The Wayhaven Chronicles: Book Three (WIP -FINAL DEMO)

Damn, this hit like an avalanche: quick, destructive, yet beautiful. With the first two chronicles having some of the best writing in HG, I can’t wait to see more.

Been trying to play thr demo for hours with no luck

Must be surreal to know that so many people love your story to the point it caused the site to crash :joy::heart:

OMG! I’ve been waiting for this!
Thank you @Seraphinite for the demo!

Dashindon crash way too much for me to play all the routes.

About A, I love the character but it’s a tedious relationship where we have again all the avoiding thing.

I’ll totally understand a tired MC who goes see elsewhere.

I hope A will finally start to make the moves 'cause MC will become bored soon enough.

About M, I loved it ! It was such a delight to read his route after the dispointment of A’s route. Unfortunately dashingdon crashed again and I can’t say more. M is slowly but surely becoming n°1 ~.

Only 2 chapters and the variation of scenes for each option is insane!!! Now I can just imagine the full book… whew

Thank you Mishka!! <3

Oh and I just can’t stand myself for getting too riled up with M doing the bare minimum to make me scream like … just an ounce of care, comfort, softness towards the MC and I’M LIVING FOR IT

I know A wouldn’t be for everyone but I dig the “avoiding thing” and he’ll come through with the moves. For me, A’s route is slow slow burn.

Do you want to crash the servers? 'Cause this is how you crash the servers.

And I totally understand. I loved the interactions and even the “avoiding thing” in books 1 & 2. But in book 3 it’s too much. For a slooooooow burn like that, personnally I don’t think we have enough sweet scenes to compensate. But it’s my opinion.

This is a nice surprise!! Can’t wait to play it!!

To put it simple, I love cliches and I love soap opera drama, haha. I am not someone who is hard to please when it comes to works of fiction, and good ol’ cliches work for me most of the times. What is that saying, if isn’t broken, don’t fix it? Or something like that, I believe.

You clearly have strong feelings for how A’s route is playing out, feelings that I obviously don’t share hehe, but hey, personal tastes are a thing for sure, so if that route is not your cup of tea, then it isn’t!

I love emotionally constipated ROs, specially when they have a constant struggle with themselves. I love the way it hurts me when I see A turn around once again, not only for my Detective but also for A himself. It’s just great to see how he is pretty much committing self destruction in order to do what he believes it’s right, when in truth, he is using the “this isn’t right” as an excuse to hide from his own tremendous fear.

I really, really love that type of pain conflict, so of course, A was going to be a must play for me from book 1 . Also, this might only be me, but I really love relationships that suffer a lot of struggles together, and when both RO and MC have to learn to be better. I really dislike it when romances in these type of games feel like something in which the RO has to adapt to MC while MC does… pretty much nothing aside from being available lol.

That’s the thing, so do I. In fact, I write several characters like that. But they’re not the same as A. It’s more… a confusion struggle than a “I can’t do this!” load of crap. They don’t understand feelings, don’t really want them, but can’t resist, despite all that, and are just a general pain in the ass. I suppose they’re more like M, now that I think about it. But they have A’s struggle with self (M has no struggle with himself, lol).

I guess that isn’t coming across to me. One of my big things is I like to feel when I read (not all angst, either, because that gets exhausting), and I like to feel for the characters. The only thing I feel for A at this point is flat out annoyance. He’s a large child who has a ginormous stick up his ass. In the demo, he bored me. In book 2, he had begun to grow on me a bit, so it’s a bit of a letdown to see him revert to the same hot and cold BS again, to a higher degree. My MC with him willingly made out with Bobby in b2, and at this point, thinks Bobby is a better catch than A.

That said, in a friend route, I love A’s constipated nature and general attitude. it works well. In a romance setting? Meh. I’ll struggle through it to see where it goes, though. For a while, at least. And if he’s in pain, more the better.

That’s the problem–there’s no relationship. If they were in one, and struggling and learning about each other, that’s fine. I LOVE that shit. I live for it. That’s a perfect romance story. But, instead, it’s all pining and longing looks and split seconds of A showing he might actually care only to back off and be a dick again. So there’s nothing to work with at all.

Absolutely amazing demo so far Mishka!!! Mason’s route… God, I love him so much :weary: Can’t wait to see what happens next and look at everyone else’s routes!.. and of course. Replay Masons a good five… ten… hundred times :joy:

I did notice a minor thing? Where a phrase gets repeated twice and it looked weird.

Summary

It’s on the path of letting Mason initiate the kiss!

If you have such a big problem with A just… don’t romance him? There’s no need to be nasty about his route, and there’s three other candidates

Not being nasty about it, I’m voicing an opinion. Just because I have issues with that route doesn’t mean it’s not salvageable, either.

Ah I see! I think for me it is kind of obvious that A is battling with himself a lot, or at least that’s how it reads to me, so I do feel for him, not going to lie! I really can’t see it as you describe above, but for sure, different people different interpretations!

Anyway, I am glad that you can enjoy the rest of the routes, but for now I am stepping down from the A debate since I can sense this ending on an endless conversation of “I see it this way” “oh I see it this other way” and then repeat

I cannot wait to play, this just made my morning!!!
