UnNatural Season Two Released 4th May 23

I am now taking suggestions for some social events you would like to see happen in either Episode 5 or 6?

  1. Mission scenarios to have team members get used to working with other agents besides the MC and test their ability to work with said members, maybe with agents that have different personalities, backgrounds and opinions on how to handle supernatural threats. This could also function as a way to teach the trigger happy agents to show restraint by giving them a mission that requires them to work with their partner in order to succeed instead of just running off to kill the “monster” or jump the gun and kill a friendly. Also, teaching them to value the knowledge/skills of people from other units outside of their own instead of diminishing the work each unit does as less important.

  2. Sit-downs with agents after missions that are close to home for them or don’t go well, just to make sure we know how they’re feeling, and what they’re thinking. This could also be helpful to the recruits who aren’t experienced agents but have just joined due to their supernatural insight/nature for example characters like Jack and Denise.

A sort of after action meeting where the team gets together to discuss their past missions and the Mc’s recent adventure. Give us a chance to interact with the other agents that we didn’t bring and show the player that the agency that they are building is doing what they want it to

This might be a little sad in the storyline but I understand why the unnatural don’t trust humans and eat them like the werewolves and vampires or even intelligent Supernatural if you look at human history we have killed people and accuse them of being witches or say they’re inhuman because of their appearance so I’m really on the supernatural side not everything is dark and Light it is in a gray

There are good and bad humans just as much as there are good and bad monsters so I agree.

I don’t know if this has been asked, but can you save your character from Season One with the New Game+?

i’m wondering if there are will be penalties or problems to encounter if you play Season Two with NG+ character.

No not yet. It might be possible but would require a complicated switch of stats or have a lot of choices allowing players to pick every stat.

The official save is added once the first draft of season 2 is completed.

There is no current problems with a newgame+ character as its just template codes atm so it doesn’t actually change anything yet.

Sorry. Looking back, i made my questions a bit unclear. My questions should have been phrased as “once the save feature has been implemented, can you save an NG+ character from Season One and is it okay to play Season Two with a NG+ character from Season One?”

Nevertheless, you answered my query so thanks.

Ah my bad. Yes you will be able to save a newgame+ MC and carry on their story in season two.

I am undecided whether to only let new characters in season two use newgame+ codes. I know I intend to make season one codes valid in season two though.

i’m inclined to agree to have the new characters to use Season Two’s NG+ codes since i just feel like it’s fair. It’s also pretty cool that Season One’s codes can be used in Season Two.

My MC wins the game but i can see the dialogue if their partner wins. The game gives both the MC and the partner a win, not a tie.

Happened if you go with the “Chase after them” path in the Spare Parts Case.

i checked the code and saw that there is an option to spend Christmas with your partner.

Happens if i chose the From Dust Case in Episode 3.

I’m currently working away on the funding system as I am making a general funding scene that I can repeatedly *gosub_scene to save having the same code multiple times.

This also means having to come up with a common price list for how much you make from this case as currently it is a bit varied.

I am considering having a base value tied to the Threat Level ( Level 1 = $2500 Level 2 = $5000 and Level 3 = $7500 per case).

Then having a few points where you can earn more or lose some of it (such as the client being dead or alive at the end of “Buried”).

What would you say is fair payment for cases. Some additional thoughts would be appreciated.

Each member of SCI gets $500 dollars a month wage wise (but this is just a start point this will more than likely Increase when I settle down on the payments for the cases.)

Wouldn’t this punish the player for investing in research? Since, I believe you said that good research could lower the threat level on a case?

I’d rather just have the payment offer listed on the job description before we take it. You could still tie it to some pre-research threat modified variable, I guess, since the larger the threat the more desperate and generous people are to make the problem just go away.

Iirc I mentioned some threat levels can change depending on when you do the case. What the higher research will do will make it more accurate. For example Case A is considered a level 1 threat normally but your choices can make it level 2. The proper research level would make it identify as a level 2 straight away as you would be able to get more intel prior to mission.

So would I get paid more or less or the same if I make these choices that cause it to become a level 2?

Huge fan of the first installment, and the sequel is showing promise. Not a huge fan of the dual perspectives however. Too much of a Heavy Rain vibe, working against yourself in one way or another.

You would get paid more the choices that cause it to become a level two can cause more negative outcomes.

edit: to explain a little clearer the case “Buried” if you do it first the vampire stays trapped so it stays with its lower threat level. If you do it second then the vampire escapes and you have to deal with ghouls which ups the threat level. With the proper research you will have more information which causes you to make it the higher level from the start regardless of when you do it. Do it first without the research you will get paid the low level funds do it second without the research you get the higher level funds. do it with the research you get paid the higher level funds regardless.

Currently hunting a bug where a boolean that is set to true is not triggering although it seems to trigger sometimes.

Choicescript can be curious sometimes…

edit: found the culprit my rapport file it checks for values you can achieve in season one but as season two currently you create a new character the value i set is a point too low!

Working with more coding and have come to the conclusion that SCI is becoming a much bigger entity than I want. So will be streamlining them to more like a private group than a full blown organisation.

This means lowering the total number of staff members and replacing the warehouse/underground facility with a converted three story mansion that was also an ancestral home of a witch complete with a few magical adjustments (this also lays the foundation for the story thread that draws the stories of the protagonists together).

This change doesn’t affect the cases and general story so much just a few scene’s but in the long run it’ll make for a more fun experience.

I found this in the Witches and Warlocks case
