Tally Ho Spoilers Discussion

How do I marry Valentine. I thought after I freed him from prison, he’d whisk me away to Hollywood with him. Nope, that didn’t happen! :smiling_face_with_tear:

In the ending where the mc gets with Haze and becomes a criminal, are they still Rory’s servant?

They aren’t

Hi. How many Ro in the game? Gender locked and selectable

Four; two are freely selectable M/F; the third is selectable M/F, and the fourth will be M if the third is F and vice versa.

Oh. The last two seem like pretty important choice. Who exactly are vice versa pair?

Rory and Frank/Frankincense are always the opposite gender as each other (with Rory being your gender unless you are NB).

does inspector ambrose know that figs and the servant were pretending to be professor hickory?

Depending on how slick you are in the scene, you can even (mostly) deceive him. Very difficult. But it’s also very hard to say what Inspector Ambrose suspects, what he knows, what he suspects that he knows, and what he is pretending to suspect in order to root out suspects. ]

Hello. Could someone explain to me what “I’m dashed” means, please?

My language isn’t English and I confess I’m not sure whether it means “I am surprised” or something stronger like “I am shocked”. Or even a completely different meaning.

For context it is Aunt Primrose who says this after hearing the response from Figs (who is disguised as a teacher) about Mopsie’s behaviour.

Hello! In this context, I think “dashed” is a euphemism for “damned,” so it’s a pretty strong expression of surprise.

Oh, I see. Thank you! ^^

Edit: I also wanted to ask if the worst quality chosen for the Servant is “a tendency to become emotionally enmeshed with their employer”, does “emotionally enmeshed” always have a romantic connotation?

In this game, yes. In real life, it could mean other things, but it would usually have a romantic implication.

Can anyone help me with the achievement " the oak leaf and the roman wall, A Well-Known Narrative Tool, A Flessing in Disguise I’m Spartacus There When They Needed you, Mopsie matures, A dirty deal.

The Oak Leaf and the Roman Wall
  • Have a > 40 relationship with Haze.
  • During the cab ride with Figs, when asked whom or what you daydream about, say Haze.
  • During the dinner scene, make sure Figs maintains his disguise.
  • You will have a moment of respite after dinner. You will meet Haze and walk with them to the garden.
  • They will give you an oak leaf.
  • After the excitement of the heist, the Inner Circle mission, or escapades with Valentine, you will have the option to think of Haze.
  • The oak leaf in your pocket will remind you where you may find them.
A Well-Known Narrative Tool
  • During the foxhunt, choose to search the rooms
  • Investigate Regina’s room.
  • You will find an envelope. Grab it.
A Flessing in Disguise
  • At the gift shop, fail to secure the hair clip for Aunt Primrose. You will purchase a lace doily instead.
  • In Ritornello, you will realise that the doily does not say “GOD BLESS THIS HOME”, as you thought, but rather “GOD FLESS THIS HOME”.
  • Point this out to Rory.
  • Try to turn the F into a B.
I'm Spartacus
  • Have a relationship > 40 with at least three of the following: Rory, Mopsie, Haze, Frankincense, and Firesnuff.
  • During the dinner scene, make sure Figs does not maintain his disguise. You will then have to assume the role of Professor Hickory.
  • Regina will offer you pie. Accept politely.
There When They Needed You
  • Make sure someone gets arrested in the parlour scene.
  • Successfully extract them from jail. This varies wildly based on your stats and who is arrested.
Mopsie Matures
  • During the Harvest chapter, choose to search for the peacocks with Mopsie.
  • If you have high renown and intellect, suggest she be more obedient. Say she must be patient when she comes crying to you.
  • If you have high suspicion and skulduggery, suggest she be less obedient. Tell her to stop crying and to act when she comes crying to you.
A Dirty Deal
  • Have high suspicion and get arrested.
  • Your invitation cannot be too high - otherwise, the Inner Circle will rescue you.
  • When in your cell, listen to footsteps.
  • The devil will appear.
  • Make a deal with him.

I actually bought this book back in 2017 and I finally re-played it after I forgot the entire plot thanks for writing a funny and entertaining work. I feel like Haze and Rory were great RO and even though it’s not a huge focus on romance their stories felt natural and added to my overall enjoyment a lot.

Also, I often find that RO falls in love very fast compared in other books but I like the different character development when I read the code after I played and I was surprised by the variety of interactions even if some of them were less positive to MC. Also, I liked how dynamic the lead-up and then final endings were since I feel like a lot of books just end abruptly and I feel lost.

I bought Cakes and Ale too so I’m looking forward to your future work. Thanks.

Can I pretend to be Light Fingered Lou to help Rory and visit Haze at the Roman Wall AND visit Frankincense at the gazebo in a single playthrough?

Or in other words, can you have a “liason of a passionate nature” with Frankincense but still romance Haze? I know for sure you can have a fling with Haze and still be able to romance Frankincense, but can the opposite happen as well?

I don’t think so. I’ve never thought about that before, for some reason, and perhaps there’s some weird and unexpected way to pull it off, but it doesn’t look like you can do both, during that evening–they take up the same time slot.

This game never fails to particularly remind me of ‘Jeeves and the song of songs’, wherein Jeeves’ zany scheme involved the song ‘Sonny Boy’ being delivered to the same increasingly hostile crowd over and over, and over again…but if I’ve put fourteen different maids and valets through the same neverending story, with innumerable restarts, then it must have been rather good.

Why does everyone act like Colonel Firesnuff’s stories are boring? From what we’re told of them, they seem very exciting indeed. Is he that bad a storyteller?
