I’m working on one now, posted it the WIP section. Calling it “To Rule”. I think it’ll be a good read, and some fun.
So my first effort at a ChoiceScript game is called Little Divil. - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/53138514/little%20divil/web/mygame/index.html
It follows the story of a devil hatchling who hatches early and fumbles out of Hell onto the streets of New York. Without a moral compass and wielding phenomenal cosmic powers Divil journeys on any number of different pathways that ultimately lead to hell on Earth or a utopia… or he/she might also just end up selling slightly out of date hot dogs on a street corner…
I’m working on a ChoiceScript game called “The Burden” based on a “nude protagonist” writing prompt challenge from a friend of mine. It’s been interesting to write, to say the least! The short story is done and I’m working to convert it to ChoiceScript. It’s growing exponentially but I expected a good deal of expansion from offering choices. So far I have the introduction drafted out and playable (I intend to work on it a bit more) but I’m excited to get into the action of it!
Tonight I am starting my next game, Priest of the Claw. While it is not a direct sequel to The Path of Light, it will use the same setting and you will be able to play a priest who has been bitten by a werewolf. One of the challenges will be to retain humanity, or maybe not :).
The plot will revolve around q problem that we are currently facing - the man vs nature conflict. Who wants it to end and who longs for the suffering to continue? Should any of the sides actually win?
I want to participate in this year’s Windhammer Prize contest, but it will be difficult as no entry can have more than 100 sections (labels). And, my overall goal is to write 120-150 k words.
Ah, I understand that all who may be reading this are likely overwhelmed by the number of posts here, but here’s another to add to that conundrum.
I’ve begun working on my game four days ago. It’s title, although certainly subject to change is ‘Three Nations’, It’s my new hobby, but I’m unsure when it’ll be finished. I’ve got the set-up for the avatar written and the overarching plot composed. Just twenty-four hours ago I began coding with the intent of finishing the first chapter- but I’m 3000 lines in and only a third into the chapter. Hm. And I’m planning on three first chapters depending on the initial choices. …Yeah.
So what sets mine apart from others? Perhaps nothing. But I like to think that the game will be more ‘realistic’ in a fantasy environment. You can die if you make bad choices in the early game, some decisions are plain bad, and an inopportune timing combined with an inadvisable action will result in death. Characters won’t be carbon copy of archetypes like the Byronic hero. But at the same time, given the your stats back it up, there will be almost no bad decisions- I really do despise the concept of the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ dichotomy.
For each choice, I think to myself what a person may say and adjust the code accordingly (which may explain the 3000 lines for the first chapter which isn’t even that long in play-through terms) and how a character would react should a specific event occur.
But there are obstacles that keep the final date murky- the story will be fairly long (I’m a sucker for those), I’m new to Choicescript (although my background alleviates most issues I encounter) and most of all, I’m a university student. I imagine that it’d take at least two months.
Cheers!
UPDATE: For crying out loud, I’m still not finished half… of the third… of the first chapter. And I’ve written 40000 words so far.
Hello. My name is Shawn Reed. I’m new to coding, but finding it fun so far. I’ve recently begun work on a modern psychological horror game called ‘Monsters’. Because the story is heavily branching and reflective of player choices, I truly have no knowledge of how long the story will end up nor how long it will take. At least I know my stats screen is nice and pretty.
I expect that I will be working on this for a long time, being not only my first time working on an interactive story, but my first time coding as well. So far I’ve been able to correct my own errors thanks to the wonderful tutorials on choicescript coding and these forums. Thank you very much, those of you with experience.
Oh, I guess I should post here, too!
Working on a fairy tale adventure (slash shameless dating sim) currently entitled the oh-so-clever-but-not-really “Of Beauty and the Beastly,” which is as you might suppose based on the story of Beauty & the Beast. I am somewhere between a third and halfway done with the initial portion of the story. It is fantasy, and it can be dark, but it can also be somewhat playful depending on the type of MC you want to be. Mostly, it’s a game about relationships, and the choices people make in difficult situations. And loneliness. And how love is a lot of things and not just a romantic thing.
I have no expectations on when this will be completed. Hopefully it will be a fun ride.
Hi I’m currently working on a choice story that I haven’t decided on a working title for yet. I’m about a quarter of the way in or so, it’s turning out to be a bit more detailed than I was originally planning. The short version is the story is set when your boat gets caught up in a storm with varying choices from there. Most choices lead to interactions with strange creatures, magic, hidden places and changes to your very being depending on which way you choose to proceed. Not all choices will have a happy ending but I hope that some of you get the chance to come along for the ride and let me know what you think of the adventure as it progresses. I know the site authors and moderators are probably a bit swamped but if you would like any of the draft or further info about the story, please let me know.
Edit: Working title is “Tales of the Deep”
Hi,
I’m currently working on my first ChoiceScript game, which is set in a fantasy setting. I’ve had some programming experience before discovering ChoiceScript, so learning how to write the actual game isn’t too difficult. I’m not a native English speaker so there will probably be some grammatical and spelling errors, but I hope the community will help me fix those when I have a playable version of the game to post to the forums.
Right now I only have some sort of character creation and the beginning of the MC childhood programmed. Programming is going to be slow since my exams are coming up real soon, so I have to focus on those, but when they are done I foresee things going much faster.
Hello, i am currently working in my first ChoiceScript, although all the progress so far is in paper and not in actual ChoiceScript .The story it’s set in medieval fantasy with a hint of steampunk. At the time time of this post i have completely finished creating the world and the races within it, the basic form of the story, the main cast of the story , the stats and the “blueprints” of first 2 chapters.
Drawbacks. Because there are always drawbacks. You see english is not my first language, which gonna make actually writing the things i want without the narrative suffering a real b!ch
So if someone is interested and confident in his writing abilities PM me i’d really appreciate the help
I finally am working on a game i can actually finish. Its about the war in the pacific during WWII and it follows the story of the MC and his journey through the battle of Peleli. The first in a series of books/games
I’m working on an erotic story set in a medieval fantasy world called “The Dragon and the Princess.”
I have just posted a work-in-progress here: https://forum.choiceofgames.com/t/wip-the-dragon-and-the-princess-adults-only-erotica/9619
Actual game: http://seductquest.com/choice/web/dragon
I’m currently 83,000 words in and perhaps half done.
I’m hoping to market this game commercially, so and advice along those lines would be appreciated. I sincerely hope this game isn’t too non-PC. My philosophy is that the differences between the masculine and feminine (note: I didn’t say “men and women.” There can be feminine men and masculine women.) are to be celebrated as long as it’s done with respect to the feelings and wishes of all involved. I believe my game does this and hope Choice of Games considers publishing it.
I welcome all constructive comments in the WiP thread linked to above. Thanks!
My game is tentatively titled Dashball: The Arena. It’s centered around a sport I created that consists of handball, rugby and hockey elements. Your character can play to continue a family legacy or redeem their past failures. You’ll also have options of being a manager, or a cheerleader aka “booster.” The story will explore the sport itself, family life, locker room drama, dealing with fame, and over ten romanceable options. Will you dominate the underground circuits, or take your game overseas? Will you resist the temptation to deflate the balls?
It’s in the early stages, but I aim to crank out a majority of it over the summer.
Currently working on a project called Purlieu. Originally it was a Storynexus project but after playing some Choice of Games (Specially the extensive Choice of Romance) I found out that my idea would work better on this platform.
The work is based a bit on my research on Folkloristics, I kinda wanted to make a fantasy focused on a wild and tribal scenario which didn’t follow a culture in specific but had many tales from all over the world.
Your character is one of the many kids of the village chiefs, the great problem is that the village in question stays really close to the frontier between the Human World and the Wilderness, an ever changing spiritual realm of primeval forests and god-like creatures. The endings are many, the routes goes from courting the gods of the hunt, to becoming a leader, to running away to the bigger towns far away from the wilderness or just ending up as some beast’s breakfast.
I do have most of the routes clearly defined, but it will take a while to convert it all into the game.
Hi, this is my first time here and I’m working on a piece that I believe I will turn into a trilogy. The first story is called ‘Hacker’s Quest’. It is about a young amateur hacker whom accidentally stumbles upon a sentient AI program while hacking a corporate mainframe whom is secretly raising a robot army. Under-skilled and hunted, the young hacker must raise his experience to combat the AI while dodging the AI’s sentries and minions, and then he must take the fight to the AI’s complex.
The story is highly interactive and intuitive, as the hacker will have to take clues from his surroundings to attempt to hack passwords, read manuals to learn the correct syntax to enter code, analyze data dumps, and discover tools that will help the hacker take the fight to the AI. The serious nature of the content will be underscored by a combination of the hacker’s sarcastic charm and the hilarity of AI’s incompetence as it learns how to physically manifest itself through various machines.
Hello as well. I’m working on my very first game, don’t know what it’ll be called yet as its quite a loose concept. You’re a dragon, who through unfortunate circumstances, ends up to be one of the very last of your kind. Your goal is survival and knowledge. Trying to survive in a world that has aged 30,000 years since you saw it last, and trying to figure out what happened to most of the rest of your species, and why. As “endgame” options, you can, as of what my plans are for right now, become a vampire, undead, ascendant (think deity without worshipers), God/Goddess, transcendent (become enlightened, basically), or shapeshifter.
For the most part, it’ll be serious and gritty, with horrors uncovered and uncensored (Your not going to see any rape or anything explicit like that, but the gore WILL BE descriptive, just as it would be if you looked upon it in real life. It’s supposed to make you cringe.)
It definitely won’t be romance heavy, though of course they’ll be some. I want it to be a huge game, with many many things to discover and achieve.
Ello folks, working on a game called The Royal Legacy. You the MC must rise to greatness in a war torn nation. Construct a powerful military to seize the throne of Imortallia by force, use your wits and charm to gather powerful allys and turn your enemies against one another and sit in the seat of the victor once the smoke clears, or whisper in the ears of the powerful and entice your way to the seat of power.
There are many ways to rule and many means to forge a legacy, will your legacy survive? Or will you be among those forgotten by history. The Royal Legacy awaits.

I am currently working on a post-apocalyptic steampunk(ish) game about zeppelin-like skyships flying between mountains sticking up above a sea of poisonous fog that now covers the earth. It will be called Once Upon a Time in Downbelowland. The game will follow the MC as they grow from a young helper on one of skyships, to settling down, or becoming a pirate, or an honest captain, or something else, depending on your choices.
The game will, hopefully, be quite long, with a decent amount of branching. It will feature romance, as well as adventure, action, and, once again hopefully, a lot of other stuff too.
I am done with the first chapter, but I would like to have a bit of the second chapter, and would like to proofread it more before I put it up for a demo. But the demo should be up on its own thread in about a week, maybe less if I’m lucky.
I’ve been working on a game for a little while now, or rather I started work on it a while back and got caught up in other things and am now coming back to it with the intent of finishing it. I don’t have a proper title for it, or rather I had one but after a Google search of my intended title I saw some things that shared the title that I’d rather not have it possibly be mistaken for. So the title is up in the air right now. That said it’s a medieval-fantasy oriented story, that will likely end up spread out over a number of games rather than just one. You play the role of a young man who ends up finding himself with a chance he never thought he would have, to learn magic.
Given where he came from he never dreamed it would be possible, but events play out in a way that lead him to become a student. The reader/player will have a chance to live out his life as a student and make a few crucial decisions about how his life as a student and in the town the tower resides will turn out.
Edit: Working Title for now will be “Elemental Discordance”.
Hello, I’m working on converting my own 250 page novel into a game I’m dubbing as: The Man Who Became Legion.
Set in the 21st Century Washington DC and the 14th Century Europe, you have 9 different choices of personas that affect the entirety of the game drastically and the world you exist in. Yes, it’s a time traveler story; one that I could make a Free Roaming experience if I can work the ChoiceScripting (which I need help with). The decisions you make DO matter throughout the entire game because of the repercussions affecting all characters, cities, nations, the future and your status as a human.
Prepares sales pitch by clearing voice:
Born into a hostile war torn nation turned into a nuclear wasteland with enemies closing in on them, you are the test subject to the US’s last ditched effort to turn the tides on history as an experimental program pits 12 subjects against each other in order to take a valuable briefcase of some importance to a destination. The prize of escaping the shackles of your timed bomb collar and returning to the future await you but the journey and your actions along the way will determine what future awaits for you.
Play as:
- A Survivalist, a doomsday fanatic who lived through the United States civil war and.
- A Terrorist skilled in guerilla warfare and fugitive enslaved by True Patriot to do their bidding.
- A Battle-Hardened Psychopath with two split personas and a raging obsession for war
And MORE!
Traverse the 14th Century Europe and as you navigate and fight your way through countless enemies, sex-up partners in ways you never thought before, destroy EVERYTHING that stands between you and the goals you set. Learn about what it takes to escape your shackles of servitude and become a King of your own Nation and a God! Set the world ablaze in your never ending quest of world domination, finish what you set out to do and return home, or Advance the pinnacle of human evolution 1000 years into the future with your knowledge of the future and the past!
Coughs from deep epicness
It is a novel I wrote myself with a lot of research into history and science fiction that took me half a year to make writing it. I could use a lot of help with it in terms of script editing. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m having trouble getting stats plugged in scenes and adding extra .txt files and scenes that won’t show up at all.
