Would anyone like to create a world with me?

@WolfieGrey Exactly. :slight_smile:
@Galador You’re fine. It’s more of a reminder than anything else.

@hahaha

Do we choose where our people initially reside and then work outwards? Does where we start determine anything about our people or their traits?

Name my range Schwarzeberg Tal. I’m aiming for a culture like the Rhineland.

~Wedged between Leaky Plateau and the mountainous terrain (on the northwest of the continent) lies -Everlast- Which is basically a mixed wooded area. Starting out as more of a coniferous forest type, with more evergreen trees and a longer growing season. But then kind of fades into more a less dense deciduous layout when it reaches Leaky Plateau. So the forest kind of look like it has a gradient… if you get what I’m tryna get at…

Anyways

Everlast is full of life - Owls, Woodpeckers, Hawks, Cardinals, and more roam the skies. while Foxes, Deer, and Elk duck along the forest floor with the shrubs, moss, and fallen branches. The minor rivers and streams serves as fresh water and home to fish. The caves that dot the territory usually serves as home to bears, and occasionally wolves, that loved to feast on said fish. The greenery is a refreshing sight, the air is clean and crisp.
Due to the occasional flooding by Leaky P., it tends to be quieter and still in the surrounding areas, as well as be the coast, for all that’s there is a mighty drop onto the jagged edges that mingle with crashing waves.

How about adding an mysterious stone arch?

I hope it doesn’t count as an action but I would like to add caves to my mountain region

@WolfieGrey
When we get to part 2, I will ask everyone to state:

  1. What do your people call themselves?
  2. What do your people call this land? This world?
  3. Where would like for your people to start?
  4. Are your people nomadic or sedentary? (Sedentary people must found a settlement and also name it. I will also allow a larger starting territory for nomadic peoples.)
  5. A general description of your people’s physical features
  6. A peculiarity in the way your people clothe themselves (ie. do they go barefeet? does everyone wear a hat?)
  7. What is the prevalent world-view among your people?
  8. A short history of your people within their oral tradition (ie. how did they come about? Who united them? Any legendary figures?)

Note that at the beginning of part 2, all cultures will start with late stone-age technology (~5000BCE in our world, ie. no writing). Things will go by really fast in the beginning so tailor your decisions to be as general as possible to have the greatest effect. By about the 10th turn, we’ll slow things down and we’ll go from there.

Of course, this is not set in stone, at least not yet. Does anyone have any suggestions, comments?

@WolfieGrey
There are always caves in mountains! :smiley: Unless you’re talking about some kind of extensive cave system that’s of particular notice?

If it isn’t too late, I would like to add a lake. It is a massive affair located far northeast of the Valley of Themis, far east of the Leaky Plateau, and (not quite as far off, but still not close) southeast of Lastor’s Ring. It is called Farshine Lake because of the reflection of the sun off of its always perfectly flat surface. This is due to a bit of magic contained in the water that attempts to keep the lake still at all times. When something disturbs the surface, it goes back to its original state as quickly as possible, so quickly, in fact, that it just might house some sort of magic that makes the lake sentient. A small fissure in the very bottom of the lake opens up into an enormous underwater cavern large enough that an entire city could fit inside with enough room to spare for a large “underwater wilderness.” It is filled with giant spears of rock protruding from the ground and the roof of the cavern, some of them as large as castles. If there is any light, the columns are shown to glitter and shimmer from the minerals that comprise them. Strange unnatural creatures dwell here, but I will get into that when we are to introduce creatures. While the surface lake is called Farshine Lake, the much larger underground portion is called the Sunken Sea.

On your first draft, I am really loving it so far, very good. :smiley:

@haha

Nope just your regular old caves

Im thinking of caves too for in my canyon

If we’re adding things that we forgot/decided that we wanted to add, I kind of wanted to put a flowing river in Everlast. I mean there are rivers and crap there, I just wanted to add a slightly bigger named one… if that’s not too much to ask

But if this counts as a move, I will happily wait until a later day or whatevers

how about a large mountain in the middle of the continent with gold veins visible on it’s side ill call it the glittering mountain

Broken Forest Canyon.
Spend all day on it

If it isn’t too late, I was thinking maybe a sea in the middle of a large continent. I also had some other ideas, and I drew a quick sketch. Bad quality but I hope you can get the idea.

I have some ideas I can give. Get Ready!

The Land can be divided into Seven territories, each representing an attribute like Wisdom, Strength etc. The Physical Landscape is also different depending on the attribute, like Dark Seed could be between Snow and Nature. Each special land could be represented by a mythical animal like Centaur for Earth, Pegasus for Light etc. Even the people could be different in each land. Some lands could be at peace with others while some could be at war, like nature and water being alliances. Also, their could be special magic.

So that’s what I have got and I would like to join this little ‘‘organization’’.

The attributes and elemental representations are too restrictive. I’d much rather a people’s culture be developed by their history than by what their territory represents. Not to mention that it limits the number of territories and put in place a system for too complex for low fantasy.

@trollhunterthethird and @P0RT3R Great pictures!
@Aitoeto Sure but I don’t think I can fit a name on the map for both of them. I am keeping an archive of all the areas though so it could definitely be added. What do you want to call it?
@AltoaRev It’s a little bit too much for one turn. Remember, only one feature/action per turn. I can add the inland sea and tomorrow you can add the Midnight Forest.
@Smartkid737 I’m of similar thought as ADNox, especially since I don’t intend on limiting the number of factions/cultures to just 7. I may set a limit later on if it gets out of hand though.

Can I ask everyone to hold off on the ideas right now? I’m feeling the map is getting a little crowded. Let me draw it out tonight and post an updated map before we work on it a little more.

Could it be possible to kill everyone with nuclear wapons? lol
