Will there ever be a sequel?

I’d have actually had your parents weren’t framed. They were heroes at the top of their game but they’d become too proud, too confident in their own absolute right. They were making more and more decisions where they’d take the law into their own hands. Rather than sending villains to prison where the villain would eventually escape/be released on a technicality, your parents had taken to killing them, entrapping them, or planting evidence before they actually committed crimes. There was absolutely nothing that could be pinned on them though.

Ms Artillery shows up with proof of what they’re doing. Proof that they’re planning to do similar to her. She intends to expose it in front of a press-conference. And when she goes to pull out the supposed proof, they assume she’s going for a weapon and they both attack at once, accidentally killing her.

But that death is just the last on a long line. With Ms Artillery’s proof, and the resulting investigation, they come across a number of other cases where your parents made calls that go directly against the law. Now maybe the Judge could have been lenient on them, they are heroes after all, and this sort of thing goes on all the time, but Victon is out to make a name for himself. He has his own agenda and exposing your parents for what they did, making them a test case which will then cause all other superheroes to be more subject to the law, and less inclined to engage in vigilante justice, is what he wants to do. So he gives them the harshest punishment he can.

Anyway those are my thoughts.

@FairyGodfeather Those seem like interesting ideas, that would seem like an extremely juicy and great plot-twist. I wouldn’t mind having villian killing parents as the MC’s main worry of life.

Now those are damn good ideas! They make sense, they’re coherent and thoughtful, and leaves open numerous pathways to better explain the MC’s goal of either going vigilante or seeking to right the wrongs of their parents. But what “made it to print” as it were, while yeah–it’s easy to see why the MC could swing either the vigilante route or the do-gooder route, nevertheless what’s in the actual game is disjointed.

Hopefully the author will have a better sense of direction and what they want to accomplish within the sequel, so what’s in the first installment isn’t consistently coming off as being quite so frazzled.

@Apillis Aw shucks t’was nothing! I think Fairy’s idea seems great plot-wise, seems way more plot-twisted than mine and also doesn’t follow the guide-lines of the hero parents being wronged, it actually makes an interesting plot to do, Damn I wish these plots were real!

I only use mine to make sense of the existing story-line, it’s more of a filler than an actual ‘new’ plot but makes more sense than wacked out law systems and weak revenge plans.

I have a feeling that there WOULD be a sequel
Black Magic’s history is still in the dark and the ending left a lot of possibilities.
Anyways, when it does come, I am so gonna buy it. <3

The sequel is coming out soon… Check out the facebook page!

I wonder if the sequel will get the same reception as the first? What with the play store having a 4.7 out of 5 with 272 ratings, while obviously the dozen or so people here putting up the paragraphs upon paragraphs have a different stance. It’s just quite interesting to observe.

It’s quite simply–in the case of the first, those who can–or are willing to look passed or outright ignore the glaring flaws of the first will like it. Those of us who cannot or simply reached a point refusing to do so any further at some point within the narrative, will simply dislike it.

Albeit, whether or not the second will share anything that’s been criticized with the first, well, we’ll see with the demo.

I personally ignored the reviews and “ratings” it was given on Chrome Web Store, because it’s typically wise to ignore reviews and ratings on the internet (look at Netflix ratings and reviews for an exclamation as to why). Personally, I really should have taken more heed to the top review for it on Chrome Web Store, but I simply brushed them off as being another hater… man… was that a mistake on my part.

I do not tink they should finish the story,
I think it would be cool to follow you guy till he or she gets maried and rases that family.
I like BM but I would rather have wited and asked her to marrie me.

and then it goes off to you kiddys or something like that. I hate when a story “ends” because something will always happen next

I can’t read horrible grammar.
I can’t read a word of what was posted about me.
I’m worried it’s some type of troll language…

@Talon5505 You’re back *hugs*

I definitely agree with @Apillis, I felt the same way after playing the game. I did enjoy it, but it really did seem to ‘hate’ the player, and force you into being incompetent. I really do hope the next game doesn’t make the player a ‘tard’. There should have been a way possible to come out of some of the situations without losing face.

Yes, a young hero with the odds stacked against them should blunder things, but it should have been a option, make a wrong choice and blunder, not have every choice a blunder. Most players likely could have figured a better way through most of the problems, but no such choice was even given.

That being said, I would have liked an option to expose the Superhero group, I mean I felt Rebellion cared more about politics then quality of the super heroes, Jury was pretty bad, and they should have known this, but they still wanted his connections to city hall. I am dubious of that being super heroic, but then I am old school, I like my superheros like Batman or Superman or Captain America in that they will do the right thing no matter the cost. Some of the best Batman moments is when he walked away from the Justice League because he did not feel they where acting heroic, which I am glad they did allow that option even if you could not give such a reason.

I think the biggest problems with heroes rise was the lack of the ability to make morally ambiguous decisions, and you weren’t able to effect your characters alignment on whether you would choose to be a hero or a villain.
And I agree with those of you who said that the plot needed work and personally my character made me quite angry as well.
But with all that said I still really want the writer to make a sequel, and I’m looking forward to improvements.

When is the sequel going to be released? I know that the title of this page is whether or not there will be a sequel but that has been confirmed elsewhere so do any of you know the answer to my question or am I just going to have to wait in agony. By the way does anybody else notice that your powers are the exact same as green lantern’s?

I’d like to see a RoH 2. Like how the first game gives details at the end of how to get a perfect hero points.

Roh? Did you mean Hero’s Rise?

I had an issue with hero’s rise. i kept finding choices that said, “but for you, the choice is alredy made” Those ‘choices’ felt like BS. The entire point of Choicescript is its multiple choice. i was railroaded based on my stats. if they make a HR 2 that should be dealt with.

@VampLena Batman did that? He just earned 1000 awesome points in my book

@God_of_Demonz batman did a lot of things. Have you ever read some of frank millers stuff like the dark knight returns or maybe the watchmen? All great superhero stuff man. my personal favorite though is batman: knightfall.

OMG i noticed something, knightfall, skyfall, Batman isn’t Bruce Wayne, hes James Bond!

@God_of_Demonz ummmm…\

(No!! his cover is blown! abort mission! I repeat abort mission!)

i liked heroes rise first time i played then i replayed it and since them i hate that railroaded game when new game came i like to ask autor HAS The character be so stupid to dont see the plots going on or note her archi vilian is her sidekick its a pitty because its well written but interactive important choices dont have any
