That’s my point. There should be communication. And there isn’t, nor is there any indication that there ever was.
But there is indication that R is trying to communicate and the MC is not.

R is trying to communicate after the break up. As you said. The MC doesn’t owe R anything after the cheating, let alone after the breakup.
It’s a two yes, one no situation. MC is clearly conveying that they don’t want to talk. That’s a form of communication in if itself, and one R isn’t respecting.
The MC, in this case, isn’t the one poor at communication, which R is, on top of R being poor at respecting boundaries.
I don’t think we read the same game.
No. We didn’t.
The game that I played is The Price of Emeralds by Thourne. That’s the game that this thread is about. If that’s not the game you’re talking about, I don’t know why you replied on this thread.
I think Sleipnir means it in metaphorical way. The way they interpret characters action is different than you.
I just realized Athena’s completely different from how I imagined her
What fuckin’ proof do you need? Seems pretty obvious to me and everyone else who read the thing.
A description of the relationship boundaries. And an explanation of what exactly R did.
They cheated. It’s obvious from them trying to apologize while trying to keep it a secret and the MC being heartbroken that it was an exclusive relationship. It’s not hard to understand.
…What? If those are in the story at all they’re definitely after I stopped.
What exactly did you do to get screenshot 2? That’s very important information that was not presented to me when I played.
Either it’s locked behind choices somehow, or it’s after where I stopped when it reaaaaally should be before.
It’s after you pick how you react to catching them cheating, screenshot 2 is what they say no matter the choice you picked anyway.
I never got an option to react to catching them cheating…
I don’t recall that text at all. I definitely wouldn’t pick any of those options with the information I have, though. None of them make any sense to me.
I’m gonna replay it…
They may not make sense to you for whatever reason, but the MCs relationship with R was clearly exclusive based on the reactions of both of them. R broke the MCs heart and trust so these options do in fact make sense for someone who was about to propose to their SO of 3 years.
I’m reminded of the bad detective, who tries to make the evidence fit his narrative, instead of letting the evidence form the narrative.
Ok, after playing through again, that screenshot 2 I mentioned really should be before that choice, and also… option 4 still makes absolutely no sense whatsoever because it’s patently false.
Aaand continuing to play through, I’m just faced with exclusively choice options that I would never take… the MC is just nothing like me at all.
