I have a controversial question so please don’t hate me but if we played an evil MC could we try to stop the abolition of slavery?
To be honest, this is more the prologue than the story, and few people know the context and history of Brazil, so even though I agree with you in most cases, I think it is necessary in the prologue. But I don’t believe that this type of writing needs to continue from chapter 1 where we will have more freedom and the real story diverges from what happens in the game.
Historically, Dom Pedro II had lovers, he was just more discreet than his father, so much so that there are people to this day who don’t know. I would find it interesting to have the option for the drama.
Could we start a absolute monarchy?
Also could we conquer the entire South American continent
I agree with some folks that prologue does feel like reading text wall after text wall. I think a good suggestion is maybe add more player interactivity during it this might remedy that feeling. But it would also increase the lenght of the prologue.
Also ye i do agree more with folks that i feel like just reading and next page. Its giving me Gray eyes of death feelings and let me say i have bit of PTSD from that demo.
This is an IF, it should be no different than any other gamebook with complex lore. You weave it into the story, not just info dump it.
If I was a proud citzien of the Brazilian Empire and my Magnanimous Emperor made a Pr*testant () his consort, I would immediately denounce my loyalties and start plotting against his Imperial administration. And I’m sure many others would as well!
“Heretics are in control!” “His Majesty failed his oaths to the Faith!”, the streets would yell to be sure. And can anyone say they would be werong?
No, I don’t think my Emperor will me marrying no Prussian harlot.
Could we turn Brazil into a colonial empire?
Do you turn Brazil back into a colony? Why? Are you Portuguese?
I think he meant as in Brazil making colonies in africa…
No I mean have Brazil make colonies, like take bits of Africa, Asia, the Pacific, hell maybe the Caribbean as well.
Also we’re in my comment of “Could we turn Brazil into an COLONIAL EMPIRE” does it say I wanted Brazil to be a colony again
I belive we can, as we can go to a conservative path instead of a liberal one.
that would be cool. But it would be very difficult because the writer would have to think about diplomacy with different countries, involving great powers. I would be happy enough if there is a way to expand the borders to the Paraguay river (taking southern Paraguay, part of Argentina and Uruguay).
I would add to the possible expansions zones to: the entirety of Bolivia, the entirety of Paraguay, parts of Argentina, and Uruguay for the south because its the only regions were in practice heavy infrastructure is easier to build. Now north… it gets complicated the guyanas can definetly be taken but i think buying then might be a more accurate statement.
The issue is well the amazon rain forest is literally a mountain range. Even what i describe of possible expansions if we take only geography into account of what might be possible for a extremely sucessfull Brazil in some more realistic geopolitical scenarios that are somewhat stretched. BUT… i also can be wrong the USA hit the rockies and just pushed beyond it to the ocean so i can’t precisely make a good prediction. I may be very well versed in latin american politics to know that a sucessfull Brazil effectively can pull the same power as the USA manifest destinying across what people forget is a country the continent size of Europe.
That would be entirely antithetical to the history of the monarchy in Brazil.
My bad but also chill, dude.
She only needs to convert to Catholicism, only she converted, it was quite common for this to happen, Sophia of Prussia, sister of Wilhelm II, converted to Orthodoxy after marrying King Constantine of Greece.
Is there going to be a third option when choosing the young emperor’s appearance? (Where the MC’s features are a mix of both their parents. E.g they have their mothers blue eyes and their father’s brown hair or vice versa.)
Are there going to be more chances to interact with the young emperor’s remaining family (E.g their sisters princesses Januária and Francisca) after their coronation?
Maybe during the young monarch’s first visit to Europe, the emperor could invite the dowager empress Amélie and their half-sister princess Maria Amélia to visit Brazil now that the regency has ended. (Doing so may prevent Maria Amélia’s death from scarlet fever.) Also is there a reason why the emperor doesn’t receive a letter telling them about their half-sister’s birth in the prologue?
If the young emperor chooses one of the Prussian or Bavarian princesses as their spouse, will their choice of bride effect how many children the imperial couple have?
I just did my first playthrough and I cant wait for more!!!
I knew what it was from the title alone
The game is great, I hope it continues
As someone who studies politics and loves history, I couldn’t help but imagine how great this game would be in the future
The conflict between liberal and conservative ideologies is very wonderful and apparent even in this small Prologue waiting to see the conflict in the future
Yes?
