The Mysteries of Baroque — Rise from the dead to take revenge on your killers!

That’s the thing about horror. It’s not about the terrifying. It’s about the horrifying. What scares us about Frankenstein isn’t the big scary killer monster, it’s the fact that the man who created that monster is, himself, monstrous. What’s horrifying about Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde isn’t Mr Hyde jumping out of a closet going “boo.” It’s the fact that everyone has darkness inside of them that threatens to consume them if they indulge it.

Baroque has a few heroic elements to it. But it sets up, quite promptly, a dreary country that includes human tumors, faces whispering demonic chants on the back of skulls, cults that curse their enemies to consign them to insane asylums or worse, live snuff performances in the backrooms of theaters, and more.

I dunno about you, but all of those things are pretty horrifying.

I agree, But Like nowadays Horror, has a very limited meaning I was expecting what nowadays is horror. I love dark Victorian gothic novels. So for me, is a plus. However, I could see many casuals saying this is not horror… etc But like people will critize everything I was warning people that is not the actual horror.

I think people still don’t expect a horror book/game to = a horror movie.

I Don’t know I have downloaded horror if from other companies and there were many "This is not scary… Where is the gory…I want kill people? This is scam… etc etc… Hopefully, people that buy cogs are more educated and understanding that gothic novels is real horror stories. And the original source of Horror.

Sure. But let’s not borrow trouble.

I have tried multiple times to download this game and it always takes me to the choice of games app on my IPhone but the game never appears in the list of games to play. :scream: Idk what to do, I really want to play this game.

Update your app or delete it and reinstall it. Every time a game is released it is into a new version of the actual app.

Thank you! I figured out the problem and the game is appearing now.

I was leery in playing the demo but I did and it’s the first demo that really gripped me in a while. My only problem was discovering about the cousin really quick. Definitely a 5 star game!

Absolutely love this game! It’s so beautifully written and the concept and world-building is absolutely amazing.

Also, am I the only one who has a soft spot for Nicholas? That man is fine :pensive: :fist:

After all these talking about the MC being able to resurrect Chloe, but when I got that part I decided to let her die after all she died the way she wanted to and I thought it would be cruel to take that away from her.

It’s not really cruel, if you resurrect her with the lightning she gets to live to the an old age, and gets to be happy and becomes a famous actress. If you have alot of lightning left like I did, we both lived a long time together. She wanted to die that way because she never had a chance at life and was resigned with it, but you can give her a life to live.

I think @No_This_Is_Patrick has a point, Chloe was aiming to die initially maybe because she didn’t have someone who love or care enough of her, or someone who is willing to accompany her to taste all those life experience… if we re-animate her, and love her… it will give her a longer lifespan to experience love and caring she was lacking in actual life… the expanded lifespan also allow chloe and MC to taste other knowledge together and perhaps helping other people too

Also she never had a shot to live before. She always thought she was going to die so she thought she’d go the way she wanted and with someone who she loved. She never even got to say goodbye, dying before you woke up. So bringing her back isn’t cruel.

Yeah i agree… bringing chloe back is sort of like giving her to live a life that she really want … and most importantly allow her to experience the companionship she lack most of her previous life

@Eric_knight @No_This_Is_Patrick Sure after reading this I think it would have been better to bring her back but when I was at that part of the game I thought there’s no sure way to tell that her life would be happier if she gets a second chance too. Like it could also happened that I bring her back then the next day a lunatic murders her on the street or she wouldn’t have become so succesfull in her career or the MC dying before her and she spends her days mourning the MC etc, that’s definitely not how she would wanted to die I think.

Also I kinda find the thought of the MC living her life alone or rejecting anyone who would look behind her appaerence bc her heart still belongs to Chloe and keeping asking the question of “what if” kinda interesting (yeah, I have one of those moods).

Lol… my friend, i think no one could kill chloe or even us easily because we are dead already
Yeah , i understand what you meant about your mood, much like Quasimodo mourning over the demise of Esmeralda by hanging on to her body and starve to dead himself…

Well, I bought it, seems like a fun game so far. I thought the setting and the worldbuilding was well done, and I have particularly enjoyed the subversion of steampunk tropes.

Chloe could be killed easily. She doesn’t seem as phisicaly strong woman and the MC can’t be with her everytime. But that’s not the point. That was just an example of all the possible ways Chloe would die less happily as she seemed if the MC lets her die the first time.
