I like it so far but are you going to add “make your own name” option or do you have an inside joke for each one for each play through. Like a character makes a comment on it or gives them a nickname for using that specific name.
Also, do you have a reason for using two different choices when asking for the gender of the mc (the comb and brush)?
Yes if you say no to the mailman you can put a custom name and some lady’s use a comb some use a brush and some men use a brush and some use a comb

When you are asked Does he have the right person? you can say yes or no. If you say no you may create your own name.
It was pointed out that males can use brushes and females can use combs. We may change that in the future.

Do you mean like Alan Wake where his story had a soul of its own and started coming to life and is trying to kill the author b/c that’s the only person that can stop them.
I used both depending on what I’m trying to achieve with my hair. 
It does look a bit bizarre as it currently stands, I think it needs reworking. Refer to something else to pick gender (or lack thereof, as it may be too)? Just a thought.

This seems pretty interesting. I like the idea of trying to balance out writing your novel and having a social life, especially because in a lot of fiction that shows authors writing their bestsellers they tend to show that person focused solely on the novel and sometimes cutting out everyone for the sake of finishing their work. What kind of stats and factors do you plan to add into this, if you don’t mind my asking? Is there going to be a deadline for your novel, with the game counting down to the deadline and giving you a choice between spending the day writing or going out? Or do you have a different system in mind?
One thing I would suggest changing is the option to add a custom name. When I played through I couldn’t find the option, and I never thought to click the “No that’s not right” choice, since usually that’s there to give you a chance to go back and pick a different name from the list, rather than give you a choice to input your own name (of course, it does bring back memories of Sonic Adventure Battle 2, when you’d have to say you didn’t want a new name to enter a custom name for your chao).
I know it says in the replies where to find the custom name option, but I personally never read the replies on a WIP until I’ve actually played through myself to avoid spoilers, so I didn’t see that until after I’d already gone through the demo. I don’t know how many people are the same way, but even still, as the thread gets more replies a lot of people won’t stop to read through most of the past replies and find out where the custom name option is, so that question might come up an awful lot.
But this is your game, so if you want to keep the option the same then you can totally do that!

People do use both; the segregation doesn’t make sense to me. I carry both with me in my purse daily.
