Soooo, what’s new in this patch?

This is still mostly bug fixes. The big content change is in the meeting where Makayla reveals that vampires do exist in Jericho. Most players felt it was an unrealistic scene where everyone just accepts that vampires exist. I made changes where people doubt the existence and need more proof, and I carried it out for several chapters.

Otherwise I have been working on additional content, but it’s not ready yet. First up is True Faith.

Will the planned additional content cover things like the MC getting the Thin bloods to turn him/her into a vampire as a reward for defeating Chastain (and possibly get the romance option, if human, turned as well)? That would be interesting to explore.

Also, I feel that there’s something about Dana(?) (can’t recall her name without re-checking the game - but I mean the blind lady) that seems like an unsolved mystery, like my suspicion that she and the Mayor are sipping blood products from Chastain, to fight physical ailments and getting older. Will these issues be addressed in the new content?

Thanks for your time working on this game. I’m just keen to explore new angles on it, after a gap of several weeks waiting for additional content!

Hi. First of all I want to say that I really enjoyed the game, I finished my first playthrough yesterday. My only criticism would be the last chapter, I wish it was a bit longer, I felt like I needed more time to say goodbye to the characters. Anyway, I have a question about a particular event in the story and I hope someone can help me to understand what I did wrong.

So, I agreed to help Chastain when she promised me to help Adam with his paralysis, probably not the smartest decision and even tho I did not expect her to keep her promise, I decided to give it a try anyway. At the end of chapter 11, I did what she asked, I lured Monroe to her and I let her deal with her (this was the plan, she never asked me to kill her or something), and I managed to convince Monroe to give up, and Chastain was very happy with the outcome. In the last chapter there was no mention of the promise she made me, she offered me to become a ghoul as a reward for helping her and I refused. Now, I wasn’t really expecting her to keep her word, but I wish I could address it when I met her, something like “hey Chastain remember that we had a deal”, or something. Did I do something wrong? Did I have to kill Monroe for Chastain to keep her promise?

Now just for curiosity, is there a way to make Adam walk again? I’m asking because the game addresses the possibility but I didn’t manage to do it, I even tried to level up faith since the stats page mentions miracles but I only got to level 3 and I guess it wouldn’t be enough, I think I’ll try again with a proper faith build if a True Faith update is on the way.
Anyway very good game, I had a great time playing it!

Hi Giubs. Welcome to this forum.

I think I can help!

During one of my playthroughs, my MC did help Chastain, on the condition that she helped to find a way for Adam to walk again. From my rough notes, my Path of Immortality was 0%. This caused Chastain to reward me by getting me involved in her ‘bring tourists to Jericho Heights’ venture (Ending 5), but also a conclusion where Adam tells you he is making progress towards walking again (after being given some of Chastain’s blood).

It’s possible that if you accepted Chastain’s offer to turn you into a ghoul, she would’ve gone on to address Adam’s disability. But I don’t know.

My advice would be to decide in advance what Endings and outcomes you wish to aim for. The Paths and their percentages will effect which Endings become closed to you, and which become more likely to happen. Since your character had the chance to be turned into a ghoul, I’m guessing that your Path of Immortality was something like 10-25%, and that your Path of Righteousness was very low.

Anyway, have fun with your future playthroughs!

Thank you! I think my path of immortality was 0, and path of righteousness was very low as well, the path with the highest score was definitely knowledge. I wasn’t involved in the tourists thing, and Chastain didn’t give Adam her blood, so I guess I missed something, maybe you’re right, I had to accept to become a ghoul. I guess Adam would have become Chastain’s ghoul too… maybe it’s for the best that I didn’t get the option, I wouldn’t want him to become her servan to be honest, I’m happier with the ending I got.
Thanks for the help! I’m willing to play it again, maybe I’ll wait for future additional content or updates for the next run.

I actually really enjoyed the game because it was very low stakes and worthy of a Hunter’s Hunted campaign. Amanda Chastain is a 13th generation Toreador and kind of an idiot, which is the only reason that the player characters stand a chance against her as well as the Thin Bloods opposing her. If Amanda wasn’t flaunting her powers and living in a small town where she could pretend to be Prince then you would never have found out about her or been able to kill her. A stronger vampire would mop the floor with your Frog Brothers gang. Plus, the game is clear that Chicago’s vampires are going to come and murder her for her how much of an idiot she is.

Plus I love Monroe and Lacey. Great romances. Salem too.

If you don’t murder her yourself, but make enough noise about the goings-on that news starts getting out, they do EXACTLY this. It was actually the ending on my first playthrough. Unauthorised siring is bad enough, but then LOSING CONTROL OF THE CHILDE? Congratulations, you just won yourself a Final Death, courtesy of the Camarilla.

I too love the Monroe romance, and wish there was more of it.

I was a bit disappointed there’s not more Kyra content. I think I was missing a way to learn more about her and Eric.

Does anybody else have an issue where the game completely resets on them? I just opened the game now to pick up where I left off a few days ago and it’s started me over automatically. Just want to know if this is normal or a bug on my game

There was a patch not long ago. I THINK those reset the playthrough, so that might be it.

Amanda is a 13th generation vampire? Was that revealed in game? I don’t remember reading that. If she is a 13 generational vampire then does that mean that our mc in night road would beat her?

Yes. Considering that by the endgame our MC is capable of truly terrifying feats.

Yeah, I feel like the vampire antagonists in a Hunter game at this level have to be idiots, because that’s the only way a ‘normal’ person with no previous knowledge of vampires and no access to SI-level resources can actually take one down.

If Chastain was smart and competent and handled shit properly then you’d either A) never know she existed or B) she’d smoke you out of the gates. You certainly wouldn’t learn about her because some precocious pre-teen Girl Detective cracked the case.

Oh, easily. The Night Road courier could take Chastain and the thinbloods and the Hunters, probably all at the same time, and Lettow would give them maybe a couple thousand bucks for it and nobody would ever think about them again.

Amanda is 13th gen because she is full blooded vampire that can create a full blooded 14th gen vampire or a thin blood.

In VTM lore, 13th gen is the last current generation where you are guaranteed to be a full blooded vampire (though sometimes exceptions do occur). If a 13th gen vampire embraces someone, that 14th gen has a 50/50 chance of being full blooded or a thin blood. If a 14th gen embraces someone, that childe is 100 percent thin blood.

Thus, Chastain has to be 13th gen since she can create a full blooded and thin blood vampires. If she was higher gen (12 or higher), there would be no thinbloods while if she was 14th, she could only create thin bloods which isn’t the case in this game.

As for beating the Night Road Protag, nah Amanda would get her assed handed to them. Generation doesn’t inherently mean better but given how many disciplines the Night Road protag can learn and all the shit they have to do, they’d no doubt be able to take down some dumb 13th gen like Amanda easy

Is it just me or does the Monroe romance not unlock the “End game with a romance” achievement?

I got the ending where she became human, visited the store, and asked if I wanted to continue a relationship with her (I had sex with her), but no achievement.

Does Monroe not get you that achievement or do I have to get a different ending?

Also, how do I get Adam and Salem to start dating? I heard it was possible and tried to get them together in my Monroe romance playthrough, but nothing apparently happened

Even then, it’s not Amanda’s fault that her petty Princedom fell apart. Amanda, for all of her aggressive vampire craziness (leaving incriminating photos around and portraits like she’s in Fright Night), is only revealed by Perry. Perry is a Low Humanity Samedi (he diablerized his sire so he’s not a Thin Blood) and is the guy who murdered a teenage boy as well as potentially others. Amanda is wiping the memory of everyone she’s feeding on, including Lacey.

(Amanda seems to have a type since Lacey and Monroe were her prey)

Part of the “humor” of Out for Blood is the fact that Chastain is a 13th generation Toreador who is probably no older than an Ancilla (and that’s stretching it) but she manages to utterly mop the floor with everyone around her unless you all just gang rush her with actual weapons. Even then, it’s her arrogance that gets her killed.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out how to romance Munroe. Anyone know how I can romance her?

You are very helpful to the Thin Bloods and agree to help her.

When Amanda Chastain shows up to your house, keep her at the door and don’t let her in.

Monroe will offer to stay the night.
