Children of the Gods (Important poll #12306)

I grew up with Greek myths as well, and my favorite has always been the stories about Hades, but I really don’t like the story about The Rape of Proserpina, I prefer to think that they just fell in love somehow and Hades was finally able to find that special someone that was created just for him. :innocent:

I have literally written essays about this and I can assure you that, yes, they did have a loving relationship and it was far more proper than it’s been popularly portrayed.

((I’m also trying to keep myself from rewriting an entire essay -plus sources- rn this is such a huge hot button topic for me I’m so sorry ))

I know… I am working on it.

I am only talking about @Rohie interpretation of Hades. I mean his life was not nearly as documented as Zeus’s was. Which leaves room for interpretation!

oooooooooooooooooh things are about to get reaaaaaaaaal

(also, I’m really bad at censoring myself. I am a very foul-mouthed human)

Chlorox. Tries to kill you by making you drink bleach.

That’s a messed up Cheshire Cat!

That’s just how the Cheshire Cat looks like when he is in a good mood!

I very much so understand, and it’s a sore spot for me also.
I’m sure no one would mind ready your essay! I know for a fact I would love to.

Anything having to do with Hades and Persephone is A-OK with me.
(I hope we get to meet her soon in the story, and that she turns out to be a motherly, loving figure that will accept the MC if s/he turns out to be her step-child)

You need to pass at least three skill checks to get Clorox’s enemies to help you in the final battle: Maytag’s impervious armor, Downy’s soft shroud of shadows, and the duo Johnson & son (you need to seduce one or both of them) to take them down.

lol, and I’d be happy to praise and chat about it! But it’s only marginally connected to the topic, and it almost feels insulting to Rohie, y’know?
This is her story not an academic debate/fighting forum and I don’t wanna derail away from talking about the game or her characters.
I think I remember her saying that Persephone would be making an appearance, so that’s something to look forward to at least!

How crazy would it be if you find out your dad was Hades, and when you meet your mom you find her and Persephone chatting about the latest gossip.

MC: WHAT! THEY’RE FRIENDS!

Not JUST friends, but the type of friends that share coupons and take turns carpooling the demigod children to school. :'D

I’d love that so much. It’d be like having two Moms! And one of them’s a goddess!

Mmmmhhh… no.

If Hades is the MC’s father, that won’t happen. Because he would have had to sleep with your mom, and thus cheat on Persephone.
And if she is anything like demeter, then your mother is not her friend.

I’m still waiting for the bomb that one of your frequent vendors/buddies/confidantes/fellow-runners-away from your homeless days is a minor god/goddess.

Awkward?:cold_sweat:

Ah, yes, this is very understandable and I agree, it is Rohie’s story and we shouldn’t derail it. I wouldn’t want to be someone that instigated a forum fight with it not being my intentions.
I love the way she has written her characters, especially Hades as you all know. :kissing_closed_eyes:

Also can’t wait to meet Persephone!~

Unless the MC’s birth had just been"Business". As in, Hades was chosen to be the dad, and he went with it. But neither of the parents harbored romantic feelings towards each other.

And considering she doesn’t always agree with her dear old mum, I doubt she’s exactly like her.

Even if it was business, I am not sure I would be chill about it.
And considering what she did to Minthe, neither would she.

But I do think she would learn to love the MC. Because she is kind enough to forgive a child.
