted myth timelines are, it’s hard to say if they would have known each other growing up or not (depends on which myths you personally adhere to).
Persephone can reasonably be considered older than Athena though. Myths and hymns dedicated to her exist that are older than some of Athena’s, and her activity as a patron of the Eleusinian Mysteries probably puts her ‘above’ Athena in status (especially as Queen of the Dead)
Fun fact: Persephone actually had more confirmed worshipers and followers than Ares did.
Oh? I missed the part about courting… I guess he’s not as innocent as I wanted him to be.
Lol, MC be like
Famous for what… If Saint is our Brother not for her virtue…
I don’t know why but I have the nudging feelin that I will have a hard time liking her…
I think I have very grave abandonment issues…
I don’t think this is the kind of story where the gods go and force themselves on an innocent woman just to fulfill some prophecy. That’s why I assumed it was consensual on Priscilla’s part.
Having a child and then it not working out is nothing reprehensible, and after all Saint could be a mortal. We don’t know if he has a godly parent.
But if Priscilla was prophesied to give birth to the Bearer, yes, I think that could be reason enough to make someone famous on Olympus.
Man, Please tell me Persephone consented to this
I grew up in a family full of infidelity and god I dont want my poor mc to reflect all the yelling, screaming and hate… if he honestly did court her PLEASE let it have been with both womens consent
I know you are citing things as written in our real life here as we now know it but with discoveries and changing knowledge bases, who knows what we will find was said 10 years from now… and there is so much local variance that @Rohie would be justified taking liberties in writing a new cannon that is exclusive to her storyverse.
Yet the myths you cite so authoritatively say this was done all throughout history. So we don’t know yet, until confirmed or shot-down.
Edit: My point is that only @Rohie knows for sure what will and what won’t be taken as cannon.
Is the ‘her’ in question Priscilla or Persephone?
Because, yes, Persephone did consent to her marriage to Hades and had a happy marriage (I won’t go to details, but if you want them I can PM you evidence to support this)
Well, I doubt persephone would stoop to yelling. Gods are ageless beings. She’d probably just take it out on Hades somehow.
I’m more interested in the option to flip the f*** out if Priscilla actually TRIES to be a mother.
I know!
I believe that we were either taken away from her forcefully, or that she hates us and had us only to fulfill her duty. Because of drama. And because we know Athena kinda of kidnapped us.
MC’s family story is anyway fucked up…Alone for that I want a emotional breakdown option.[quote=“Nyxerie, post:2254, topic:15482”]
Because of drama

and partly plot, but mostly drama.
I don’t understand why the MC would flip out, didn’t Athena abduct the child? I could only assume that Priscilla, as a mother when finding out her child had been taken, flipped the hell out and probably wanted to claw Athena’s eyes out.
I can’t blame her for wanting to try and be the mother our MC grew up without.
