so already starting I have a few complaints, 1. we have the option to write in our own eye color, but not our name. 2. Choosing how we brush/comb our hair is a bit of a jarring gender choice, we’re standing in front of a mirror so maybe, indeed you are a rather interesting:

Choice 1: Man
Choice 2: Woman
Choice 3: Person who doesn’t ascribe to gender labels

  1. Maybe add in a few more hairstyles that would befit a classic author

  2. Some choices feel rather unnecessary a.e what coffee you like the best or what you’re eating

  1. That bothered me too. Apparently, when you see your full name, you have to choose “no” to type it in.
  2. I don’t even brush/comb my hair in the mornings, and I dislike that being bald gives you no gender. I do wish that more people allowed for different gender choices (even if it’s just ‘guy’, ‘girl’, ‘undefined’ like in CoD.
  3. LOL. I was looking for “French Braid”.
  4. I do like authors who put in choices, but that is a bit unnecessary (and, your code doesn’t remember it, sooo…)

OK, some comments of my own. Mostly on the writing. And grammar.

  1. You wake up. You see light through your window in your
  2. Take out the your in either the answer choices or the beginning. No one does this: You wake up. You see light trough your window in your your 20 bedroom 15 bathroom Mansion. There would also be a comma in between bedroom and 15, and I would personally write out the words themselves.
  3. I think it would be Sweet COMMA nice digs.
  4. You observe your surroundings. Your desk is a mess COMMA papers strewn everywhere. There’s even one stuck to your arm. You get up and shuffle to the bathroom, yawning and stretching.
  5. You look in the mirror as you get out your eye drops and apply them to your…
  6. What? My eyes aren’t any of these colors.
  7. Nah, I think I’m still plagued by sleep. *yawn *
  8. Yes, my eyes are as sharp as a vampire’s.
  9. No, I think I’m still adjusting to the light.
  10. Of course, silly.

That’s how far I’ve gotten.

What’s the difference between Thriller and Suspense? Also you are missing the Adventure genre.

I do believe thriller is more action orientated and suspense is more, uh… suspenseful… The former do have the latter in it, but the latter is less about ‘will the protagonist survive to the next chapter’ rather than ‘what wicked things this way cometh?’ sort of, of a kind, somewhat… Perhaps?

I think of Thriller as more in-your-face-non-stop-testosterone action filled to the brim with guns and explosions that would make Michael Bay cry.

Suspense on the other hand I think as more of a horror/whodunit sort of thing, complete with mandatory murder and eventual reveal.

I think Adventure can fit prerty snuggly with fantastical stuff like Lord of the Rings and Stsr Wars-- these are books we’re talking about after all, and their genres are not as clear cut as other media.

I actually don’t like this in general, and would prefer having an actual description of the house.

I’ll add that in I’m a guy so don’t know that much about females hair so I did the best I could but apparently I didn’t do good enough:smiley::smiley::smiley:
Feel free to give me more examples of I’m missing them

I don’t understand could you explain a bit more like you what me to say after you choose a little more description after it instead if Sweet Digs?
Yes I can see that the gender option thing is kind of rough but it’s there for now but that’s definitely not the way your going to be choosing your gender in the future

Edit- The next update will definitely have a new gender changing option

I know guys with french braids

Like if you choose the 20 bedroom, 15 bathroom thing, you could be like, “You had bought this house back when you were just starting out. It was quite a gamble, but eventually you had accumulated enough to…”

Ok I understand now and thanks for the suggestion!!

The game was neat so far, but the naming bit was a bit confusing. I wasn’t sure if I was receiving a package for myself, my neighbor, my editor, my pet fish or what. I mean, I figured it would probably be my name but maybe if it was a bit more clear that the package is actually for the main character it would make it easier to pick a name. Also, I noticed in the first name selection that even if you say that you are a woman early in the game, there are still options for men’s names and that was a little strange to me.
I also found myself a bit bored near the end at the breakfast part, wishing we could cut to the chase and get publishing!
Other than this, it’s pretty neat. I’d like to play more of it and I think a lot of people would like the idea of being an author.
Also I don’t know that there’s a huge difference between suspense and mystery, but some people might like to select ‘mystery’ as their genre.

The next update will get into your social life and the outside world!!!

Definitely interested, I like writing myself when I get ideas for stories. Looking forward to more of this!

I got bored reading it though. Too many choices.

So what choices do you feel as are irrelevant?? But maybe you’re getting bored because there’s nothing to do really yet because if it is the next update will be pretty big!!:smiley::smiley:
