Ultimata (Fantasy WIP)

I really like that idea, personalizing the short stories with MCs from the fans. As such, here’s what I had in mind.

Summary

Name: Thomas “Call me Tom” Yugani (I’m working under the assumption that he was born in an English speaking country but has a Japanese parent)
Race: Raiju
Appearance: A bit below the male average in height and with a lithe, athletic build usually wrapped in a loose, muted set of training attire with a comfy hoodie over it, the first thing people tend to notice about Tom is the magnetic pull of his bright amber eyes, set on a sharp featured face graced with the light stubble of youth. He has ivory skin and a mop of wild raven hair that refuses to be tamed, so he keeps it rather short, having to run a hand through it often to keep it from falling over his eyes.

Personality: A laidback and charismatic individual, Tom usually walks around with his hands in his pockets and a relaxed sideways smile on his face, as an outgoing and friendly demeanor is his default setting. He’s very flirty, enjoying when people engage him in banter or get flustered easily, though he will stop if people aren’t receptive, as he’s very emotional and empathetic. He is also, however, overconfident, impulsive and very bullheaded, traits that not always serve him well in battle or in more delicate situations. He’s an improviser, preferring to do things his own way and adapt to situations rather than going in with a rigid plan, no matter how detailed and dependable said plan is. While he enjoys fighting, he usually tries diplomacy first, unwilling to just come out swinging.

Fighting Style: Tom has been taught a variety of martial arts throughout his formative years, and the fighting style he uses is a combination of those. Preferring to fight barehanded, Tom mixes Capoeira, Taekwondo and Muay Thai to create a style with heavy emphasis on acrobatics, kicking and kneeing, though he will punch and even bite if the need arises. Not much for complex strategies or thought out traps, Tom aims to win fights by overwhelming his opponents with speed and sheer quantity of strikes, using his acrobatics to deliver blows from nearly any angle and making him extremely hard to predict and counter. Unless the situation is truly grave, he always fights with a feral grin on his face, even when losing.

Skills: Tom is an incredibly skilled acrobat, having dedicated himself to the craft as a way of tying his fighting style together and training his body to suit it. He has a penchant for doodling when he’s bored or absentmindedly climbing things to sit on top of them, be they tables, railings, walls, or, several times, trees. He’s a good public speaker but doesn’t really consider himself leader material, preferring to do his own thing most of the time. He’s also a pretty decent pickpocket and lock picker, remnants of a rebellious phase of his youth.

I don’t really have a preference for what sort of interactions I want to see my character in, I’m just really interested so see what you’ll do with him, if you choose to include him, of course.

Since it’s also my first comment on this thread, I’d like to say that I really enjoy all the worldbuilding and characterization you’ve put out so far.

Keep up the great work and sorry if I went a bit overboard, I couldn’t really stop myself.

Hmm, I believe you misunderstood me. You will meet Felicia in the first book along with the rest of Laurence Unit. You will meet them around the middle of the first book. However, the actual romance path with Felicia won’t start before the second book. You can still flirt with her though.

I will keep that in mind. That shouldn’t be a problem.

They have both fangs and bat-like wings on their backs. Their tails are also mostly in the thinner side.

Yes, their attractions is still caused through their pheromones and no, the pheromones of the MC aren’t particular stronger. They are on a normal level. Though, thats probably still enough to influence most supernatural races.

You are right on that one. Misaki (the mother of the Raiju MC) is japanese.

Well then, allow me to welcome you to my story. I hope you enjoy it here.

Also, thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate them.

Do angels exist in this world?

Yes, they do

Are they normal beings or crazy powerful?

They are on the stronger side, but not as powerful as legends or the bible might depict them. Lyra and Darius proved that rather profoundly.

Cool! I believe they aren’t as good as the bible depict them either. Like can there be evil angles?

Name: Ayden Blackwood
Race: Soulmancer (gunslinger)
Appearance: He’s 1,75m tall, with a lean but athletic body, a sharp face similar to a wolf’s with shoulder-length straight black hair and blue eyes with remarkable eye bags that give him always a tired (and often hostile) look regardless of his real mood at the moment. He prefer to wear practical street clothes so he can easily disappear into crowds if followed or fight without problems if necessary at any time(usually a leather jacket with an hoodie and shirt under, jeans and combat shoes) usually of dark colors to blend well into the darkness at night or in buildings with little light.
Personality: An “always on alert/no nonsense” tipe of guy, blunt and very distrustful towards new people in general (especially powerful ones) and pretty serious and stoic even with his long known teammates. He’ll always put work before personal relationships and because of that he doesn’t have many actual friends or had romantic relationships, but even him can show a soft side towards the few people he consider close, in his own way at least. He’s cautios, humble, stubborn, with a realistic point of view of the situations and prefer to be always prepared for every eventuality in and out of combat, he doesn’t like unnecessary drama or violence and brutality in particular, however if necessary he can be pretty ruthless against his enemies, even kill them if absolutely needed be.
Fighting skills: Ayden as a gunslinger prefer to approach his enemies with long range attacks and well detailed plans that never include a direct up close confrontation with his targets (the common weakness of any gunslinger) so he often end many fights with just a few well placed shots. Still, knowing that a direct fight might be inevitable in the future against stronger opponents, he decided to develop his own close ranged fighting style called “Duel of fire” that basically consist of buying time by dodging the opponent’s attacks and retaliate with judo and other combat techniques based more on balance and speed than raw strength while searching for any weakness, and the at the right moment strike them with well placed punches, kicks and a brutal focused rapid fire assault with his revolver on the opponent’s weakspots. Plus he’s very good at reading people. (It’s important to to point that he adopted his current unfriendly behavior mostly because of the intense tactical training he’s gone through since childhood and his self awareness that in a world of mythical heroes and gods, in confront of them he’s just a glowing dude with a versatile gun and a good aim, so he absolutely must be much more careful in every aspect of life)

Isn’t that what demons are?

Angles aren’t really evil, but they also aren’t as benovelent as the bible depicted them. During the great war the angels were one of the most ruthless factions, known for never showing any kind of mercy to their opponents. All those who considered as enemies of their lord were slaughtered without exception. Also, most angels followed the (partly grueling) orders of their god without question. Darius liked to call them “mindless moths who blindly follow the light of their so-called allmighty creator”.

The angels were considered as the most dangerous factions during the great war, feared even by the most powerful pantheons due to their large armies that could eradicate entire countries if their lord wanted them to do so. However, all that changed after the “Battle of the Silent Valley”, which is considered as the greatest defeat the angels ever faced and which costed them more then 70 percent of their entire forces. Thereafter the angels were merely a shadow of their former powerful selfs.

The angels, like many other powerful factions during the great war, had the misfortune of crossing paths with one of the Eight Elder Dragon’s. However, they were particular unfortunate since they didn’t had to face one but two Elder Dragon’s, on top of that the most feared ones. These two Dragon’s were Lyra and Darius, the eldest of the eight siblings. The battle that would go down in history as the bloodiest fight during the great war. 700 thousand angels led by five archangels against two Elder Dragon’s. The armies of heaven against the combined forces of light and darkness. Though, in the end their numbers didn’t brought them anything. They faced the full wrath of two Elder Dragon’s and a defeat that would haunt them for many centuries to come, since it showed the whole world that even something as powerful as the angels can be as easily defeated as any other race and that even their all-mighty creator can’t protect them from everything.

Alright so long time lurker here and I finally just got finished going through all 2000+ comments. First I’d like to say I’m digging this wip. Second, you kinda confused me a while back when you revealed the Mc mother’s names. It you wrote names for both the races and the classes. Don’t the players have to choose a race and a class or am I being a clown like my profile picture and missed something

Well, thats great to hear.

I think I can see what went wrong. Allow me to explain. The seven classes are all part of the Soulmancer race. If you pick the Soulmancer (and only then) you can pick one of the seven classes and based on your choice you will get a different skillset and a different sub-plot. Your mother will also have a different origin and backstory based on your choosen class. For example Lina (the mother of the Duelist MC) is german, while Rebecca (the mother of the Gunslinger MC) is irish.

Hi, there! Can I have some light?

Roll playing aside it’s good to find a fellow Pokemon fan!

Thank you everyone for your participation. It was really great to see all those awesome profiles each of you created, especially given how much effort all of you put into them. It probably won’t be all that easy to choose which ones of these great profiles I’m going to choose for my short stories. Also, I will try my best to be considerate of your wishes when choosing one of your characters, so that you might find them in a story of your liking. Once again thank you for your help. It was really appreciated.

By the way, I didn’t asked this before but would you like to know a bit more about the first short story I planned on posting after the new teaser?

Yes.

Of course!

Alright then, here we go. However, since I don’t want to spoiler anything vital beforehand I won’t go too much into detail regarding the plot.

But back to the concept of my first short story. I hope you like it.

The first short story will have the title “A melting Heart” and will be centered around Yukio, our dear Yuki-onna. It will also feature the mother of the MC along with the ten year old versions of Christina, Emilia and the MC. As you can probably guess, this short story will be set quite a bit in the past. The crude gist of this short story is: Chris and Mia are staying overnight at the house of the MC. However, when suddenly a emergency comes up which requires the full attention of the MCs mother and forces her to leave the house she needs to quickly find someone who could watch over her child and their friends. So, she calls her most trusted friend Yukio and asks her if she would be willing to play babysitter for one evening, to which Yukio agrees (though not without a couple of concerns of her own since she isn’t really all that experienced when it comes to children).
So basically, the short is about Yukio, someone who has almost no experience with the handling of children, has to suddenly take care of three young supernaturals, which means that chaos is almost inevitable.
The main point of this short story is to shine a bit more light into relationship between Yukio and the MC along with their mother and to show that even someone with a “frozen heart” can have a softer side. Also the whole short story is completely on the comedic side, so please don’t expect anything too serious.

By the way. For all those of you who don’t know who Yukio is or simply don’t remember her, here is her profile which I posted some time ago:

Summary

Yukio Orimura
Gender: Female
Age: ???
Species: Yuki-onna
Affiliation: Hawkwood High (formerly) / D.S.R.
Occupation: Teacher (formerly) / Expert for Magic and the Arcane Arts
Body Height: 170 cm
Appearance: Yukio, as befitting for her race, is a tall, slender, elegant woman with pale white skin, deep blue eyes and long, pale hair reaching her knees. Her hair is done up using a hairclip created from her own ice, resembling a snowflake that changes everyday due to her cold aura. She usually wears a light blue kimono adorned with snowflakes along with an obi sash with a hexagon pattern, which also harkens to the hexagon shape of snowflakes. She also tends to wear her kimono somewhat loose, exposing her rather large breasts slightly. Also, typical for her kind her eyes distinctively lack pupils, adding to her icy design and her body temperature runs constantly around 0°C.
Personality: Yukio, as expected of a race associated with the cold, is very emotionally distant, thus making it difficult for her to express herself openly and for others to find her intimidating. While polite, she can sometimes come off as quite standoffish and sullen. However, what most people don’t know is, that Yukio has also a quite kind and caring side to her cold personality. She is someone who puts the well being of others over her own and she would do almost everything to help and protect those who are close to her.
Yukio and the mother of the MC are friends and know each for a suprisingly long time. What the exact relation between these two is is unknown, however it is save to say that she cares deeply for her since she usually shows genuine affection and a certain “warmth” while being in her company (which is quite unusual for her kind). She also cares deeply for the MC and treats them with almost parental care.
Abilities: As a Yuki-onna, Yukio possesses the power of Cryokinesis. Thanks to this ability she is able to drastically lower the temperature of her surroundings by choice, which she can use to create ice or to freeze objects or opponents. Though it is important to note, that she can lose control of this power if she gets emotional or if she doesn’t pay attention of her surroundings. When this happens, she could even instantly freeze something like a bath filled with hot water. Another unique ability that is typical for her kind is the power to manipulate the weather of the area around her. This ability causes the weather to become snowy wherever she goes, though she does not always seem to realize that she is using this power. There might be situations where she would unconsciously change the weather of her surroundings. She also possesses a extremly wide knowledge in almost all fields of magic and can even easily cast several high rank spells, which makes her formidable magic caster. However, while she is without a doubt a more than capable magic caster she rarely uses actual magic and instead relies on a more pratical and less popular field of magic craft, the creation of magic-inspired amulets known as Ofuda Charms. This particular art is a field were Yukio truly shines. Some of her charms are even said to be powerful enough that they could easily compete with some of the highest magical arts and spells.

Lastly, here are two examples to give you a idea for how Yukio would look like in my story:

Is possible for any of the created characters to make it into the main story?
