Where’s the option to “restart from checkpoint”? It seems to be missing in part 4 or maybe I completely missed it, but I’m pretty sure I checked everything.
There’s also definitely a bug in chapter 14 with Jillian:
She approached my MC who’s a woman and kept talking about being pregnant and raising a child together. My MC and Jillian aren’t together and never even flirted or anything.
Yo, where do I go to for issues relating to my saves? I bought part 4, but no matter what option I pick for whatever chapter. It just won’t load any of my previous save files. It keeps saying it synchronized my game files, but there’s no option to click any of the saves I have.
Found an issue with Chapter 3 after installing Part 4: While attempting to assign survivors to first build the watch towers, assigning people does not not seem to register in the task list right and the towers never get built. Please see screenshot below for example. In any event, I am greatly enjoying the game in other save files, just wanted to bring this bug to attention.

I think I’ve finished most of it, still got some stuff left (I hope) and there’s one inconsistency that happened in my game.
Rachel said that Jaime invited Monica and Anders, but in my game, he was actually against allowing them to join. My MC is the one that invited them.
And some small feedback:
I decided to take Rosie with me to meet with River Dogs, mostly because I thought she’d fancy Athena, but there was absolutely nothing about it, nada. If we don’t romance Rosie, please give her some nice lady (Not Jillian, she’s straight as an arrow and can’t believe she’s even coded as bi/playersexual). Like I stated once, lesbian representation doesn’t really exist here and it would be a nice step for making it better. (I still would like to see some ladies from the group hook up with each other too, like men do with each other.)
Regarding Kevin:
Please. Can we PLEASE get an option to either get rid of him or kill him? I absolutely can’t stand this shitling and I bet he’ll be even worse once I start my teenager playthrough. He’s not only annoying, but also exhausting. Even Jillian is better and that speaks volumes. The only interesting part about him is that his father was (maybe) a serial killer.
You can actually look into the Leather Jack stuff, it isnt possible for it to have been Eli. He wouldnt have been old enough, at the time. You DO however learn who it could have been.
Fair enough, I don’t remember exactly how much time passed since the serial killer vanished. I’ll be playing as a teenager next, so I’ll refresh my memory , but thanks for the tip. I’ll try to find more info about this plot on my next game.
I have the same problem. After the update I can’t build any watchtowers either. The workshop, even though already built, is shown as an available work task in each chapter.
Also Gina is suddenly gone from my group. She didn’t die. I can no longer assign tasks to her or speak to her. Morale drops by 10-20 points after each chapter for no reason. And that’s with a recreation room and greenhouse built, plus high supplies. Allegiance has now started dropping too, even though there have been no incidents to cause this. Some items can’t be scavenged and simply disappear from inventory. All the new bugs make part three quite frustrating.
I regret deleting my older saves because I will now finish part three with the worst stats I’ve ever had.
I didnt notice items disappearing…ooof. But, I also never really checked.
The watchtower thing is being a pain, since if you dont complete them before 4, some annoying things can happen in 4. Funnily enough, the watchtowers CAN be built in 4, and the bug just vanishes.
And I have the workshop one too, where despite being built it’ll show up as still being available as being built. If you look at the list under the stat page in “junkyard reference”, after building additions and stuff a bunch of them will say “under construction” while also being “completed”.
I LOVE Zesh, but i remember seeing some of these bugs ages ago in the demo.
Had a RO bug where Madison was fighting Jillian. My only RO is Madison, and I never did anything but dance with Jillian. Then despite me choosing Madison, she breaks up with MC, even though my relationship was at 95. I’m going to replay part 3 and not dance with Jillian. Hopefully that fixes the issue. If not, I can wait until it’s fixed. Or play one of my other MCs, where I’m not so attached to their RO. Even with the minor bugs, I have to say JimD, part 4 has raised the bar even further, the writing is even better than previous parts, the choices feel heavier, the characters feel more developed (even the new ones). I had deliberately stayed away from the beta for the last 100 days or so, and though it was painful, it was worth it. JimD, you should be so proud of your work. I’m grateful to be along for the ride. I gotta say - one thing I absolutely love in SH is that MC has feelings and fears. We’re not treated as some invincible hero. Lots of games, text based or normal, often forget that and ignore how our character might feel, especially if those feelings are negative.
Scared? Angry? Demoralized? Who cares - random AAA dev, probably.
I started a new game (decided to go with hacker instead of a teenager) and I think portraits are bugged. No portrait ever showed up in my game and character reference page is blank with just their names.
I’m playing on steam.
EDIT: The game also ends after part 1 and won’t let me continue to part 2.
forgive me if it’s been asked, i found one thread but it had no answers. i’m wondering how to save my cat during the battle of the hill in part 2. i tried to save him, and then it mentioned what happened to the cat… and i ragequit. it’s my fault for naming it my own IRL cats name, but i’m not playing it unless i can save it lol.
Has anyone else had Fred leave their group to find his family? He’s gone from my relationship tab yet at the end of the game it says alive in group? Im confused if I’ve lost him for good by A) Doing something wrong or B) Scripted to happen?
