The Great Tournament Hints

Oh hello folks…

@Eric_knight I don’t remember posting something about being a fire mage  … But on my third and recent playthrough I did managed to become one with high enough INT…(around 10+)… never used it in battle though… Steps (kinda) are shown below:

  • Just managed to learn the basics from Ben before the “Staff” quest…

  • Went to Firebend for Ben’s Staff

  • After the quest, I asked the mages to let them teach me the Secrets of Fire which the refused immeadiately…

  • There’s an option for my MC to cast a fireball in his hand which made the mages surprised, gave me an apprentice’s staff and a book to learn from it. (Because the mages said it will took my MC 4-5 years to learn firebending but MC automatically refused since his main priority is the Tournament)

… so yeah I guess that’s it… I didn’t used it in battle yet though…

I guess it was another poster then :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

He mention he had the option to use it against Malik in the tournament, maybe it was in a the WIP article though :stuck_out_tongue:

But there was an option. I was fighting Malik and we were toe to toe (idk why because I beat him easily in my previous playthrough). When there was a lapse in fighting, the option to attack, defend, or shoot a fireball was there. Sadly, I hadn’t learnt fireball so I wasn’t able to use it.

i believe the actions in the game, like fighting or diplomacy are random generated events which determine by chance… with a higher stats we may have a +1 or +2 to our result (something like rolling a dice in pen-and-paper RPG)

so every time when we apply the action, the result may be difference…at least that’s what i encounter in my 2nd playthrough , where i didn’t manage to beat Vary in the dart competition and i fail the diplomacy check with the bandit to lower his ransom demand to one wagon…

I didn’t remember seeing the option of Fireball, but i had the option to bash Malik with the shield (only once)…
Malik’s life points was only around 25 when i face him, i suspect it was because my previous choice resulted in Sir Borne injuring Malik badly before he died in the semi-final. In that case, make sure you ally with Sir Borne and give him all the information you have

oh… then maybe you will choose the staff as your weapon against him then… I would love to burn that asshole to death after what he did to Sir James Bourne… :joy:

@GoldenM

hey that’s right, Ben said Fireball needs a staff to cast it right ? Maybe we need a staff … so if we use other weapons, the Fireball won’t appear?

I chose sword and shield… and slice Malik’s throat quickly

I am wondering what happen if we are poor in archery and fail to hit Malik’s father, will Hannah survive ?

Hey there i just want to say that i got the option to cast fireball when i face malik in the final but i did not choose it.still i think the requirements to cast fireball is first you need to choose to hone your intelligence in training for the grand tournament second ask ben to train you in fire magic(do not deny it,you will get 3 choice when the fire start to surround you choose clear your thought),third chat with ben first then go to firebend to retrieve his staff, fourth ask the mage to teach you the secret of fire and of course ben is staff. I think you will get the option to cast fireball when facing malik

Hey hey i did all that… and the Master Mage gave me sort of spell book

I even visit all the libraries , they only improve my wisdom (i think)… but i did’t see the Fireball option…

so i suspect it should be either the staff or i need to improve my intelligence

and @John_John_John, i don’t think we can burn Malik to death…LOL , most likely decrease his hit points by 10 or something :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

and yeah, it was brutal how Malik cheat to kill Sir Borne, i was hoping Sir Borne would survive … in the end, my mood change when i realise Sir Robert was alive and i got to marry princess Hannah

oh… apparently there’s only one on this thread who managed to use fireball in battle then I think? I hope there will be part where we can utilize being a fire bender… like a flaming sword or something…

@Eric_knight … you’re really into Hannah eh?
… as for me I bang all the girls first before random chosing whom I will marry… :imp:

Interesting …although Flaming sword usually is a Magic weapon where the fire will linger on the blade…else if we cast fire spell on our common blade, we might melt our own sword…LOL

However, it will be cool if we throw a fireball with one hand while slashing enemy with blade in our other hand :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

and yes, i won’t want the Rebels or Republicans to have any excuse to overthrow me , Hannah was the first girl i interact with before i realise there were 3 others for us to choose, so i just stay with her

Come to think of it… we are Kings that can hurl Fireball , i say that is our Mandate Of Heaven…LOL

Yep, i did…Played it too many times till i got it right XD

Get intellegent in the game. what i did in my game was when sir robert died then i had to train i chose intellegence then instead of rasing wisdom i insisted to learn fire magic. Ben will train you, counts 10 to one , you have to clear your mind/thoughts for this to work . then visited ben after that to get his old staff. went to jooust in fire acedemy , won, ask fire book by most powerful magician and took the new staff with me and gave it to ben. then at the competiotion face to face with somebody in the final round i chose to burn him and won the tournament.

Yes, allying with sir Borne does reduce Maliks health. I reiterate my 1st statement, RNG handles everything. The option to use a fireball came after the shield bash option. It was also just presented there

oh…thanks buddies, let see whether i can finish reading the 3rd time today and try the Fireball

I just played the The Great Tournament though for the very first time. Absolutely loved the game! I just wish there was more to do as i didn’t want it to ever end.
I think i did fairly well, everyone except for (sorry i cant remember her name…Aisha i think) survived. I actually Won the Great Tournament in the end and killed Malik (I’m really bad with names but basically the guy who was a total dick) and then proceeded to shoot his dad with an arrow. I then ask for Princess Hannah’s hand in marriage as my boon. We had 4 kids and i found Sir Robert alive!!! Locked in a dungeon.
My final stats were:
Age: 21
Max Health: 55
Gold: 595
Strength: 7
Agility: 8
Leadership: 1
Intelligence: 8
Wisdom: 12
Diplomacy: 5
Melee Skills: 2
Riding Skills: 3
Archery Skills: 3
Light: 99% - Dark: 1%

And my winning score was 52

Sorry i am lazy but i played through the game 2 times foing for my 3rd now where can you apperently kis hannah never got that

Going not foing sorry

Well… It happens when you first arrived at the capital

After the feast, the following day when Sir Robert went to meet melinda, and after Hammah fenced with vary… you need to choose going to explore In town, Hannah will follow you from behind, allow her to join you… accompany her to the town, and choose to stay longer with her till midnight…

Before escorting her back to castle, she will kiss you
