I’m curious. What determines whether or not you can do anything in the werewolf camp scene? I haven’t able to figure it out. Sometimes you can shoot he kid and it’ll just wound him, other times kill him, sometimes you can tackle him, sometimes you don’t get any options, and I’ve tried this multiple times with carious skill levels but it seems random.
technically its not random as the awareness stat determines whether you can tackle him and the firearm stat (which initially is random either 1 or 2) determines whether your shot kills or wounds him)
I can message you the exact level you need the stats for each option if you want.
i like it cant wait to see more
I would like more places where you get to sympathise with the monsters, if that’s not too much to ask
!!!SPOILERS!!! I wish I could ask Ashley more than one question. Like, I’m glad she’s ok, but I want to know what happened to the others as well. Like, what happened to Victoria after she shot me? How did she end up escaping and sneaking into the hospital to try to shoot me again only to be unceremoniously killed off? It’s also rather obviously suspicious that Alexendra would casually brush off the my explanation of who shot me, but I suppose it’s possible she’s in on it as well. If she is though, she just pretty much admitted it considering that Michael was clearly shot, as was I.
Actually that whole thing with Victoria being killed off like that kinda bummed me out. Maybe it’s the fact that nothing really is known about her but she was basically the most interesting character in the game to me. Also, there’s a bit of an inconsistency with the text where you know about the bomb threat even if you sit up before Victoria can mention it. Actually, if you do pretend to be asleep and just listen it makes the fact that you kill Victoria even more confusing considering she obviously has answers to some important questions. Like… what the crap is she doing? At first it seemed like she did this to get the guardian inside you, but then she tries to kill you again afterwards.
Hm, maybe I’m just looking for the wrong thing in this game. I think I’m expecting a much less linear experience than you seem to be intending to create. Nothing wrong with that. Just a difference of tastes.
-
I keep meaning to let players ask more questions will sort out for next update.
-
She can escape because of the loose vampire and only two people know she is ‘bad’. You and Michael.
-
Victoria was meant to have a bigger role you kill her by accident currently you panic and end up using shade. Ill fix that inconsistentcy.
-
Alexandra’s part is still being written as is the whole hospital part I uploaded an early attempt to gauge what people thought of the first glimpses of power.
-
The game is linear at the moment as I’m trying to guide the player to the point where all stats/powers are revealed. The hospital will change alot in next update as there will be different paths depending on if you pretend to stay asleep or sit up. I started having trouble writing so a lot of the hospital scene isn’t complete. The game should open up more after the player recovers.
Keep up the comments I need to know what works and what doesn’t. What did you think of the girl werewolf in the beta path?
-
-
- Hm, I do hope that means you’ll be adding more options later to allow for Victoria to not get offed so quickly.
-
-
The powers seem interesting, but I was a bit disappointed that we don’t get to control them at any point. Ren says ‘You did this’ and ‘You did that’ but as far as I can tell she’s the one doing it.
-
Hm, I really do hope that means Victoria doesn’t get offed so quickly… I keep forgetting that this is still the introductory part of the game, so I guess it has a good reason to be so linear. On the other hand I keep forgetting that this is the introductory part of the game… possibly because it’s been going on for quite a while now and I keep expecting it to open up a bit more. I admit, I’m probably comparing your game unfairly to stuff like Vendetta and Zombie Exodus which have both been in development for longer.
I was really disturbed by the werewolf girl to be honest. Having her chained up, unconscious, and helpless and then injecting her with something that forced her to transform just to be execute her… Well, I personally would have been a lot more pissed off about it than I had the option to be. Actually I would have argued before we even gave the injection that it was both immoral and illogical. Immoral because… well, abducting a woman, drugging her, and chaining her to a wall, then injecting her with something that supposedly triggers her already present werewolf transformation, and illogical because she was supposedly a test subject, but the only thing they tested on her was a drug that turns people into werewolves (supposedly they have to already be one) which was apparently designed for the sole purpose of allowing them to legally murder their prisoners at their convenience, which just seems like a huge waste of time, resources, and a rare test subject that could be spent on say, developing a cure. Or even trying to adapt lycanthropy to be controllable in order to create a bunch of werewolf super soldiers, even if we all know exactly how that would turn out.
Oh yeah, and another reason I’d be angry after she was dead is that, despite supposedly already having enough reason to believe she was a werewolf to drug her, abduct her and chain her to the wall, they didn’t bother to use chains strong enough to restrain her monster form for even a few seconds when they had decided to test a serum that was supposed to make her change in to it.
So yeah… I don’t really like it, but I get the feeling that I’m not really supposed to like it. Even if I don’t have an option to avert what basically amounts to a murder it would be nice to at least get the option to protest more strongly before and/or after the fact.
Course all that at least makes me feel less bad about poor Michael being shot to death shortly afterwards… Which is another reason to be upset when Victoria died.
BTW, Denise’s name changes to Delilah after she breaks the chains.
1,2,3,5) I will revert to the original plan with Victoria so she won’t be killed by you it’ll be someone else who is in your room.
-
the initial use of powers is meant to be a subconscious choice as you suggest perhaps guided by Ren. you will be the one using them after that. What did you think of the contract humanity in exchange for power? Did you think it was fair?
-
I’m glad the werewolf scene was disturbing as it was meant to be a shock. Though from your response it wasn’t clear enough.
The drug is supposed to force a werewolf to turn but they expected the werewolf to be weaker without the full moon (they were wrong)
The law states class a monsters are to be executed. Tests like this are one of the reasons for the ‘monster rights’ group.
I will definitely add more options to interfere and stop it. but law wise the srt can kill her but have to wait till she turns ( the drug is meant to be a shortcut)
They are working on cures but the tests are failures so far.
I’ll fix Denise’s name.
Thanks again for the comments.
Question who had to administer the drug you or Michael?
Hmmmm… Haven’t reached that part so I can’t answer your question yet, but, at the start, after you excuse yourself and go to your room, spelling error!
“Good Evening viewer, this is the latest news. The S.R.T have prevented a terrorists from unleashing a zombie outbreak in New Jersey. The operation lasted four hours, and there were only two allied fatalities. More information to follow at 10p.m, in other news Lucky, the New York fire departments mascot puppy celebrated his third birthday…”
Shouldn’t it be “The S.R.T had prevented a terrorist from unleashing a zombie outbreak… bla bla bla”
That’s weird: I clicked to read the e-mail that was not for me and got to read it, I then clicked the stats, and when I went back from the stats, the page showing that I managed to read it changed to it showing me getting caught by Alexandra. Oh, and I went to the stats again after that, and the page went back to me successfully reading it again.
Also, at the part where Barclay saves you.
“This is the best chance we’ve got, this will give me enough power to fight the 'vampire,” says Michael out loud as he presses a few keys on the computer and steps into the sigil.
You didn’t remove the ’ from vampire.
When you wake up after you calm down when you wake up after meeting your guardian:
“Don Michael is dead, what the hell was you doing in that lab?”
It should be, “Don, Michael is dead. What the hell were you doing in that lab?”
Well, if it’s not meant to have been intentional then it makes a lot more sense that you kill her…
Though I’d still wish there was a path where she doesn’t die since you’ve managed to make her so interesting so damn quickly.
Er… wait, someone else in the room kills Victoria, or someone else who isn’t Victoria comes in to the room to kill you?
It still seems like a massive oversight for them to have used restraints that would only be useful if the experimental serum they were testing on her worked exactly as intended and didn’t, for instance, only have the main desired effect of turning the woman into a psychotic ravenous beast while failing to cause the secondary effect of making her weaker than she usually is.
I understand that it’s legal and I can even accept that Michael and those two guards have no qualms about executing people who may have committed no crime other than getting infected with a not particularly contagious disease which turns them into dangerous creatures for one night every moon cycle… but I do really wish that your character at least could have a much bigger issue with it, even if it’s not a moral qualm and just anger at the fact that you almost got mauled to death by a werewolf because some idiot (probably Michael) didn’t consider the possibility that the serum might not work entirely as intended. It also seems pretty morally reprehensible that the serum they’re working on literally only exists to allow them to execute these people faster. It feels a worryingly close to Nazi death camp technology research.
I don’t know what to think about the contract since I don’t know what humanity of various levels or having the powers at various levels will end up doing for me.
In the original version a nameless assassin is who tries to kill you while Victoria was the voice on the phone. I changed it as I wrote it as I thought she would be better to kill than a nameless person.
In the version on the website you kill her by accident as you are trying to either grab her gun or put your hands up to ‘shield’ yourself but you’ll be pleased to hear she will be able to survive as the update will branch out the hospital part.
That is true about the serum the ideal restraints for werewolves are silver but that suppresses the change so the serum would fail. I will revise the scene accordingly .
As for Denise herself I really need to decide if she is a werewolf or a lycanthrope. as that is important as if she is the latter she will have killed someone, the former she will have killed something at least.
Regarding humanity and powers. I’m thinking the ability evolves at 30%, 60%, 90% (the higher it is the more effective it is)
Humanity itself is how much of you is left, as it lowers you merge more and more with Ren letting him/her have control (will be additional options) during choices.
Slight update to fix some errors and adds additional choices.

Still working on episode 2. Hope you all enjoy the changes.
So can you regain your humanity?
There will be ways to both regain it and increase it.
my game stop’s when i got see the test werewolf in the game like their is no next button
My game stops when I choose “What the hell is this?!” at the sight of Denise Dixon.
@vampierkid222 @Shoelip
I think I’ve found the issue causing the error.
It should work! If not let me know and I’ll have another look for it.

I’ve noticed that there is no opportunity for a conversation with David even if you save his life during your first mission as an Alpha. Yet I see that the conversation (davidchat) exists. It just never gets called. I was just wondering if this was intentional or simply accidental?
I tried to get the option to talk to him but it kept crashing so removed it until I can fix it.
Specifically i can’t get the hide_reuse command and if commands to exist on same line. might have to have two sets of conversation code.
have you tried placing something like the following:
*if not (daviddead)
__#I want to talk to David.
____*goto davidchat
inside of chat?
