A Mortal Hero: Patron of the Gods (Demo updated 10/10)

So like can we romance the Gods themselves? Or is it like a big No no?

This seems pretty interesting
Could you romance Hemera? She seems really lonely and it would be nice to romance her and show her some love. Also will you meet the other gods or just the one from your necklace

I think author said we can romance our patron soo, if you chose her as your patron then yes…

Oh I just saw the post, it could be nice to romance her. It’s kinda sad not many people knew about her, though to be honest I never heard of her before either (never heard of Guanyin too)
Is Desmond connected to the Mayan gods by the way?
Also I think the gods might be dying cause nobody really believe in the mythology gods now anymore so they lost the power from their followers maybe? But then Rapahel is a biblical angel so I don’t know

I wanna romance her too. She needs more love

I loved the demo. It hits a little too close to home because I’ve had to deal with my parents’ divorce at a young age. Looking forward to more updates

You don’t have to be a villain, to be a trickster. :smirk:

I was just playing through and I really like the concept so far. And I usually fear that a sibling will end up like all those dreaded escort missions games like to dish out. But so far it feels different and I like that. I also found this part felt like something was maybe missing from how the dialog flows?

Edit: Submitting half finished comments ftw.
The reaction of “shut it dork” when all he did was smile and appeared to be moving on to other things feels weird. But maybe that’s just me.

Yeah cause we all know how heroic tricksters are right

cough Loki cough

Heroic tricksters are usually called rogues.
But, ahahaha… yeah:sweat_smile:

Well, Desmond seems to like the PC being kind and protective, so that’s kinda… affable. At least…?

And I am a fan of including non-heroic RO’s, so I guess I’m happy either way?

Hey ho~
I really enjoyed the demo and it is very interesting! ^.^

There’s one little thingy tho… I chose pink hair for my MC because I thought it meant that we dyed them but apparently it’s our natural color since our brother has the same hair color? That’s weird to me O.o

I’m so addicted already, this is so good. I love it and cannot wait for more. Sorry I don’t have anything more concrete or meaningful to say. Just thought you should know you’re doing an amazing job.

I’m going to try to answer some questions before I start working on fixing a few things up in the demo! Thank you all so much for all the kind words!

Hemera is definitely in need of some love! She’s also one of the most protective of the possible patrons even though she’s considered the weakest by the Divine Council standards! You will meet the other Gods and possible patrons but you won’t have much of a relationship with them, if that makes sense?

Desmond, in a very roundabout sort of way, is connected to the Mayan Gods. Though I can’t say anymore than this!

I’ll try to make it more clear in the next update why that was said! But basically it boiled down to Caleb giving the MC a hard time about the necklace but the MC having a delayed reaction.

I’m really glad people seem so interested in Desmond! The conversation you’re having is essentially the same one the Divine Councils have been having regarding him for quite a while actually

Thank you for reminding me about that! I kept meaning to add a few lines about that during my last few editing sessions but it kept slipping my mind, consider it added for the next update!

The necklace doesn’t exactly give you powers in the sense you’re thinking of. The stone, more or less, acts as a link between the Patron and the hero. What you feel when holding the stone isn’t power being given but the nature of the God or Goddess the stone is attuned to. However, this also means that your Patron can sense the nature of the hero as well.

The first meeting isn’t actually complete and is going to be heavily expanded on in the next update but when it’s finished if you still feel like it’s too casual please let me know!

Again, thank you all so much for the great feedback! Another update with more content should be out this weekend, but I might also have a very superficial update (just grammar fixes and a few lines to clarify some things) might be out later tonight.

Which Loki?..

Well in the Fire Emblem Universe, Blue is a natural hair color as seen with Chrom, Ike, Marth, and Lucina who is Chrom’s Daughter.

Oh ok that makes sense. That reaction is understandable now. Thank you for clarifying

Looking forward to seeing the answer to that question. I’m hoping that he’s a patron.

What I do know of about Loki in Norse mythology is that generally no gods really liked him because he was always making someone mad with his mischief but he did help out every once in a while. The gods also believed that Loki kick-started the Ragnarok by killing the beloved god, Baldur. Also was indirectly responsible for the death of Odin since Fenrir was his son. He would be eventually killed by Heimdall and was responsible for Heimdall’s death as well.

But in the Marvel movies, Loki is pretty tame compared to the mythology Loki.

I don’t think I’d want Loki to be my patron after all lol but regardless of that, this is a good story so far.

Sorry to say but he isn’t a patron as of now :disappointed:
