Pele seems to be a city buster “I can make it hot enough that people wouldn’t want to be within a mile of me,” according to the Zeus route Zeus could summon enough lightning to obliterate a coastline off of the USA. Within Pele’s smaller sphere of influence, though, Pele seems to be able of causing even more destruction than Zeus.
In terms of physical stats, Pele has the advantage- Pele is basically a walking lava golem, with skin durable enough to ignore the Clouded Praetor’s spear (unlike Zeus) , and if damaged Pele can heal themselves instantly by assimilating mineral matter, so in Pele’s favored environment a strike would pretty much have to kill them instantly to be more than a swiftly rectified inconvenience.
I agree though that while Arthur would be able to fight Lucifer’s control it would clearly be a greater exertion on Arthur’s part to fight than on Lucifer’s part to control if we assume he has to keep a handle on his bloodlust at the same time.
The real question would be if berserk Arthur would be easier or harder for Lucifer to control (as in he gives in to the bloodlust) or if Lucifer could last long enough to control Arthur without dying.
Against Pele though, their nervous system is very different since they were literally born and formed from lava. It’s possible that the nervous system that Lucifer can affect would probably either only work on nervous system that they’re familiar with or “organic” being’s nervous system specifically. Pele might not classify as an “organic” being in the way we’re familiar with. The point is Lucifer’s powers might not work on Pele cause their body is too different.
Honestly kinda curious on how power affects strength and durability for example would 1 be like breaking through walls and throwing cars while ignoring small caliber bullets and 4 be like Omni man tv show level strength and durability or maybe man of steel movie superman levels would love to hear the author thoughts on that and examples on other stats I know the stats has some writing about it but would love to hear more detailed examples if not that’s fine love the story so far and looking forward to it growing in detail and scope.
Thats the thing he can give attributes to himself. He could turn into a man made material thats very heat resetant and use that small window of time to hit pele hard. Also we don’t know how strong his staff is so there is the possibility that he can literally snipe pele from orbit
Lucifer isn’t weak by any means, but outside of his powers he’s still not the strongest. His ability is effected by the target’s willpower, so while most of the MCs would still be effected they wouldn’t be as easily defeated as the people he’ll be fighting in chapter 2.
Author said Lucifer’s direct counter is Arthur because the sword is already using him as a “host”, so Lucifer would be fighting against 2 at once, neither of which are weak. So even if he succeeds partially at best he would just weaken Arthur enough it’s an almost even fight. Then there’s the issue that Arthur is the most skilled combatant of all the MCs, which Lucifer is isn’t close to being.
Or worst. An anger management-like class to deal with their bloodlust. They’ll probably sound like Therapist: "Why do you feel the need to kill? Are you subconsciously repressing something that triggers it, like some hidden abandonment issues perhaps? Excalibur: "I JUST WANT TO KILL!! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT “REPRESSING SOMETHING”!? SHOULD I SLICE AND DICE YOU AND SERVE YOU AS A SALAMI WITH A SIDE OF FINGERTIPS TO YOUR FAMILY!?
Unique biology hasn’t seemed to pose an issue before, as the power works on other enochians who were created from literal paintings. So there currently is no evidence to show that it wouldn’t affect Pele.
While they won’t be as easily defeated, willpower seems to only affect the time it takes to break into someone’s system, and once theyre in, theyve inly seemed to leave of their own volition. And everyone theyve encountered thus far has only taken mere moments to break into. That includes Haley. That included Jehovah. That includes enochians. And while Arthur is the most technically skilled, in terms of raw power they’re equal at best, and Lucifer is on top at worst. Not to mention the hypothetical 1v1 may not inherently be direct confrontation. As long as Lucifer is in range, their ability can operate passively. So again, even against their direct counter, it would still just be seeing who can hold out longer.
am late just to say that author on tumblr explained Pele can evaporate rain clouds but it would kill everyone and everything around which wouldnt be worth it.
Have you played the Pele route at all? Pele can just conjure a freakin wall or make a volcano blow up with them at the center. i dont think lucifer could see through that. same with light, Pele can just freakin glow like a mini sun and blind Luci. Like, i understand everyone wants to be overpowered but each character has their strengths and weaknesses and i tihnk itsd be extremely boring if they all were indestructible/literal planet level forces of nature. Pele cant do what Ishtar does or what Luci does, Pele has the lowest Technique, their only plus is their heat based powers/physical prowess. The others are also strong for f sake.

Lightening is conductive, theres also materials that can in fact survive a lightning strike. the physics of a lightining and the freakin heat of the sun are completely different tho, you cant compare oranges to apples. Nothing we have can survive direct/close contact to the sun.
edit2. looked it up and the surface of the sun is 5,600C and the closer you get to its center the hotter until reaching 15,000,000 Celsius
