Yeah, sure.

Not stop, it’s impossible, but extend when it happens yes.

Yes, just follow the Conservative path.

Not at all, just some territories, but you’ll be able to turn the neighbors in some kind of puppets.
Making wars will have great consequences btw, I would prefer staying diplomatic and develop de nation, Brazil is already huge enough. =)

But there’s some territories geopolitically interesting to conquer (or re-conquer?), like Uruguay, because of the Río de la Plata basin, a huge river that could be used as waterways :money_bag::money_mouth_face:.

LMAO, marry the Prussians will have consequences, for sure. Just choose the Bavarian one, or not… An alliance with Prussia could be useful…

Hmm, yes why not? Let’s just free Angola from the Portuguese! They are geographically more closer to Brazil.

The entirety of Bolivia, idk. There’s too much rain forest and few infrastructure there to be considered, but the rest, yes.

Bro have a point.

Yeah, height, beard and outfit, I want to keep it simple cuz I will commission some arts for the game in the future.

Yes, I will add scenes of interation with them and their husbands.

Good idea, I’ll add a scene during the visit to Europe just like you said.

Yep, the gender as well.

Thank you all, keep watching. =)

Taking Portuguese African colonies on the terms of “freeing” them sounds fun, also if we do marry a Prussian princess, when the scramble for Africa comes around we could pull some familial strings with the Prussians to help us in our goal of taking Portugals colonies in Africa

Regarding all the info/history/background at first and the debate on if it’s needed or feels like info dumping

Would a good compromise be to have an option on the stats page that includes a section that has all the background info and other information?

I have read quite a a few IF’s who have a lot of info/lore etc included have all that as option on stats page.

This way those of us that are interested or may not have a lot of knowledge about Brazil could read that and it won’t feel like an info dump at the beginning of the story.

I myself do not know much about Brazilian history so I would definitely enjoy having that an option on the stats page

Isn’t it better to leave this to the imagination of the readers than to include an image of the MC? You can provide more options this way and I feel like it’s people’s preference to do it this way. Picture of the clothes would be good, as I doubt everyone would understand the description of clothes from the period.

It’s already my plan, to give the option to skip the prologue info and put these infos also in a stats page menu, but first I have to finish the first chapter or you’ll not have anything to read, right?

I’ll think about that, maybe a poll so you guys vote.

Could we fight in foreign wars? Like if we made allies with an European country and they go to war, could we join said war and support them?

I believe so, since we can make an alliance with Prussia. I would also be interested in acting as a mediator in diplomatic crises.

Excuse me, what? The monarchy in Brazil was never absolute. The Liberal path, I guess, would be in favour of the Republic, so why the “conservative” path an absolute monarchy instead of a parliamentary monarchy? Makes no sense.

In reality, when Pedro II became Emperor in fact, it was not a 100% parliamentary monarchy, he could choose the minister of state and the provinces were not yet autonomous, he could choose the province presidents as well.

This is a legacy from his father, only later during his government did the monarchy become truly parliamentary, with much of his power being ceded by him.

I’ll not make a linear story where there’ll be only the non-absolutist monarchy.

No monarchy was ever truly absolute - even Louis XIV, the figure head of absolutism, often had trouble getting local authorities to undertake certain actions that were percieved as being “outside royal prerogative”.

Whether the Constituition of 1824 granted the monarch absolute control over the State is not important. The real question of the matter is if it awarded the figure of the Emperor with power and leverage comparable to those european monarchs we today consider to be “absolutists” held at the time, and the answer to that is “yes” imo.

Could we get involved in the US civil war? Like we can support either side?

Also could we be like an warrior Emperor, like when we go to war we fight on the front lines with our troops, kinda like Charles XII

Will the Emperor get a chance to meet Otto von Bismarck during one of their visits to Europe? I think a meeting between the two would be fascinating to see, especially if Brazil is a rising great power by the time of their meeting.

(OTL Pedro II visited Europe on a tour in mid 1871, so maybe the MC can meet the Chancellor of the new German Empire during this visit?)

It would also be interesting if the Emperor visited the United States both before and after their civil war. As it would hammer home the fact to the young Monarch, that they will have to be very careful with how they deal with the issue of slavery in Brazil. That the emancipation of the empire’s slaves will have to be done slowly and carefully to avoid unrest and rebellion.

(Maybe the Emperor can lead the way and become an example for the empire’s elite to follow by emancipating any slaves that are owned or are working on the imperial estates/crown land.)

If Princess Maria Amélia lives in this universe/timeline, that means she will probably marry her fiancé Archduke Maximilian of Austria (The future Maximilian I of Mexico), which could lead to some interesting butterflies. Mexico was dealing with a lot of unrest and issues during this time period. OTL Maximilian’s reign was on shaky ground from the start and his lack of understanding of Mexico’s political situation didn’t help matters either. It wouldn’t surprise me, if the mexican monarchy fell just like in our timeline.

Even if Maximilian loses his throne, any possible children he has with Princess Maria Amélia may have interesting futures. Any surviving sons he has would most likely become Franz Joseph I of Austria’s heirs. (As any son’s of Maximilian would come before Archduke Franz Ferdinand in the line of succession for the throne of Austria-Hungary.)

Maybe Maria will contact the MC for support or the MC would see them as an good potential ally in North America and will contact Maximilian threw Maria

I don’t know, what support? Military?

Sure, but you could lower MC health, not only is it dangerous because it’s a war, but there are also diseases there.

If you follow the path of marrying a Prussian princess then you might not only meet him, but also…

Sure it will, but maybe the MC could abolish before the Americans by following a different path from reality.:eyes:

(A monarchy in Mexico is unlikely to last long, as it neighbors a republic called the United States of America.)

I was thinking of giving the MC the choice to offer Maximilian a neighbor country to rule as a King if Maria Amélia can be saved from the disease she contracted while in Europe and they both marry.:eyes:

He could later leave his “son” with Maria Amélia in there just like Dom Pedro I did and return to europe to succed the Austrian throne.
