I’ll check back again, though I had suspicions that it had something to do with the fact that my save was loaded from part 2 and not a new save created for part 3.
This is because the first time I tried the story, I created a character from scratch who had a romance with Dena and I did have my first intimate scene with her but when I played with a saved game from part 2 with Jolon, nothing happened, I restarted at chapter two and set it to not skip intimate scenes but it was useless.
Update: I played with Jolon again, set the adult content to on, the game notifies me but when the cutscene goes by, it takes me to the “conclusion” of the night with Jolon. Which again confirms that there is a bug somewhere.
When I wrote that I also meant the dialogue too. I’m sorry for not being clear about that. I also might be confusing scenes from Book 2 and Book 3.
For Jolon, I replayed Book 2 before starting with the save I had from Book 1 because I probably didn’t save it when I first played it 4 years ago.
When I decided to go on Kotori’s route I decided to replay Book 2 again for him because I wanted to actually get to know him and see what the romance was like.
Then when I went on Dena’s route I went all the way back to Book 1. Yes, I could’ve used the character creator in Book 3 but I forgot what it was like.
Different choices but the same npc response just as Nirbark described. It’s better to have few but meaningful choices so my advice is to cut down on empty choices that results in the same outcome. I like to replay and it disappoints me when it’s no different than the response I read before.
And sex scene. The only repetitive part I read is the response of each RO to you cheating.
Play as a male character and don’t be in a relationship. In chapter 6, you’ll encounter Winter who would normally ask you a question involving you and your RO. However, if you’re single, she’ll proposition you instead.
I think part of this is that there are little things that stand out as being very similiar. One I remember with Bly and Tiva is that right after one of the sex scenes there’s a bit where you make a joke about liking their ass or being fond of their ass or something like that, and that little bit is so similar between Tiva and Bly that it sorta just merged their scenes together in my head.
Author I replayed the game a couple of times and I really liked how the endings are having overlying tones of having consequences depending on how you end up finishing the game like how we’re being hinted at to choose our allies carefully.
@GreekWinter This is more of a suggestion but in book 4 could we have the augury/inferi fling be continued in a way that they can make the arrangement between them a regular arrangement but it would be dependent on if it is jolon/tiva that the mc has gone on their route and that MC x Inferi x(tiva/jolon) scene occurs.
I’m beyond excited for how were going to be dealing with our outcomes transitioning to book 4 because it feels more is at stake keep it pushing man hope your doing well too .
Since we keep gravitating towards the topic of threesomes, and at risk of sounding needy and putting upon you, is there any plans for Bly/MC/Tiva stuff in Book 4? I like them both a lot and I’m greedy but Wayhaven gave me more than my fill of two-timing asshole MC and I’d hate to hurt either of them by trying to romance both.
That’s exactly what I was talking about. Jolon and Dena were joking about the same ass) This repetition of phrases is kind of unnoticeable at first, but every time you reread the book it starts to catch your eye.
If you look at the ending and your on route with MC/Tiva/Bly you would get hinted at that they plan to talk about it and that their relationship is also discussed even in the mid chapters you get scenes Tiva pushing the MC to talk to Bly.
Im pretty sure it’s gonna be included and discussed about and we’ll see how the author is to interpret that but I strongly see them being a thing going into book 4
I am unable to reproduce the error and no other beta testers or current players have reported the issue to me. I want to figure out what may be causing the issue, but I need more data.
Is it possible that you may have kept adult content off in book 2 and that was brought over in the old save?
The small Werewolves 1, chapter 4, Bly/female MC bug was fixed in the latest patch. It should be fine right now.
I’m not sure what you’re asking for with Dena. Please tell me which scene, which book, and which chapter it is where you’re concerned about the wording.
I’ll look into the possibility of ass admiration redundancy, heh. Maybe that was just a bit of my personality leaking into the script. Every one was written separately, but my tendency to compliment my partners’ posteriors may have influenced my writing.
I’d like to add that, but it will really depend on how much time I want to take to put every last little fling into the book. I’ll try, but I’m only one guy!
Yes.
Thank you so much! Can’t wait to get more content out for you folks!
I did enjoy the game but I just feel like I gotta point out, after browsing the code, there are a lot of scenes where characters replace one another. Depending on the status of Jolon, Dena, Haken, Riveira, etcetera, dialogue or narrative isn’t rewritten, there is just a variable deciding which name will come up. The intros to certain (NOT ALL) RO scenes are also the same than others, before you consent to the sex, not the sex itself, or the post-sex, that is different. In some plot scenes Tiva, Bly and others replace each other depending in availability of the character. I read almost all the scenes through the code and I feel fairly confident about this. This is just to say I think they do have a point there. But I understand it from the author’s perspective, the game is long and its hard to get the time and the mindspace to write different scenes for everything.
I actually don’t even have a problem with this I’m just hoping to clarify their perspective. As you point out the romantic scenes are incredibly developed and varied, its insane how far the trilogy and CoG in general has come in this. The game is very well-crafted, my complains would be more so about pacing in the first few chapters, my favorite scenes in this game (and the previous ones) end up being free-roams later on, and how I wish characters were more reactive through plot or normal dialogue to things you have done in the past, variables to point it out like with the Sonoma book 2 sex scene, or Sonoma giving you slack for not siding with her at the end of the last one, those two are good. Also, the “roping in” of all the paths into Maker’s base was done well considering the plot necessity.
Some funny comments left in there, one about amab Inferi comes to mind lmao. Also, massive props for giving fem players an opportunity to still date Tiva despite it being a bug, that speaks to a lot of dedication to me.
I think I found the issue, but it only happens if the adult content was purposefully turned off in Werewolves 2 and then the player turns it back on in Werewolves 3. I’ll push a patch for it early next week.
And there are very good reasons for that. Notably, every one of those characters can be dead, but it’s highly unlikely for them to be dead. (Let’s add Augury to that list, too. She can die in book 2.) So in the event that they died, their lines need to be spoken by another character. Re-writing every single one of those lines for the less than 5% of people who had that character die would be a ludicrous waste of time that I could have been spending on making the main game better. In fact, it would create so much bloat that I wouldn’t be surprised if my editor told me to cut it out.
Can you even imagine if I had to add completely alternate dialogue for every line Dena or Jolon said throughout the entire game? That’s a pretty big ask.
So, yeah, there are tons of lines of dialogue that change the name of the character talking in certain specific circumstances.
That being said, even with these character death examples I still put variance in where it was necessary. Tiva usually subs in for Augury in the event that Aug is dead. An awful lot of the dialogue is different for her by necessity, since otherwise Tiva would be randomly professing her love for Inferi. Some might love that, but it would be a significant continuity error.
That’s standard coding for any complex piece of interactive fiction, the details of which I explained at length above.
I assume you’re talking about the start of the intimate scene in chapter 8, since all intros are completely different in the other main sex scenes in chapter 2. Yeah, in chapter 8, all the ROs surprise you by waking you up from where you fell asleep in the chair and take you to bed, after which the RO scenes diverge. It’s a transition page from one scene to another which I didn’t think needed to be written five times with slight variations per character.
I get it. I’m just trying to clarify mine.
It’s kinda funny how varied people’s reactions to the pacing on the game are. I’ve actually had testers praise the opening chapters while suggesting that the later chapters are exhausting. I guess everyone is different
I did what I could. I didn’t want to screw over anyone who had a save with an F/F Tiva relationship by saying: “Well, you guys broke up.” That would be so disrespectful. So I tried to account for all possibilities at least to a certain degree by grandfathering those saves in.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’m relieved when I hear readers say that it was worth the wait, because I know I’ve kept a lot of you folks waiting a LONG time, so your patience is very much appreciated!
In fact, I wanted to play through the entire series again, figuring out all the most favorable decisions and dialogues to shape my MC in part 3.
But I think that by repeating chapters, I wanted to skip the intimate scenes with Jolon to go faster. And that may be how that setup was saved for part 3.
Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this issue despite the wave of comments you’ve been receiving lately. Have a nice weekend and good luck with your next post.
I have to betray Maker or dad or Sonoma one time all three at once, why must this happen why would you make me betray people that i care about like this you cruel devious man
