I think I’m more interested in the male RO’s than the female ones. I was wary about trying this game since it’s gender locked but the detail in RO’s is making me want to try it! Hope to see more soon

One thing I have been unsure about was sexual content… I was wondering if there were any opinions, as there are 5 options as I see it.
- Game contains compulsory sexual scenes for romance routes (not going to happen)
- Game contains compulsory sex scenes with fade to black option - effectively skip it
- Game contains choice at beginning to play with explicit scenes or without
- Game contains no sexual content
- Two separate apps for game, one with content and one without
Any opinion would be appreciated! - at the moment no such scenes exist… but again I will add if there is demand…
NOTE: any scenes would not be crude and use four letter words no matter what…

I think I’m mature enough for such scenes… Either way it really doesn’t matter much to me, I’m not overly crazy about romance like some people, it’s really people who are who you should ask

Scenes probably won’t progress beyond kissing unless there is a lot of demand though… it might put people off to have an 18 rated version…

If you’re having problems with the female version, you could include a possibility for broadsides-style total genderswap? You might even make it an unofficial spinoff of Choice of Broadsides as both are set in the same period
@Wulfyk Thank you for the compliment, and no there will be no supernatural gothic stuff - though one of the romance options is obsessed with it
As for the named options, you can try to do them, but you should really focus on one method of obtaining money… otherwise you will not be particularly successful at anyone thing - play to your strengths - so gambling, investing, estate management or elopement are the main options for that.
And it couldn’t be a sequel to broadsides as it is a hosted game… unfortunately

Because you have to have prior experience to write a choice of game…
there is a money issue- hosted games have the same royalties to CoG but in most cases they cost an extra up front payment of $500 before and $2000 after a game is finished
Obviously they don’t want to pay people who might not deliver - which is sensible
Personally I think there should be an option for completed games to become official but if they are finished its cheaper for CoG to make them Hosted Games - again good business sense
I second option 3 - I generally prefer to have a character who can be either chaste or otherwise. I also tend to like a sort of TV-7 rating (mind you, though, I’m willing to read stuff like NOLA, I just don’t prefer it)… so my ideal would be 3, but if I chose the option for explicit scenes, also have a ‘fade to black’ so my character can do whatever but I’m not obliged to watch. Does that make sense?
EDIT: I also think the definition of ‘explicit’ can sort of vary by region. I’m often surprised if I read or watch something, and guess at the rating - I almost always guess a rather higher rating than the media was actually accorded.
I preder option 3, a chaste or unlucky MC who never gets laid should be possible.
I think the sex senes should have the same level of explicity as in Choice of Vampires. This would be most appropriate.
Sorry, there has been a misunderstanding… your character will always be able to be chaste, just if they were in a relationship, then and only then would such scenes become available - if I even write them in.
