Would anyone like to create a world with me?

No way am I gonna change my culture. I like it but just not missing a day part. In the far future though, when scientists doubt that out eating practices are not very optimal, my descendants would teach them an lesson. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I’ll lean more oriental when I reach steel metallurgy. I’m German-Japanese, so my fake people will reflect it.

Sweet, on that note I’ll have to check in when I get back tonight.

@Haha what do you mean by changing culture? We talking a Greek to Byzantine shift sort of thing?

I know that the Byzantines are successors to Rome in the East but culturally they’ve often been identified as Greek

He probably means social unrest… IE: civil war for slavery.

Hmmmm, I was thinking like let’s say the Desar conquer the whole continent, their leader dies and it splits into two, for his two sons. Player picks which side they control and whichever side has a stronger culture or whatever eventually gets control of the other half reborn. Civil Wars to gain control work too

Speaking of civil war, I wonder where my rebel survivors ran off to. I’d gladly reabsorb them now.

Maybe they died out? Or are amassing a new army…

No more than a few dozen could have survived and I imagine the wild killed yet more. Unless they’re suicidal, they wouldn’t return with hostile intent.

It has been a few hundred years. I think any survivors would have moved on and joined a new tribe away from the Drindites

@WolfieGrey
You need have no fear of the Lunari, we are a peaceful people, seeking trade and diplomacy. We seek to hopefully enlighten your people to the worship of Luna and bring them into the one true faith

@Happy

We have to team up! Though we have yet to meet.

Lunari, keep heading east. I want a force of silver-haired slave guards. Be sure to bypass the Oymaci; they’ll eat your hair.

Are there any spots open in this forum RP game ?

The Affaceres:

The Affacere continued to grow and their settlement of Primar became the first true city of the ancient world. As the Affacere professionals became more and more proficient in their craft, trade expanded even more, leading to an establishment of a currency of specially carved obsidian.

The Idorae was a sedentary farming community much like the Affacere. They believed that the stone monument was the pillar that held up the sky and had daily rituals around the monument praying for it to remain standing for another day. To the Affacere, they proved to be a great trading partner and many Affacere craftsmen moved to their lands due to a requirement for their skills.

Contact with the Idorae introduced corn to the Affacere, which proved to be a hardy crop very suitable for some of their northern farms.

The Attacoti:

Complete destruction of a people proved to be more difficult than the Attacoti had realized. Over time, the Cirren culture changed and adapted to a life constantly on the run. Though they had not the numbers or the equipment of the Attacoti hunters, they learned ways to evade them and strike at them when they are least prepared. This pursuit of the eradication of the Cirren gradually became a severe drain on Attacoti resources and manpower.

Maroi’s attempt at settling some of the Attacoti in the former Cirren lands brought both benefits and drawbacks. On the one hand, the Attacoti obtained a stable source of food and the obsidian trade returned, allowing the development of better methods of transportation. On the other hand, these permanent settlements proved to be a very attractive target for the Cirren guerillas. Even though these settlements became more and more fortified over time, the Cirren seem always able to find a way to get through its defences.

The Crudal:

The Crudal are the first people to connect the concepts of fishing and farming. Though the bounties of the sea are far from being depleted, there are occasions where fishing trips will return with lower than expected catch. This changed with the establishment of many fish farms along Ignis’ coast. However, the cost of maintaining these farms are often quite high and many Crudal still spent their lives fishing the old fashioned way.

The Crudal elder’s allowance of duels for the hands of maidens prompted a cultural change among the Crudals. It practise was eventually widely adopted among the Crudal males and it is not uncommon for many men to die in the struggle for a desirable woman. Eventually, martial expectation for men increased significantly, increasing a dicotomy of roles between men and women. Eventual and inevitable inclusion of the priesthood in this practise meant an emergence of a warrior culture among the Crudal.

The Desar:

The Desar were originally very wary of the Oymaci due to their extremely xenophobic culture. However, being new to these lands, the Desar needed any help they can get and reluctantly accepted the Oymaci language as the default language of communication between the two peoples. It turns out the Oymaci found Cikari pelts to be very valuable and it soon became the primary export of the Desar. In order to better cultivate this trade resource, the Desar attempted to bring the Cikari out of their desert homes, with limited success. Working alongside the Oymaci, they subdued and transported several Cikari from the desert to the plains. Though the Desar are still unable to control the beasts, the Cikari are no longer under the severe resource restrictions of the desert and began growing in numbers.

The Drindite:

The discovery of copper and the subsequent Drindite fascination with the material prompted a massive search for more of them in the mountains. It turns out that the mountains of Schwartzeburg Tal is very rich in copper, allowing Drindite metalsmiths plenty of material to work with to master their craft.

Copper weapons and tools proved inferior to quality obsidian counterparts and weapons of war remained obsidian. However, copper’s relative abundance in comparison to obsidian allowed for the replacement of much of the flint tools. These superior tools allowed a much greater output in not only farming but also in mining. Out of this situation emerged a class of rich landowners who are gradually seeking more and more privileges from the nobility. The Drindites are also the first peoples to fashion metal armours.

The search for a new crops to support the ever-growin population of Drindites returned less than optimally. While some new plants were discovered, attempts at bringing them back to the mountains for harvesting resulted in repeated failures. Instead, the Drindite simply opted to increase the size of their potato farms.

The Dwellers:

When an army of hundreds of tall, light-skinned warriors weilding obsidian battle-axes emerged from the forests, the Dwellers were actually much more prepared for the encounter than they would have been under the priesthood. Years of rivalry between rival mobster gangs made the club-weilding enforcers tough soldiers. However, they are still no match for the former Drindites and though they offered stiff resistance, the Dwellers eventually broke. Rape, murder, looting, and many other unspeakable acts took place in the caves of the Leaky Plateau during the event known to history as Twelve Day of Darkness. After it was done, the former Drindites left, going south to the Emerald Ocean.

Recovery from the attack was slow. Many Dwellers thought it was a punishment given to them by the Great Bat for their heresy and they became more religious than ever before. Great pains were taken to train and organize a proper militia for defending their people and the cave entrances were greatly fortified. If anything, this attack gave the Dwellers a renewed sense of unity and identity as a people. The final day on the Twelve Days of Darkness was celebrated each year among the Dwellers to remember this event and how their people endured.

The Feradians:

The establishment of Varone in the northern plains allowed the Feradians some breathing-room from the constant Garvoi threat. Farming was also a great boon to the Feradians as it took away their reliance on the bounties of the forests. This allowed the Feradians to quickly flourish in their northern town.

However, due to a lack of a natural predator, it wasn’t long until the Garvoi expanded its range and moved northward. Constant harrassment of Varone by the Garvoi eventually slowed the growth of the town to a crawl. The threat posed by the Garvoi will have to be dealt with eventually.

The Loux:

Though the original split between the Loux and their brethrens, the Valet, was a disagreement in lifestyle, the Loux quickly turned upon the Loux, forming a militia and enslaving any Valet they capture. Enslaving the Valet provided the labour needed for maximizing the output of their rice patties without sacrificing manpower from other areas, allowing a boom in the Loux population. In time the milita became very proficient at capturing Valet for enslavement and became a semi-professional force. The word “militia” became synonymous with “slave-catcher” in the Loux language.

As for the Valet, the initial betrayal by their former brethrens came as a shock to them. When they found out what happened to those who were captured, some did fight back against the Loux militia. However, since they barely had a concept as a distinct people (many still viewed themselves as Loux) and were never really united, concentrated efforts against the Loux militia were few and inbetween. Instead, many of the Valet simply chose to move further into the forest, continuing on despite constant predation by the Loux.

The Lunari:

The Lunari reliance on the sea allowed a quick development of navigation among the sailors. One of the most widespread methods was the use of a depth weight, in which a weight was dropped to estimate the depth of the sea and its sediments, giving experienced sailors a fairly accurate idead of where they are. Using their new tools, the Lunari eventually came to occupy all of the Lunar Islands as well as the North-Western Coast of the continent. In time, a detailed map of the areas the Lunari had explored and settled was also drawn.

The Macobi:

The demise of the Cult of Youth along with the Macobi’s vastly increased availability in natural resources allowed the Macobi to flourish. Some Macobi have noticed shiny golden material in the mountains around their new settlements. They have found that these material are very easily shaped but their rarity and extreme malleability prevented them from any practical use. Instead, many Macobihave decided to wear them as ornaments.

Though they had a permenant settlement in Spes Novae, many Macobi still preferred to hunting and gathering as a way of life. This suited the Macobi just fine for several hundred years due to their small numbers. However, the the Macobi’s population meant that they had to travel further and further from their home in search of food. Eventually, this came to strain their logistical capabilities to the point where many decided to establish smaller settlements farther away from Spes Novae, decreasing the Macobi chief’s influence over his people.

Establishment of these fringe settlements coincided with the birth of Rabba, the chief’s daughter. Many of the Macobi considered this an ill omen and unrest began to grow among them. When the chief died without any other children, many of the Macobi openly opposed Rabba’s ascension to the tribe’s leadership. Nareen, a cousin to the former chief, who has support of many in Spes Novae and a vast majority of those outside the city, took this opportunity for a bid at leadership.

Crisis! -Succession
Nareen has the support of about 3/4 of the Macobi population. However, hope is not lost for the young Rabba, for she does still have the loyalty of many of her father’s retainers. Whether or not she survives and retains leadership of the Macobi will depend on what she does next.

The Oneiros:

The Oneiros continued to spread throughout the continent, encountering several more nameless tribes and offering their services to whomever needed it in exchange for food and shelter. In time, there was an incidence where an Oneiros youth shared his recreational drugs with one of the locals and he in turn shared it with his friends. Soon, there came a huge demand for such drugs among the tribal populations around The Bloat and many Oneiros seized this opportunity to trade these drugs for various other goods. Though the drugs had an overall debilitating effect on these tribes, the Oneiros soon became very wealthy off of this trade.

The Oymaci:

Oymaci invention of the Uyum had little immediate effect on their society other than making their festivals a little more festive. The meeting of the Desar was a new experience to the Oymaci. Being two xenophobic societies, communication between them took a long time to establish. The Oymaci language was eventually chosen as the default language of communication between the two cultures due to its much larger population and the Desar need for Oymaci resources. Cikari pelt became an extremely valuable trade commodity and many of the richest and more influential Oymaci adopted Cikari wardrobes.

The Sentients:

As the Sentients mapped out more and more of the heavens, they gradually had more and more of a desire to see for themselves what they’ve mapped. This prompted a great interest in the development of such machines for just this purpose. As the machines became more and more sophisticated, the Sentients’ skill in mathematics and kinematics grew tremendously, leading to benefits in other parts of society as well. Although the development of such a machine was never realized, it became a hobby for the more affluent of the Sentient to hold annual contests for the best projectile machine.

The Sincerae:

Sincerae search for new material for tools turned out fruitless. This effort was not entirely wasted however, since a greater understanding of the layout of their island meant a greater access to the resources of their island. This allowed the Sincerae population to continue to flourish.

Drindite turn:

To prevent class war, the king grants noble title to landowners willing to take an oath to the king, and pay for the privilege, creating two groups of nobles, the high/old nobility and the new/low nobility (as with German Uradel/Briefadel).

Meanwhile, craftsmen are put to work creating flat-bed assemblies of wood reinforced by copper strips and mounted on wheels. Lacking horses, teams of wolves are used to pull the wagons.

The transportation devices are loaded with supplies and used to support a scouting expedition, several dozen strong, of men armored and armed, tasked with finding a route to the mountain base, to the southeast, to there establish a second city.

The Afacere settlements follow the lead of Primar, and begin to grow their own small settlements into towns.
Wagons are built, and pulled by horses bought from the Pirmasis. Some Afacere come up with the idea of safe routes between settlements, to protect travellers from dangerous animals and bandits. Others seek warriors, who can defend them.
The Pirmasis and Idorae are encouraged to join the Afacere. They would stay as their own independent nation, but be led by a council, made up of of the three civilisations.

Some Afacere seeking new opportunities, set out, in search for new lands and people. These journeys caused a few to realise that travels would be made easier, if they knew where they had been. They began to draw the land, and this was known as a map.

Attacoti:

The Attacoti were faced with two trials. 1: the Cirren guerrillas and 2: the people from across the ocean currently residing close to their hunting grounds.

Chief Miran deciding that the Cirren were the greatest threat, ordered a wooden palisade, reinforced with stone, to be built around the gardens to the south. He also put forth sentries to keep an eye on the ocean invaders as well as the wall in the south. Deciding that the wooden wall would not end the Cirren threat, he also set in place training for the hunters who weren’t on expedition. This training involved turning a group of hunting dogs to war dogs, and military training based on previous engagements with the Cirren Rebels.

It was during one particular engagement that an Attacoti huntsman, stripped of his spear, picked up the remains of a tree in order to defend himself from a Cirren. Surviving the battle, he told his fellow Attacoti what happend, and the construction of wooden circles over lapped with fur, attached to an arm, became common. These were known as shields.

I don’t want to change my action, but I would like to amend southeast to southwest.

Tullian turn:

The small towns around the Broken forest start getting bigger, and you can notice it at on town that slowely is becoming a city. Its the small city of Caerulum at the sea of tranquility. The Tullians are catching fish to transport it to Murus and for the other towns
