Looks good, on paper so far. I will have to test it out in the actual game to provide more useful feedback. Maybe drop at least one more level from cooking (3to 2) and add those points to XP for homemaker background.
First a well thought system more or less balanced, y really think the soldier and the crafts based origins have certain advantage in this game.
But returning to my playlist of origins. I really think being a con art hasto be under powered in beginning. Why in hell have points in range and close weapons? I understand that is for balance but in origins to be realistic it needs to donât include any combat stuff . And make those points go one for athletic (a con has to be pretty and fit so running and that has sense. Also tennis clubs, gyms, are typical place to con rich people) and the other or for stealth or for electronics. A con fake many documents internet stuff is part of that. I like a con Have to depend from people even if i donât trust them that makes an interesting situation. Like parasites I would use and need a group host and when time is right, betrayal moment! !! Itâs so good being bad
@poison_mara Ha I sortâve am newish. Mostly stay on a few forums only. Tbh I rp as âThe Heroâ try to do everything so a bit of a completionist as well.
@JimD I approve! It seems pretty balanced to me on paper. All thatâs left is to see how it works out on the demo.
Some errors I found and suggestions I found in my Male college student, dependent child, visual impairment, Suburbs play through.

As her feet hit the ground floor, you swing and strike the crown of her head. The weapon crushes flesh and bone, and the woman cranes her mouth open as if to speak.
Iâm using a Katana, so wouldnât I slice the zombies head not crush it?
Though you killed the zombie, she used to a living woman and deserves the respect of any soul that recently.

I donât have a ranged weapon and there has been no indication of me gaining one after slashing the bandits back with my katana.
You walk to the gunner, and his arm waves in the air to grab you. Pulling the revolver from his shoulder holster, you raise the weapon to the side of his forehead.
Logic Issue for me. Why would my character take the pistol and shoot the bandit attracting Zombies nearby rather than use my Katana or hammer and kill him silently avoiding attracting Zombies and conserving another bullet for the pistol?

It wonât be easy, but if you take your time and eyes open, itâs possible.

Why are their classes with zero points in their secondary skill? Like the Combat Medics leadership.
Will Custom Classes be allowed to assign their own primary and secondary skills?
With your sheet it looks like some classes are actually loosing starting points in initial skills. I assume this is intentional.
I found a bug: When choosing classes, if you choose to view the military occupations, it increases your âpracticalâ stat even if you donât end up choosing that class.
Also, I really like the idea of been able to assign a "backgroundâ to a custom class.
As for the IAP for more starting skill points, it sounds like you have decided not to do it, but I would be all for it. It sounds like a lot of people would purchase it, giving you a nice little bonus.
No he gains the ranged weapon in the next paragraph. I started off with a Katana and hammer. Got an option to shoot in the air and than I chose to just kill him, and then the next paragraph happens and I take the bandits revolver from his shoulder holster.
Sorry, I should have clarified that more.
@JimD sounds good
Out of sheer curiosity, how exactly can money help in a zombie apocalypse? Because after I helped secure Seanâs home, he gave me some food, 2 beers and $200. How could that be useful?
Also, why is the amount of money not mentioned in the âInventoryâ section?
And lastly, can the MC please please please loot corpses? They might have useful stuff on them.
its possible there using money as a trade value currency representing favor value or something like that
or erhaps there still holding onto old ways
Itâs a single day after the apocalypse, I donât think otherwise well-adjusted people would think of looting corpses just yet.
I believe @JimD is changing the timeline a bit since a single day seems a bit much for the entire military and police force to collapse.
@NJG thanks for reviewing it.
I havenât had a chance to redesign chapters 1 and 2, but I will make money useful for a short time.
@idonotlikeusernames I definitely want help balancing the classes and moving points around. Any thoughts are appreciated.
@poison_mara cool, I will consider all you said.
@EmperorHeartless thanks for finding those typos. I changed some weapon variables, so some of those fight scenes need to be altered.
@WolfieGrey I fixed Combat Medic, Secondary Skill of Leadership was a mistake.
As for custom classes, I need to figure out their skill perks but yes, letting them choose sounds right.
Some professions are losing points due to balance.
Iâm still on the fence.
hey btw about preferrered skills, secondary skill etcâŚhow do you find out/see what each classâs are? Iâve never noticed them only heard about them. Obvs seen some classes have high skills already but read a ffew posts and yeah secondary skills and main skills are different to just having having high skill points right? thanks in advance.
@JimD Thereâs a typo when Jillian and Lyle stay with you. When the dependable mentions theyâre moving furniture around you say:
"Just ignore anything you here from their room. I'll ask them to keep quiet."
Here should be hear.
A few things: In the beginning of the game, if I choose to dispose of the squirrel it says I use my laptop. Then if I check online later it says I use my PC. Then in the next chapter, I can hack into some satellite with my laptop to watch Lyle and Jill. Peeking around it seems that you need 55+ to get the laptop in chapter one, but only 45+ to hack the satellite. And in the prologue there is just no check at all.
While more skill points would always be a nice bonus, Iâm actually more interested in getting (buying) more attribute points when the custom attributes are added back in.
@JimD If someone has a high athletics skill, can they start with a duffel bag (known as a âgym bagâ where Iâm from), or some kind of supplements? Almost every other skill gets a check for something.
With the above said, I like the choice to choose a style with the MMA fighter. Could something similar be done with someone who has a high hand-to-hand skill? Maybe when gathering supplies you come across your blackbelt in something.
For the Teenager background is it possible to add options to that as well? For example: Athlete, nerd, etc? It just seems weird that the standard teenager class is able to hack into government databases. Adding those extra things in also wouldnât change anything except starting skills.
I think this might have been asked before but when choosing our camping gear, can we get a description and then a âI have a fishing poleâ or âgo backâ choice?
With the water purifying tablets, if we choose the canteen it says we get a whole pack, but then only one is added to our inventory.
Choosing shampoo when scavenging doesnât actually have it show up anywhere.
I wonder what folks on the ISS are thinking about this apocalypse.
@Shoelip Probably something like âShit, weâre going to starve.â
They can always leave.
