How do you increase moral? Everytime the moral is like bellow 40. But I always talk to the gang to increase moral, yet everytime there’s like the whole assign tasks thing it goes from like 70 to 30
I’m an idiot. I work on two different copies of files, one for testing and one for production. I overwrote the wrong files, because I’m trying to work too fast. So I will have the portraits fixed soon.
Thank you for finding and reporting these errors!
I turned it in yesterday so I’m hoping tomorrow or Thursday.
@fairlyfairfighter Thank you again!
It may be written slightly wrong because in some cases it’s 3-4 weeks and in some it’s 5-6. It could be your baby or could be Lyle’s.
Voting usually has to do with your relationship scores with everyone and whether you can convince them to vote for you, if you choose to influence the vote.
I will check into this.
I was wondering where to find a machine gun for the junkyard watchtowers. I know you can get one from the bandit jeep at Chipper Ridge High (though admittedly I have never managed to repair the damn thing to drive it to the junkyard, nor found any more ammo for it) but where else can you find another? Lancelot?
I would imagine a plethora of factors. Individual relationships within the group, what improvements you’ve made to make their lives more comfortable (rec room, memorial, hygiene etc.) as well as creature comforts pre-apocalypse like shampoo, toothpaste, soap and what not.
They all have an effect, and there’s an (admittedly simple) breakdown of morale gain/loss at the end of Rachel’s reports which give a rough idea as to why people have got the grumps. That and there are specific events within the story which will tank morale every time, understandably. It’s just something you need to keep an eye on.
Having something like the a Repeater Crossbow would be nice for Hunter/Huntress types MCs who prefer to stick with Bow type ranged weapons but wants something faster for mobs. I’m a little surprised that it’s not in the game already. I feel like they’re definitely smart enough to craft one, especially with smart characters like Rachel, Madison, Int MCs, etc.

Just as a general suggestion, when I am thinking about Part5/Part6, what i am excited for:
- Zombie Exodus itself. I am more interested in defending against or diverting the horde, but even fleeing could be a fun one.
- Silverthornes. Mostly interested in fighting them, but would also replay to ally with them if it is different enough.
- More actions and talking with existing factions and people. Perhaps if we want to fight the Forest Rats, for example, we can go on a joint raid with an allied faction.
- Zombie cure. When I am not thinking of a New Army / Vanguard plane strafing a huge mass of zombies, I imagine them deploying our (patented) Zom-be-gone formula
I am happy for checks against defenses to ramp up and become for frequent, both from zombies and survivors/raiders. I am happy for it to become more brutal/dangerous, with failed group checks resulting in more injuries, death, or morale loss. I am also happy for, if we choose to defend against the horde, certain characters choosing to leave if allegiance or morale is low. Making those stats all matter more, basically!
Especially if we stick with the Junkyard and try to endure the horde, before the junkyard improvements itself which I enjoy, I look forward to a “rally (or intimidate) the different groups to work with you against the horde” event and perhaps simple, streamlined defenses and missions that are specific to the horde.
An example could be a mission with Gina or Woody or Kevin, if any or all are alive, to set up traps, barrier, or otherwise in a location on the way from horde to our base. Need good allegiance and/or character relationship for them to volunteer to go out of base as horde approaches, we will need to defend them as they build/do whatever they are doing, if successful just a simple reduction to horde size.
I am happy for existing individual characters within different factions to be explored more, maybe if there is the ability to go to their base and talk to them, but wouldn’t bother much with the complexity of tracking flags/variables on a per group member basis, just on the overall faction level.
Other thing I can think of is that, if we are intending to flee the horde with allies, given we operate a Junkyard with mechanics it would be cool if, for example, Thelma’s gang ask us to repair their vehicles (perhaps mechanically this would result in some of our best mechanics being “busy”, reduce parts, etc), but in exchange they boost or base defence/offence. Just a hypothetical of another group coming to us for help.
Lastly, whilst I have little interest in all the content for relationship drama (I dislike relationship cheating drama and if I wanted to be with another character I’d just pick them!), I do like the characters/romance itself.
None of the above is necessary, just the sort of thing I am excited for!
Apologies for double post. You can craft the machine gun with high crafting, or ask Fred / Woody / Gina to craft it for you
Machine Gun is in ranged weapons, as is the Flamethrower.
Ranged weapon accessories allows you to craft the Lower Receiver, in turn crafted from Forged Metal Parts, which itself is from simple Metal Parts.
Surprised there’s no option to take off the machine gun from the Bandit/Millitary jeep, ngl
Or even vehicles modification in general. You can briefly upgrade 1 car at the start of part 3, then nothing else
Ah, thank you for the info, I’ve not delved too much into the crafting aspect in my playthroughs since most things could be easily scavenged and there were more pressing matters to attend to.
Do those weapons require specific ammunition or is that just made along with the weapons themselves? I assume the latter since there’s no option to craft .50 cal rounds or flamethrower fuel ![]()
I was puzzled by this as well, and had just assumed those would be available to transfer to the watchtowers. The vehicle modding I can understand being light, since there aren’t all that many situations that their stats matter too much.
I think i encountered a bug. The day after the election in part 4, we get the chance to talk to a few of the survivors and build relationship. Talking to Billie can lead toa trip to the Clinic with Reiley. During the trip you encounter two survivors. I choose to save them from the Zombies chose to give them a ride to a New Army base in Kremmling. But after using up their dialogues, I’m left with parting with the survivors to contiinue to the Clinic or Robbing them even though I picked giving them a ride to the base.
Damn. I must be a pretty good leader to get re-elected again and winning by a landslide lol. And I didn’t even vote for myself. I voted for Rachel and didn’t influence the votes in any way.
I’m all for more romance and drama with characters, but not the “cheating” kind. Cheating is something I always dislike in any sort of media. But drama similar to the one with Jaime/Sean? Or Madison/Reilly? The more the better.
Realistically, it’s impossible for everyone to just get along all the time, especially during zombie apocalypse where people are on edge constantly. Plus, everyone liking each other it’s just a bit… boring and not very interesting.
Also, I’m not a fan of plot armors either, for any characters, even my favorites. Obviously certain characters are more important than others and that’s okay. But I’d like a chance to get rid of some people. (Yes, my mind goes to Kevin yet again).

Well this makes no sense. And before this, I used a Pistol that had a suppressor on it and it still said it was loud in the confined space. And a Crossbow shouldn’t even be loud in this instance too.
This is in the scene when you go with Kelly and Parker and explore the Visitor Center to scavenge and decide to deal with the zombie there.
Keith for me. In one of my playthrough he got:
- His entire squad killed on the battle of the hill
- Poisoned with cyanide
- Get bombed and fell off a watchtower
- Then finally shot in the neck (The highest caliber gun at the time was 30-06)
Pretty sure the narrative implied he’s still alive after all of that. He got strong AF plot armor
Hi
Does anyone know the people we can recruit in the group. I’m planning to start a new walkthrough and killing multiple characters see if we can recruit other people like the Harriet and other people. Thanks for the response.
At least Keith is set up as potential antagonist and we can attack him. With Kevin we can’t even say a bad word to him.
Yes - Jaime / Sean and Madison / Reilly are quite good. Reading through the code I seek a good chunk of thorough content and time (the game tracks who you date, who is a secondary RO, who you like, who are your exes…) dedicated to relationship drama of the cheating kind
I would suspect the idea of having such a confrontation is 100% natural, but my main point is that going forward I’d like this to be far less of a focus. I would, again wholly personally, be 100% fine with the scenes being (for part 5/6)
${RO_1}: “You are cheating on me with RO 2? It’s over”
And add a bit of fluff, dialogue, but dont have big variants for old and new character. If there are, say, 10 characters to romance, many people will do 2 or 3, some 4. This is all good
But if we look at combinations, dating 1 and 2 it less likely. For example, how many people date Jillian and Bailey, both, and then take both on a mission to Hawkins, to see the scene where they fight.
In the general sense, comparing a scene addressing Jude/Rosie being a bit off, arguing perhaps with a less considerate team member (“normal” vs other rift) Reily pushing someone around or slacking on chores (maybe wider rift betwen shooters & scavengers vs builders), or a rift between old and new joiners if the new joiners mess up (that said, Anders, Monica, and Alison are useful!) against a scene where RO1 and RO2 argue, especially given the complexity of breadth of options needed for different combinations, the first wins
But content like the dinner date we have with Alison but for all characters. Jillian making friends - maybe we just see it at another celebration/similar event them making friends with X. Or, if morale, supplies or jillian_empathy are low, they are still isolated.
Likewise, Madison and Brody arguing, Kelly having opportunity to not suck, Sean doing… anything good and selfless for the group, Gina (actual) romance, Jude / Lopez might have strong thoughts on our decisions regarding the military causing potential tension or him leaving, Bailey drugs, Billie idealistic (especially if we’re fighting Silverthornes) etc. Already a big cast to work with, with their own stuff going on.
(This isn’t that any of the cheating drama content is bad - I think it quite well written to be honest, just less so my thing, and also the peoppe who do see this content won’t see 80% of anything that varies with different characters as RO1 and RO2)
Nice to have the BFR finally in the ZE:SH series. Now all we need is the ability to add engravings to it with stuff like “For Honorable Service,” and “Against All Tyrants.”
Also probably form the New C̶a̶l̶i̶f̶o̶r̶n̶i̶a̶ Colorado Republic (NCR)
Well you sort of can if Madison is your RO, but that’s more protective/jealousy tension than actual personality clashes. Not to mention you can overpower him to get his gun or command him to do things in certain scenes, but as far as I’m aware there are no opportunities to kill or banish him…yet.
