"Vampire: The Masquerade — Out for Blood"—Hunt the vampires that terrorize your town!

All in all, I think I would describe this game as a flawed success. $7.99 is a slightly uncomfortable price point for me, but it’s not one that’s keeping me up at night. Review, with spoilers, below:

It almost feels like the game can’t really decide what it wants to be. I think @Elseguard really hits it on the head with the talk about plotlines and what is and isn’t resolved. We learn about our grandfather, and that he had a major role in the town and was rivals with Chastain… and then we don’t figure out much beyond that, other than that he had a secret room. I mean, we can go to his grave and talk with a woman who used to have flings with him… but we don’t really learn anything from her. Another example: we read about the vampire huntress lady getting arrested and later escaping from prison, but then she kind of just falls off the face of the Earth (at least in my three playthroughs; even if she does pop up in other endings, it doesn’t make it okay for her to be completely absent after being so mentioned in the rest of the game).

EDIT: She showed up in a playthrough I did.

My other issue with the game is that there’s a frustratingly linear element to it at times that really messes with my ability to enjoy it. Yes, there are many branches you can take too do certain things in this game. However, the amount of things that ALWAYS come up are, in my opinion, just a little too much.

I’ll say this much: I’m happy with the game as a whole, and I’m happy with my purchase. However, if you really want the game to be what it could be, a massive expansion to rework and add on to it is in order. It’s just a little hollow.

I know I haven’t done a perfect job enunciating my feelings here, but this is my best for right now.
