The Chronicles of Hallarmuli (REVISED)

All emphasis is mine! Just a few errors, but I just wanted to say that you’re game is very good. I’m looking forward to see where it’s headed

You stroke the horse’s neck before promptly smacking in on the rear.

It should be ‘it’ instead of ‘in’.

Silence fills the air, the only sound the beating of your own heart.

There should be an ‘is’ between ‘sound’ and the’.

Your dagger i knocked from you had and his sword buries itself in your arm.

It should be: Your dagger is knocked from your hand and his sword buries itself in your arm.

You wait for him, and parry his sword in a shower a sparks.

From their what? There’s missing a word there.

I picked “Sister” but it registered as “Brother” in a couple of instances.

Thank you very much for the specifics! Also glad you enjoyed it.

Hmmm, it should not be doing that. I am using *ifelse variables, but I’ll make sure I check that out.

Are we going to have a Beowulf cameo or does that sound to silly.

Lol I wish. Alas, nothing so fantastical. Would incorporating Beowulf be copyright or not? No one knows who the author was like a couple hundred years ago

Well if not Beowulf then bearwolf is nice substitute, I believe that’s what his name translates too.

This is definitely interesting… sorry if this has already been answered, I’m a little strapped for time, but will we get the opportunity to see our sibling (changed it from brother; forgot we chose our sibling’s sex) again? I’m excited to see how the characters we know, know of, and will come to know pan out.

Also… I’m assuming the MC is relatively attractive? People were bidding for them pretty desperately, at least in my experience, or is that just women?

I’d have to double-check (by I, I mean someone else who can put in the effort), but Beowulf is considered folklore and even then his copyrights would have expired, unless you take a Beowolf from a book or etc. that has been written in the last 125 years (200 years if you wanna play it safe). So pretty sure it’s okay if you wanna do a cameo.

No, people were bidding for mc just as desperately if they’re a guy. They must be some sort of attractive, because my mc wouldn’t really be great for manual labor.

I made both pretty equal. Especially when the society of Vikings was so different. It happens to both, but for different reasons. As a women, sex is the reason mostly. The male is the same, however HE can do more labor intensive jobs, so in the long run he is more desirable.

As for your Brother/Sister yes you do. There is an entire subplot for him and his master who is actually leifs daughter, and a conspiracy leader, won’t say which one. In the non spoiler way. She recruits your Brother/Sister into a little conspiracy.
That will happen when you get to meet them again in maybe the third chapter.

The Vikings cared not for gender. If anything a fair lean guy? Pretty or not any man that sold him as a sex slave would get a heft of money, as long as it was for the right price. It’s harsh, but they did it.

Yeah. There are versions of Beowulf that are free on Amazon so I’m gonna have to assume that it’s in the public domain…or that version is anyway.

If you describe him without saying names, you can simply say they can’t prove anything too. :smirk:

I had been wondering as well if my MC was that good-looking considering the enthusiasm of the crowd and how much the slaver seems to have wanted to buy the MC.

Their enthusiasm was actually kinda scary. It was like watching a crowd get ready to storm the gates (entryway) on Black Friday. :anguished:

I really wonder how they plan to use the younger sibling. All of my MCs are pretty protective and all that.

Beowulf was written long before copyright was a thing. He’s very much in the public domain.

It is fairly good so far. And has a nice flow to the story. Your writing style is very descriptive and I can’t wait to read more. A thought though is with the weapon choices is that there be more. Like a sword and shield combination, and staff for people who don’t like to kill

I was thinking about adding more weapon choices either at this last checkpoint with Erland or for a final time at the end of chapter one right before a skirmish where you can go into the big armory and have all the weapon choices. If you choose to remain consistent then the bonus will be small if not then whatever stat that reperesents will get a larger leap, but then you have locked in your weapon choice. We will see.

Thanks, I look forward to updating, it will be a close one, but maybe next week?

No rush. I’d rather wait longer and have better quality then rush an author. Good luck. I really do look forward to seeing this story develop .

Aw thank you! I know it’s been a while since I updated. I have it all ready I’m just too lazy to code :joy:

It will be a bit different from this one, maybe drastically. I added a few new choices to the Prologue and Chapter 1 so :woman_shrugging:t2: We will see
