True It would be, but I love a challenge, so long as its possible to beat one way or another
If we’re talking edgy, then Nyx cause shes the goddes of war, death, suffering, dreams, and other bad stuff, even Zeus fears hear cause shes stronger than him
Wasn’t Nyx the Goddess of night and darkness iirc?
Primordial goddess of Darkness and Chaos, Mother to sleep, Death and Darkness, Nyx is my favourite too…
Just imagine all the bad things you can think of and she’ll be goddess of that
Primordial goddess, the personification of night and chaos and mother of the personification gods like Hypnos personification of Sleep and Thanatos personification of Death, with Erebus personification of Darkness.
And Erebus is also a sibling
Mehrunes dagon
Ares and Athena : stay out of it
XD
It’s okay, In some versions she’s her children’s only parent so we can just ignore Erebus.
Very cool game so far - I’m curious where’ll the story go, honestly.
The stat system is a bit tedious to me, but it’s mostly because of my playstyle and preferences, nothing wrong with it per se. I prefer when only one stat increases with each choice, since sometimes the increases affect one stat in the way I want and see logical for my character, and the other no. And well, considering the amount of flavor text depending on the stats, it’s important to me to keep consistency. At least since the game is not stat focused, it isn’t too bad either.
But as I said, it’s just because of my playstyle that I have this issue, so nothing to worry about!
So far, I think my favorite character is Mor, but I can’t say for sure if he’ll remain my favorite. No reasons for me to start liking him less, but it’s not impossible that my affinity for someone else will rise more than what I feel for him. Eh, we’ll see.
Cyrus is sweet, but not really the kind of character I like as a love interest in games - I really prefer the relationship to remain a best friends one. Though I admire the variables to the relationship you offer the players, since the MC can adore him or not be able to stand him.
Also very curious about that thing the MC can pick up early in the story and that they forget about because of other stuff.
I have seen certain amount of mistakes with “me” being used instead of “you” - which makes me extra frustrated since I consider first person so much better - I really dislike second person in stories, but oh well, what can I do…
Instances I've noticed:
- “You know what it means to put my blood, sweat, and tears into your work, and the pride that comes with a successful outcome, like this one.” - when the MC goes to eat and reacts by being admirative of the decoration.
- “and before he can shut you down and tell me to go away” - when approaching Mor and admitting not having checked out the groups.
- “Whatever Mor expected me to say, you had obviously surprised him.” - same scene as above.
- “As you get as close as you can go without all of your clothes flying off, you see them watching me. Analysing me.” - during the party, if approaching Kai and Mor.
Another weird thing, in the woods with Cyrus:
There’s that option in a choice: “I cover my hands with my ears and wait out the noise.”
How do you cover your HANDS wity your EARS?
And it says the same on the follow up page, if you select said option.
That aside, would it be okay to ask for a rephrasing of one of the choices, or an additional choice to reflect diffferent MCs - both would work for me?
It’s when you select to which gender the MC is attracted. So, in my case, it’s men, and I’ve set all possible RO’s to be male, so I have the choice. Because of that, the choice where you select that talks about Mor, and it’s phrased like that: “I won’t deny thinking he’s attractive, since I’m into men.”
Sure, I’ll probably do his romance, but it makes me very uneasy for my MC to be forced to think he’s attractive. If for some reason I really disliked Mor and was set on a different romance, and considering I tend to play shy and totally not flirty MCs, I wouldn’t have liked to have my MC “forcibly” attracted to that specific RO. I don’t mind in this instance since he’s actually the character I’m interested in, but I think you get my point
Let’s call it a pet peeve of mine, I guess. Or call me cheesy for liking the idea of an MC who only ever liked one person.
It could be phrased like: “I can see how people would think he’s attractive, especially since I’m into men.” - it makes it coherent with the phrasing of the second option, and is a way more neutral statement.
But again, it would also be fine to leave both, so people can choose depending on their MC’s personality and/or if they’re actually attracted to Mor.
Also, two('ish) questions!
- I’ve checked out the ROs before starting, in the OP, and you said " …but only the “visible” ones. Yes, the format was stolen from Mind Blind"… What does that even mean? That there are secret ROs? If yes, how many? Is it possible to know who, under spoiler or heck, even private message? I’m asking because I often do a single romance in these games, so I have to think it through before I select, otherwise I find myself in a bind. Not knowing makes me exclude possible secret ROs from my list automatically, and then sometimes I regret
(yess I know that was more than one question in one bulletpoint)
- Can a RO try to initiate a relationship with the MC, even if the MC didn’t flirt with them? And I mean, at all, even in a meta way - by which I mean selecting a choice to say that the MC feels attracted to that person, even if they don’t say anything (since that would be a “flirt flag” for the game anyway). I truly mean taking the MC off-guard. Or not off-guard if they are perceptive of these things I guess, but well, unprompted.
Chapter Three Update Live
Includes:
- You get to explore the human realm for the first time. Wowza.
- Fight something or be a dick and fight someone.
- Romantic comedy moment with Kai (if you so desire). You can also punch them.
- (Potentially) conflicting feelings about A that you won’t get to act on because I moved the section to chapter four.
Overall Word Count: 90k without code, 105k with code, and about 25k per play-through.
Chapter Three Word Count: 25k without code, 28.5k with code
Some Notes: I’ve been cleaning up some of the coding and stuff, which is nice (finally figured out multi-replace!) Also, I’m planning on releasing the chapters I write later than after they’re finished from now on for a few reasons. Firstly, I’d like there to be new demo content coming out even past the time the demo officially “closes”. Secondly, I’m probably going to be moving things around so it might get confusing and require a lot of saves acting up if I don’t do it this way. Thirdly, it’s just easier.
@Phantomblade Split second, blink of an eye, et. cetera. I think I might include that somewhere, thanks!
@Konoi Stats are the bane of my existence, so thanks for the information! Yes, there are two additional ROs. Secondly, it would depend on the game. For right now only C is slated to do so if you pick a choice that suggests you have feelings for them that you don’t plan to act on. That choice has been introduced on one path, and will be introduced for other players in the beginning of chapter four. Thank you for the comment!
Okay, thanks for the info! I suspected as much about the already revealed “hidden RO”, but I’ll be waiting to see the next one too, then!
And thanks for the info about C - I was just curious - I like it when ROs act like that, but it’s not necessary either for my enjoyment of a game.
Ah also, you didn’t answer that part when I was wondering about what the heck was Mind Blind, but I found it, and wow, looks amazing… So I guess thank you for mentionning it in your OP since I wouldn’t have found this WIP otherwise
Anyone else having trouble getting past the part where Hermès gives the quest in chapter 1 cause it just gets stuck on the loading screen for me.
Ps I am on my phone
Well, the new update was… something. Curious about where this is going!
I stumbled upon two strange things:
- I don’t know if it’s intentional, but in that earlier part after the party and before the MC and Cyrus get sent to join the quest, there’s that breakfast scene that previously featured a choice about what’s the MC going to eat, in case of specific dietary habits, but now it’s gone and the MC goes for bacon by default. I don’t know if it’s intentionally removed with the update or not. I went for that when playing previously anyway, so it didn’t bother me, but I prefer to mention it just in case.
- Once the two teams regroup and are discussing what to do next, when you get to the part where you can ask questions (at the very end of the update), said questions don’t disappear once you ask them.
That’s all I’ve spotted!
Sorry if anyone has already mentioned this, but to me it’s a bit odd…well quite can’t put my finger on it, should I have to greet Mor to continue the conversation or quit it?
yeah, i believe so- Mor doesn’t seem to want to start a convo/ speak first(probs due to his “broody” attitude), so you have to speak first.
But I’ve already though, see that two grayed options here, it’s just felt odd have to ‘greet’ him again after I’ve already spoken to him. If sure it’s a coding error though, I’d hope I can still choose not to greet but speak to him directly.
