Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven -- set for release 10/28/16

I like the idea of bandits. It was VERY rarely aproached by video games to let us become what we fight and I would enjoy a bandit playtrough. I never saw anything about an apocalypse from the eyes of a raider and it would make it more unique! And imagine if you’re a celebrity and you end up with a scene like in the end of the world when they get muged by Emma Watson, that would be hilarious.

Oh woah. Being mugged by Emma Watson.

I have so many feelings about that. Thanks, mate.

I dont know what to think about that. And by the way, I dont know if it was mentioned before but did you ever think of weapon customisation? Like red dots and silencers. I doubt it would be hard to find considering the number of military grade weapons laying around the city streets. Of course it could be preferable to make different mods for different weapons because you cant just tape a pistol silencer on a shotgun and expect it to work either but whatever you would go with wouldnt really matter because rad dude, mods.

Ooh. Weapon mods do sound good!

Although, I’d be inclined to believe that finding them would be difficult because the surviving people (regardless of whether or not they’re bandits) would strongly prioritise scavenging these weapons.

Makeshift mods sound quite plausible, given decent crafting and dexterity stats.

Yes, people would focus on finding these weapons but I think that the militaries and police we’re mostly deployed in the city and cities are hella dangerous so not many peoples would get out of there alive. Easy to find but its only usefull if you survive the run.

I personally feel like things like a red dot sight, acog scope and so on, while extremely cool, would lack any superb purpose other than a bit of flair with the writing. In my opinion instead of saying “I aim down the red dot sight on my AR-15 and shoot the zombie” just saying “I aim down the sights of my AR-15 and shoot the zombie” is a bit more open for reader interpretation (I always imagined my guns with a holo sight in ZE 1, idk about everyone else) now silencers could be useful.

“Your contributions to the lab have been unquestionable, and your work alone on bloodborne transmission of modified influenza viruses gives you enough creditable to start your own lab, but you still have more to learn by working with Dr. Phillips.”

scientist route, bioengineering, guessing its supposed to be “Credibility”

It could give certain task boost. Like close or ranged combat. A bayonet could boost close combat.

Sorry for the delay, everyone. I am in the final day of draft 3 of A Wise Use of Time and have been focusing my energy there.

@Little_Mac thanks for pointing out those errors. They will be fixed in the next update.

For the “water in the tub” option, you need to find out from Jaime or have skill in survival.

@Shoelip the two strangers will be treated separately, although they certainly are tied together in motive. In ZE, I had Starr and River treated as a unit but eventually split them up due to Starr’s death. I really rather have Jillian and Lyle handled as unique “objects” than how Starr+River were handled. It does add a lot of complexity but I have become used to it.

@Jeremy_Alexander thanks, no one else pointed out that error so far.

@Patch101 thanks, those are more errors no one else caught.

@Bailz901 if your humanity drops, you can become a bandit and lead your group as bandits.

@cyanide yes, I have weapon and armor mods planned. If you combine crafting and ranged, for example, you can customize ranged weapons. Mods will add to stats, such as range, damage, etc.

I tried be nice for once and let them in i let her touch my face use my bathroom even eat my food and what crap I found … She was stealing me in my face!!! And even say where my things were placed!!! Of course I kicked them after stealing them. They are lucky there wasnt a poison their breakfast option. Great update Jim. I missed more colorful ways to insult the partner after all i have 70 charisma … Or convince the thief go away alone or make her cry because is an evil person.

I’m baaaaaaaacck! Hey guys! A lot has changed hasn’t it? Lots of new people… heck I wouldn’t be surprised if none of you remember me at all…

Anyway, Great game @JimD! A huge step up from Zombie Exodus! I really like the “handicaps” you’ve implemented like poor eyesight and house pet. They really make the player feel more connected to the story, as if it was actually them.

Thank you for providing great content! You brought me into this community two years ago, and it’s your game that’s bringing me back. I’ll be looking forward to your progress!

In the suburbs i think you can call Sean and tell him about Lyle and Jillian even if you haven’t met them, sorry if just misread or something.

@poison_mara when I write scenes, I think “What would Mara do?” I did add an option to con them out of their supplies.

#Con Jillian and Lyle out of their gear.

Someone else asked me to add an option to poison them, so I will add that. I also added a way to trick them, using persuasion and charisma (which leads to their death).

#Trick Lyle and Jillian to go into the basement with the zombie.

@ChrisD Welcome back! Good to see you among us again and thanks for the kind words.

@BlueWren thanks, I’ll fix that error.

Take your time @JimD I was here when you just started up this thread. Been a long wait but can’t wait until it’s finished!

Yeah, I saw the con art choice but I was trying to be nice for once  I was sincere in saying I was a con artist and really friendly. The con art job is certainly made for me and I am honored to be your model for evil charismatic options. Thinking about this carefully, what my girl could do. She wants to have some companions and this Lyle and Jill could do. But how now they could be trusted? Put some red paint and a rat trap inside the backpack left there if someone tries to open without knowing its there boom!!. Another variation could be used poison rat inside food in the backpack I call it Poison justice!! Of course you have to know some craft or survival skills to set traps.

I’m intrigued about this new ZE project because honestly, Zombie Exodus was my favourite! The action and thrill really took my interest and now that I learn that there is another one coming out, I can’t wait to play the actual version. I tried the Beta version and so far so good. My interest is still high up on this.

Also, the extra details about the character is actually pretty good. The feeling of me being in the story itself makes it much more realistic.

Just wanted to drop in to say, keep up the great work, @JimD! :sunglasses:

One of my absolute favourite WIP’s, this is.

@JimD I found a spelling error on the screen after you choose you setting. “Gear: You carry no gear.Cell Phone”.
Should be “Gear: You carry no gear. Cell Phone”.

Also I think that it would be a nice easter egg if you were to put in an option to give Jillian a sandwich if you name your character “Barry”.

Wouldn’t that be autocannibalism?
