Acompanha ai!
This was the prologue of the game, as it is historical I needed to show the MC’s entire childhood and the main events.
I wish there was more!
Você é uma lenda, irmão. Haha.
alright this one seems interesting and has the potential to become a great IF too, however , as i always ask the same question ill do that over here too, is there any possibility of a cheat mode with all maxed out stats so i can play without worrying about skill checks etc
I didn’t say I didn’t like it. It’s just not one I’ve ever been that interested in. Like I said in my comment, I’m happy to play anything political or historical though, since it’s a genre I much prefer over fantasy or sci fi WIPs, which seem to dominate.
I’m thinking about making a “Story Mode” where all stat checks will be ignored.
Let me start writing the first chapter, then I could implement it.
Hi, @HerbertCV. Quick advice, you can reply to multiple people in the same post.
Friend, I have to agree with @Omeg and disagree with you. There’s just too much info dump right up front. That’s a huge turn-off. Even as a Brazilian, I was bored after the fifth page and the Empire period is one I actually like.
Needed? No. You wanted to. Just start the story as soon as possible. You can include some (but not all!) of the backstory in-game as Pedro II interacts with his advisors and other NPCs. Weave it into the narrative instead of dumping it on the reader/player. Besides, don’t be too overly attached with being too historically accurate, after all, we’re playing a game taking over the reins of the Empire and changing history, not reading a History textbook.
My suggestion is to set the story leading up to or even after the coup of the republic (but make it a failed attempt) so it is pretty clear the player is creating a parallel version of history, not to mention it being a better period to play as the ruler instead of when Pedrinho is just a child. (Or maybe MC could be Princess Isabel? )
perfect im really looking forward to it. all the best.
About all the big texts in the prologue, after writing the first chapter I intend to give the player a choice to skip with a note telling how long it is, much of the history of the prologue will be in the main menu for the players to read whenever they want.
The Republican Period or the continuation of the Monarchy will be explored probably in the second part of the game based on the choices.
Pedro will be young in the first chapters because I want to explore somethings, like his marriage giving the player some alternatives Princesses, different from the one he actually married, I will give the option of opting for the historical princess by proxy or traveling to Europe and meeting a princess in person, I already searched and found some with age similar to Pedro, and depending on the Princess, the heir could born as male, and throughout the historical spouse, Isabel will be the heir.
So what historical figure could we possibly meet, also could we not die at the age of 66 like Pedro the II did, I like to see how far my character to go and to see if could a least interact with a early work war 1 Europe
Yes I would like a cheat mode as well
Points gained from me by saying that my man;
É o Brasil do Brasil! Já quero ler hehehe
This looks good so far, I do wonder if we’ll be capable of expanding our influence throughout the New World and how the US would respond to that, what with the Monroe Doctrine and all.
I could see them justifying a response by saying the Emperor is a European due to his mother or something along these lines.
Anyway, it’s pretty fun and I do like the options given to us thus far, can’t wait for more!
Thanks, and yeah. You’ll be able to expand the influence throught the Americas and rival the US economically and politically as the US is not that powerful by early and mid 19th century.
Most of the European leaders, US presidents and great persons of the 19th century, like Alexander Graham Bell that actually become friend of D. Pedro II in the reality.
So do you think you can give us any hints on what Princesses’s we could marry or is that either too spoilery or still in development?
For now, there will be 2 Prussian Princesses, 2 Bavarian Princesses, and ofc the one he actually married, who were from Two Sicilies.
Not gonna say their names yet, but i’ll proabably introduce them in the first chapter.
Will we have the chance to take a lover other than our wife?
